Harbinger!Zhongli x Archon!Childe (Basically roles reversed)
-
Childe was having a meltdown. Yes, he signed a contract, expecting to fulfill it easily. But he hadnât expected the harbinger sent to him to be so hot.
Those piercing amber eyes and muscular arms. Childe would never dare to speak of it to anyone but he wanted Zhongli to step on him and fuck him senseless.
When they first met, the way Zhongli was ruthless, cold and calculating intrigued Childe. When they got to know each other better, Zhongli became a gentlemen. And Childe was head over heels for the gorgeous man.
Childe sent gifts and treated Zhongli to anything he wanted.
They became close enough until Zhongli was willing to share his mission with Childe. No details but there was the mention of getting his gnosis.Â
âThen⊠what will you do when you get the gnosis, Xiansheng?â Childe asked.
âI will await the Tsaritsaâs order and fulfil her wishes, no matter where I have to do.â
âEven if you have to go far, far away?â Childe asked.
Zhongli nodded without hesitation. And it broke Childeâs heart.
Unlike Zhongli, Childe wasnât great at keeping a straight face. The sadness in the already dark, blue eyes were apparent.
âI see, thatâs okay, the Tsaritsa is lucky to have such a loyal man.â Childe said, a smile plastered on his face. Zhongli acknowledged the compliment and they fell silent for a couple of moments.
Then Zhongli spoke up, âperhaps youâd like to come with me?â
âOh-Huh? Are you sure? Iâm just a lowly consultant, Xiangsheng~â
âYou are very knowledgeable⊠And your companionship is very nice.â Childe blinked in surprise. Zhongli had never expressed that he liked being constantly followed around by him.
He broke into a giggle, blushing slightly, âaww, you like me around, Xiansheng~?â
Zhongli frowned, crossed his arms and looked away furiously. He wasnât used to expressing himself and Childe was making fun of him while he was trying.
âNo.â He said.
âNo?â Childe asked sadly.
â⊠ʞá”Ëą.â
âI didnât catch that, what did you say?â
âDonât make me say it again.â
Childe laughed, âI knew it. You were lying all those time you tried to shoo me away.â
Zhongli grunted, scowling slightly as he got teased by his consultant. Oh what would the harbingers say when they saw him being bullied by a cheerful ginger head.
âSo, Childe, do you accept my offer?â
Childe only smiled sadly, âI would love to. But I canât leave my home.â
âOh. That is alright.â
âWould you stay with me if you could?â Childe asked quietly, âif you had permission from the Tsaritsa?â
Zhongli pondered it for a moment. âYes, of course. It would be very nice.â
âEven if itâs largely a domestic life?â
âMmhm.â
So now Childe is agonising over how he would keep Zhongli by his side.
He could give up his gnosis in exchange for Zhongli. But that would mean he doesnât get to test his people.
In the end, Childe wrote to the Tsaritsa, asking for an amendment to their contract.
On the basis of their good ties, the Tsaritsa agreed.
And Zhongli found himself suddenly in Tartagliaâs lair. It was quite beautiful, everything was shimmering and gold.
Their battle was quite legendary. As he had expected, fighting an Archon was no easy feat.
It was ended abruptly when he found himself pinned to the by none other than his consultant.
âChilde- no, Tartaglia?â
Tartaglia laughed. âI am Childe. Itâs an alias, remember?â
Zhongli frowned in confusion, âChilde, what..?â
âYou said youâd stay with me if you could, right? Iâve amended my contract with the Tsaritsa. You can have the gnosis and I will get to keep you and youâll have to test my people.â Childe explained, âbutâŠâ
âBut?â
âOnly if you want to.â Childe said, pleaded almost.
âDo you want me to?â Zhongli asked softly. âIâm a Harbinger. Iâve done a lot of bad in my lifetime. And Iâm not good with relationships.â
âI want you to stay with me. What youâve done is in the past. I love you, Zhongli. Very much.â
Zhongli gently cupped Childeâs cheek.
He smiled so softly, one that Childe had never seen before.
âI accept the offer.â
Prince Charming and the Dragon | Zhongchi
Dragon!Zhongli x Prince!Childe. Kind of crack
-
In most fairy tales, the prince saves the princess from the big, evil dragon. The big, evil dragon is slain after a battle. Then the prince and princess gets married and they live happily ever after.Â
Not in this one.
