To anon: Stellar were ot4 95% of their lineup. The original members (joa, leeseul) left after a couple of months and only 1 song. Then Soyoung only appeared, making them ot5, on their last mini the month before gayoung and jeonyul left. Youngheun never formally debuted, she just got added to make them 4 again so they could perform at events. They never released new music with her. That's why people think of Stellar as the core 4 lineup

hope this isn’t a dumb question but whenever i see one of the ot4 girls post about stellar they only post ot4? why not ot5? i also noticed that fans don’t seem to like ot5 much or maybe i’m misunderstanding but... ?

Hey anon! I understand what you mean, and I hope I can make some sense of all this. I can't speak for anyone so this is just my opinion of course.

I'll start by mentioning that Stellar didn't last long enough for fans to really get to know Soyoung and Youngheun. Actually, the company barely introduced them to fans... If memory serves me right, the company added them to the group kind of impulsively out of a need to, idk, reinvent Stellar when it was close to disbanding? It was a weird time, the members' contracts were coming to an end and the company must've known they wouldn't renew.

Point is, no one has anything against ot5 / Soyoung and Youngheun. It was just an awkward time for Stellar to be getting new members.

Gayoung, Minhee, Jeonyoul and Hyoeun have gone through some tough 6ish years as Stellar together. When fans think of Stellar, it's really ot4 that comes to mind first... Fans know them the best; it's the four of them that they'd been supporting for so long. The change in the lineup was just odd/random for a lot of people, and I'm assuming for all six members as well. Also, when it was announced that new members were added, what I saw at the time was confusion from the fans but especially a warm welcome! Unfortunately, Soyoung and Youngheun were involved in a messy situation with a shit company...

(Fun fact) Stellar debuted with Gayoung and Jeonyoul and two different members, Leeseul and JoA. I’ve barely heard of them tbh, so... It's really nothing personal in the end... Stellar just really grew to become the four of them.
