Daydreaming again about Johnny in the Temperance ending's immediate aftermath being so absolutely broken over losing V, that it is directly comparable to the trauma of war and getting his arm blown off by a bomb (as we can see in the "staring at the ceiling fan" parallel). And the only person he dared to reach out to accuses him of not only wanting this outcome but intentionally manipulating his way into making it happen, then banishes him from the city.

Envisioning him lying curled up on the bed in his Pacifica apartment trying not to cry because it sounds like her but failing miserably and the only thing that gets him out of that bed is wanting to do right by her body. The way that he still writes the journal/status updates like she's still there to read them.

im no silverv scholar (yet) but i gotta say. i dont think i fully agree with saying that johnny changes his tune about V because they're the first person who's been nice to him in fifty years. reason? V is never fucking nice to johnny.

no, i think johnny changes his tune about them because V gives as good as they get. in the beginning when they first meet, johnny tries to kill them so what do they do? pop the omega blockers to make him disappear for awhile. direct consequences to being an asshole, and that's why he reassesses and decides to talk to V. from then on, johnny can't open his mouth without V giving him attitude. the two of them trade insults back and forth like they're getting paid for it.

V doesn't just lay back and take it, they call him on his shit, they bite back, and then after all that, they listen. instead of writing him off as a narcissistic rockerboy or a whackjob, they try to actually understand him, and that's why he actually starts caring about them.

nice has got nothing to do with it. i don't think johnny knows what to do with nice. but someone who tries to get him, who wants to know him instead of just trying to fix him? that's someone who might be worth looking out for.
