Four shiny Lechonk + Oinkologne

This hunt really tested my stubbornness persistence. I hunted this Lechonk for two days, going well over odds on the last phase, and was close to giving up for the sake of finishing the game. But I stuck with it and I’m glad I did! :D

Shiny Girafarig + Farigiraf

Day 2 and another shiny! Probably the last for a little bit as I’ll just be playing the game now that I got my two main goals! :D Anyway, I tried out this game’s Mass Outbreaks and it worked like a charm!

Unfortunately, this evolution has been spoiled to me 800 times despite my greatest efforts to stay spoiler free. And while I was upset at the time, I am just so excited to have it now!

Release Day - Shiny Mareep (1.200 - 1.500 encounters)

Can’t believe I actually found my favorite Pokemon on release day. I was kind of just casually hunting it, just excited to see Mareep make it into the game - and then there it was! So excited to play through the game with this cutie!

Shiny Wooloo after ??? encounters

So, anyone who’s followed me since Sword and Shield may remember I started hunting this thing the moment I started playing the game. I had 800+ knocked out and stopped counting my runaway encounters a long, long time ago. Still didn’t find anything after hunting on and off for months, eventually I lost interest in the game and moved on.

With Scarlet and Violet on the horizon though, I figured I could revisit this hunt and give it one more go. And after only 3 encounters today, it finally happened. Caught it in a Timer Ball, because I couldn’t think of a Pokeball that’s more fitting than that lmao

Shiny Luxio after 88 Mass Outbreak resets!

No, that is not a typo. This Luxio really tested me, I went almost 10x over odds for this creacher..... and what I really wanted was Shinx, but I haven't seen a single Shinx outbreak in my game so I gave up and went with a Luxio one. This just shows again though, no matter how good your odds are, you can always run into an insanely unlucky hunt. But keep at it and you'll get it! ✨

Shiny Zorua after 4 Mass Outbreak resets!

This one was the first Zorua outbreak, but I had done 3 Spheal outbreaks before! Very quick and easy hunt and extremely happy I got this particular one so fast!

Something strange just happened and I lost a Shiny to it

Any ideas as to what happened would be appreciated: I found a shiny Spheal and saved in front of it, it then despawned on me, so I reset my game. I've done this before and never had issues. However, when I loaded up my game again this time, it said that the outbreak Pokemon disappeared. I tested this again on a random outbreak, thinking they put in a quick update to not allow for Pokemon to stay after a reset of the game, but after I reset my game that time, the Pokemon were all still there.

I have to add that this exact thing happened to my boyfriend not 2 hours earlier, however to him it happened with a Haunter and we assumed they disappeared because his game changed to daytime. Spheal on the other hand is available around the clock, so that can't be a reason here.

Does anyone have any clue as to what happened? Why did the Spheal disappear after I reset my game?

Any help is appreciated so this can be avoided in the future.

I've seen two other people mention this happened to them by now, so until we know better what exactly it is (random chance for outbreaks to disappear if you save close to them? A bug?): I recommend not saving in front of an outbreak shiny and instead, if it escapes, simply reset your game so you're back at the base camp and go straight to the outbreak again. You will face the exact same outbreak as before (including your shiny). I've done this multiple times as well and it worked just fine. This way you don't run the risk of messing around with the outbreak by saving near it.

Two shiny Vulpix in the FIRST Mass Outbreak!

This one was definitely the craziest so far! I was looking for a Zorua outbreak, but Vulpix showed up and I thought "Sure, why not"... little did I know I'd get two of them on the first trip there :D

Struggled to get out of the river and then it kept despawning on me LOL thank god saving in front of shinies works, never forget to do that!

Shiny Goomy after 16 Mass Outbreak resets!

Got so excited I accidentally saved twice haha This one took a little longer than my previous shinies, but still insanely fast. This method is definitely the easiest one I've seen in a long time - reminds me a bit of hoard hunting in XY, but even that felt like it took longer to find shinies. If you want shinies... do the outbreak method!

Shiny Ponyta after 4 Mass Outbreak resets!

While I genuinely love them including a shiny quest in the game to teach people these Pokemon aren't "bugged" and end up failing them, I just had to go out and find another as I almost always hunt for Ponyta in a new game! Now I can have Ponyta and Rapidash, which is definitely a win in my eyes!

Two shiny Buizel in 5 and 1 Mass Outbreak resets!

These cuties appeared one outbreak after another! I didn't include the catch scene, but I did successfully capture both of them - one is much smaller than the other, which is quite cute! :D

Was on my way to a Ponyta outbreak to look for a non-quest shiny to evolve into Rapidash, but was interrupted by this surprise!

Shiny Eevee after 12 Mass Outbreak resets!

This Eevee spawned between an alpha Rapidash and an alpha Eevee - both of them severely outleveled my Pokemon..... Had to sneak around for a little bit until I found an opening to even get to the Eevee. My heart almost jumped outta my chest asdfgdsa what a first shiny experience in this game!
