Reasons why self-inserting and making fancharacters is the bomb: 1) It’s fun.  2) You get to contribute something new to a fandom you enjoy. Even if tons of other people in the fandom have used the exact same basic concept you’re using, no one can put that concept into practice exactly like you can. 3) You get to expand upon the universe in your own unique way. 4) You get to make a new character, which is always fun regardless. 5) You get to play around with how they fit into the story/universe and what their relationships to the other characters are. 6) Consequently, chemistry with canon characters, and possible shipping.  7) You get to stretch your creative muscles and figure out what works and what doesnt in what ways, in both art and writing alike. 8) NEW STORYTELLING POSSIBILITIES. 9) NEW SUBPLOTS. 10) S H I P P I N G Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Anyway I’m jamming out to spooky scary skeletons because that’s just what a bitch has got to do when it’s October and it gave me an idea.

Self-ship trick or treat!

Send an ask to another self shipper as you and your f/o trick or treating, and get a trick or a treat from them! Give trick or treaters a sweet note about their ship, a small drabble (say, 100-200 words or so, don’t want to overwhelm anyone) or maybe even a quick doodle!

I know that something like this can probably get overwhelming, so be sure to set rules if you feel the need, like I’ll only accept X number of trick or treaters or I’ll only write for [insert certain fandoms here].

It’s obviously still a huge work in progress, and I’m not very good at hosting things, but I’d love some feedback on this idea!