In this one, the prince fell for the big, evil dragon.
The 11th Prince of Snezhnaya, known as Childe, certainly did not expect it to happen.
He didnât expect the dragon to have a super hot half dragon and human form. And he certainly expect the dragon to be *nice*.
Childe sneaked into the dragonâs den to find that he prepares lavish meals for the princess he captured. And the prison the princess stayed in was not any cold, stinky and dirty dungeon. It was just a room with decent bed and furniture. It didnât take long for him to get captured, but he had a feeling that Zhongli the dragon was also quite taken aback by him.
Childe was furious, thinking that Zhongli thought him as weak.
But Zhongli was only surprised to find the prince to be prettier than the princess he held hostage. Childe wanted to fight but the dragon invited him in to have some tea and biscuits. Confused, he accepted the offer.
It was funny how quickly they became friends. Childe was initially suspicious but Zhongli was so nice. The pretty appearance and the fact that Zhongli was really kind and willing to let him go made him wonder if the dragon was as bad as people made him to be.
Childe wanted to leave but the heavy blizzard prevented him from returning home.
So they ended up bonding. Zhongli learnt how Childe had spent his whole life seeking recognition, eventually turning to slaying a dragon for some potential acknowledgements.
Childe learnt that Zhongli kept the princess a hostage so the kingdom could not just nuke his home. As they learnt more about each other, they started to like each other. And Childe started realising the kingdom he lived in was not as great as he thought it to be.
They devised a plan and staged a battle, letting the princess leave under the impression that Childe was fighting for her. The princess would then flee back to the kingdom and send more people to find her savior.
The plan worked, of course. From there, any challenger that dared to try and ârescueâ Childe would be captured. Then theyâll become an entertainment for Childe. The surprise on their faces when they realise that the person they were trying to rescue was actually in kahoots with the dragon.
But none could tell the tale as they fell to the prince. Whenever there werenât any rude interruptions, theyâd spend quality time with each other. It was largely a domestic life with occasional outings to the wilderness.
Eventually, Zhongli popped the question. It was funny how Childe could see it from a mile away. All the flowers, gifts and offerings had a lot of obvious hints. Childe was ready to say yes but Zhongli never dared to ask for the longest time.
âSo, TartagliaâŠâ
âYes, Zhongli?â
âWill you be my mate?â Zhongli asked softly.
âYe- wait, what? Mate?âÂ
âYes, mate. My mate. Youâll be mine as I am yours.â Zhongli said, hugging Childe from behind.
âWoah, that sounds more than being boyfriends.â
âBoyfriends?â
âYeah, like, in a relationship, you know. Mate sounds like getting married.â
âWerenât we boyfriends already?âÂ
Childe stared at Zhongli. âBut, we were friends.â
âFriends donât kiss.â Zhongli replied.
âWell, I thought it was a dragon thing.â
âFriends donât sleep together.â
Childe was growing more and more red.
âFriends donât fuââ
âOKAY. I get it.â he was so embarrassed.Â
âI also asked you before.â Zhongli said. âYou said yes.â
âI did? When?â Childe frowned.
âWhen you let me mark you.â Zhongli said softly, his forked tongue slithering against the geo mark on the back of Childeâs neck.
Childe frowned. He hazily remembered when he agreed to something about being marked while they were doing the deed.
âThatâs how dragonâs ask each other to get into a relationship?â
âMmhm.â
âAnd yet you ask to be mates by asking?â Childe asked frowning. It made no sense.
âOf course not. I just wanted to make sure this time.âÂ
âWhy?â Childe asked, tilting his head slightly.
âBecause it will be irreversible and I want to make sure you will not regret it.â
âI wonât.â Childe answered without hesitation.
Zhongli was quite surprised. He expected uncertainty and reluctance. âAre you sure?âÂ
âYeah. Iâve never felt happier before, without you. I love you, Zhongli. For so long and I canât believe I didnât know we are in a relationship while we are in a relationship.â
Zhongli smiled as Childe spoke, âso youâre agreeable?âÂ
âYeah. This is the worst proposal ever. No ring, no grand scheme but Iâd have it no other way.â Childe turned around, grabbed Zhongliâs collar and kissed him, hard.
