#1: What is Joint Task Force Dagger?

Joint Task Force Dagger - or JTF-Dagger - is a joint task force formally formed back in 2005 by Capt. Lachlan Jones during Global War on Terror (GWOT). The task force was dispersed after completing its former goals.

In 2024, JTFD was reinstated after a mysterious attack on Sydney metro left many wounded, half the city blacked out and officers discovering a strange device with unknown origins -  an experimental EMP device leaked from a CIA clandestine program that had landed in the hands of an old foe (STALKERs), forcing Lachlan out of his short lived retirement and reforming JTFD to uncover a massive terror plot against the west - Project Nightfall.

The following are the current main official operators:

Capt. Lachlan Jones [active]

FLTLT. Archie “Frost” Campbell [active]

Sgt. Damien Whitlock [active]

Sgt. Joseph Hernández [active]

Along with Talullah Jones as an intelligence officer and various other operators within the Australian Defence Force and allies.

Each member was personally recruited by Lachlan himself through trials/screenings, old trustworthy friends or experience working together - Archie being the only exception via an on recommendation basis from Joseph.

In the midst of it all, one person who was presumed dead for the past three years is found, providing advantageous intel and to act unofficially under the team.

Cpl. Daniel Santoso [assumed KIA]

The original four had a rough start and an even rockier journey together. Damien felt as if his trust in Lachlan had been shaken after Daniel’s “death” due to the way he handled the situation and his decision at the time to leave him, as well as having rocky connections to Joseph whilst he was a commando.

Lachlan was in denial that an old enemy still loomed after he thought the original task force wiped them out completely, even coming back bigger and more powerful than 20 years go.

Finally it’s done 😭 with what started out with “oh, haven’t drawn tactical gear in a while. Let’s do that.” To a full on redraw of a mix of two older Damien artworks-

Anyways. It was fun! I learnt quite a bit when drawing this and I think my rendering has slowly gotten better, something I’ve struggled with for a bit. I think it turned out well :)

The lyric comes from the song ‘Rooster’ by Alice in Chains, but I think ‘Would?’ would’ve fit this too 😂
