Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Anthony Head has passed away at the age of 72.

His daughters confirmed that he passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, surrounded by his family, following complications from pneumonia. Head had an extensive and beloved career across television, film, and musical theater. He achieved international recognition in the late 1990s as Rupert Giles, the wise Watcher and librarian on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

What an awful day and a huge loss 😞…