He thought that he could catch the dragon off guard and kiss him senseless, only to end up red and breathless.Â
âSo now what?â Childe asked.
The pair of amber eyes looked at his mate. His eyes darkened with lust.
âIâll mark you.â
âHavenât you already done that?â
âFor real this time.â
Childe swallowed. He had a feeling that it was not what he expected it to be.
The Things Erosion do | Zhongchi
cw: dark themes, death, different events during Osial incident.
-
Zhongli could see everything in slow motion. He could see that blood stained blade approaching his lover from behind. Yet he could not react. His body would not move fast enough. He could not even scream.
He could see those blue eyes widen in shock, gasping as a piece of metal pierced right through his chest. Childe collapsed. The Tsaritsaâs Vanguard fell. And Zhongli lost his heart.
It was the moment his world turned dark.Â
The ex Geo Archon woke up in cold sweat.
For a moment, he searched for his lover, only to find nothing but cold emptiness beside him.
Zhongli would never be able to get used to the fact that his lover is no longer with him. The traveller had killed him during the battle of Osial.
Of course Zhongli blamed him. He blamed the world. But deep down, he could only blame himself. He had planned the events to happen. Childe didnât have to die. Not if Zhongli had told him the plan earlier.
Zhongli never imagined his life as a mortal to be so painful. He held onto Childeâs now dim vision, praying to Celestia that it would light up one more. He never thought that all he could feel was regret and sadness.Â
What he could not feel, however, was the way Childeâs ghost was hugging him.
He could not hear his loverâs cries and pleads for Zhongli to move on.
Childe knew very well that his lover could not see nor hear him but he still refused to leave his side. As a ghost, he should be heading to the afterlife but he could not bear to leave Zhongli in the state he was in.
Now that he was more than a mortal, he could see the erosion Zhongli was undergoing. Each moment he spent grieving and regretting only worsen the erosion. At this rate, the man he loved would become someone else⊠or something else entirely.
Childe stayed in the world, hoping that one day, perhaps Zhongli would be able to hear him. To realise how much Childe loved him and that he wished that Zhongli could move on. Yet he could only watch in despair as Zhongli walk a dark path.
Revival of the dead simply went against the laws of nature. But that didnât stop Zhongli. He was determined to bring back his lover, no matter what it took.
He started travelling. Seeking all sorts of knowledge. He learnt the most difficult rituals and and read the rarest books, only to realise that there were no answers in the knowledge presented to the world of Teyvat.
Zhongli turned to forbidden ways instead. He killed, massacred and destroyed. His obsession with bringing back Childe blinded him to what was right and wrong.
If he could bring down Celestia, he could bring back Childe. They were the ones guarding all the gates after all.
Zhongli sought out power, stealing it from anyone that stood in his path. Although nothing could curb his erosion, Zhongli turned near invincible and unkillable. His mind could be completely eroded, his soul long gone, but his body would remain as a hollow shell.
It also tuned his senses, turning it even sharper than before. He could hear things others could not.
Zhongli could hear Childeâs weeps but nothing more. Childe was surprised when Zhongli directly addressed him, asking him if he was in pain and crying.
After so long, there was hope that he could communicate with Zhongli.
That hope was extinguished when he realised that Zhongli could not hear his words, only his cries. Childe felt despair when Zhongliâs resolve to revive him was further strengthened.
His lover was somehow convinced that Childe was crying because Celestia was treating him unwell and refused to let him return.
Knowing that his presence only worsened things, Childe chose to move onto the afterlife, hoping that Zhongli would no longer hear his cries and realise that he was okay being dead.
But the absence of cries only made Zhongli even more determined and nervous. He wouldnât rest until his mission was completed. Zhongli waged a war with Celestia. The Tsaritsa even allied with him, even if that partnership was a rather shaky one.
It was difficult but they conquered Celestia. Zhongli wanted to open the gates to the afterworld but the Tsaritsa refused.
So Zhongli simply rid of her. Childe was rudely awakened and brought back into the world. He found himself in his body, which was now fixed by Zhongli.
âAjax, dear? Are you awake?â Zhongli asked, his voice thick with emotion.
âOh Zhongli, what have you done?â The tone of misery and despair was not what Zhongli expected to hear.
âAre you⊠not happy, Ajax? We can be together.â
âYou know you canât revive the dead. No one can. Breaking the laws only cause things to become even worse.â Childe scolded angrily.Â
The consequences came quick. Celestia was not the big boss. There is always something higher up, governing the laws of the universe.
And now that Zhongli broken a law, he will face the consequences. It didnât take long for Zhongli to be defeated. A harsh punishment awaited him.
But Childe pleaded for him. He begged them to have mercy and let him take some of the burden as well.
And mercy they gave. Childe was to seal Zhongli away with his soul. within Teyvat, where they will never see the light of day again.
Life on Teyvat will be drawn from them as a compensation for the lives they had destroyed.
The only sign of them could be found in Liyue, where they used to live together. A giant, immovable stone with words written on them.
âIn heaven, hell or punishment, we will be together.â

Less Alone | Zhongchi fic
Childe never had someone to lean on. No one he could talk to about himself, his feelings. Everything told him that he shouldnât have those feelings so he got used to pretending they donât exist. Of course itâs unhealthy, but it had become a norm. Everyday, heâd be ok because he has to be. As a harbinger, the Tsaritsaâs vanguard and weapon, there was no room for silly emotions.
But whenever things got too rough, just a bit too much for him to ignore, heâd find himself high up on tianheng mountain. Childe would take some time to unwind and relax. To cool down and regain his composure so he could continue being that strong and powerful Harbinger most know him to be.Â
Heâs always alone, but that was okay. Having space like this to process his thoughts and emotions felt like a luxury he should not have already.
One night, he had horrible nightmares and sleep paralysis. Childe simply didnât dare to return to sleep. He didnât want to relive his younger years in the abyss. Heâs strong now but whenever heâs in that nightmare, heâd forget everything. Childe felt nothing more than a small, terrified kid.Â
So he got up and headed to his usual spot up on tianheng mountain. It was dark and monsters were lurking but he could easily protect himself. From afar, a silhouette of a tall, slim man stood where he usually went. It came as a surprise, Childe had never seen anyone at his spot.
Moving closer, he recognised that man as a friend, or perhaps more than that.
âZhongli xianshengâŠâ he murmured quietly.
âAh, Childe, what brings you here in the middle of the night?â
âNothing, just felt like it.â Childe shrugged with a small, crooked smile as Zhongli looked at him.Â
âAm I disturbing you? Should I go?â
âNo, of course not. Please, stay if you wish to.â Childe stood next to Zhongli, gazing down at Liyue harbor and out into the horizon.
It was peacefully quiet as per usual but it felt strange with Zhongliâs presence, even if he wasnât doing much. Childe couldnât really say for sure if he liked or disliked it. They remained silent for a while. It didnât take long for Childeâs mind to wander within the myriad of different and chaotic thoughts.
It was when Zhongli spoke when Childe return to Teyvat. âChilde, would you, perhaps, care to share whatâs on your mind?â Childe turned to Zhongli, who was still gazing at Liyue. âUh huh? Nothingâs on my mind...â He sounded less certain that he hoped to be.
Zhongli turned to look at him. The amber eyes looked as though they already knew Childe was lying. For some reasons, Zhongli could always easily get Childe talking like that.
âOk, I was lying. But I donât really want to talk about it. Or even think about it. â Childe admitted softly. It felt all too personal to share with Zhongli. And he didnât want to tarnish the impression he had of him. Zhongli didnât say anything after and Childe was glad that he chose not to press on the topic.
Then Zhongli wrapped an arm around his shoulder, pulling Childe close. He was stunned but did not resist. âZhongli? Whatâs this..?âÂ
âYou said you didnât want to think about it so letâs just enjoy the present together. No past nor future, only the moment now, you and me.â Zhongli said, smiling softly at the troubled man next to him.
Childe didnât know how but his walls just crumbled. Zhongli was willing to spend time with him? The abyss tainted human? Not only did he choose not to press on what Childe was thinking about, he even tried to do as he wished?
Childe never dreamt of being treated like that before.
Tears started falling uncontrollably and Childe looked away, desperately wiping his tears away.
âDonât look at me.â
âChilde, I apologise if I said anything wrong-â Zhongli looked visibly alarmed when Childe started crying even harder.
âWhy are you so nice to me?â Childe asked shakily.Â
âOh Childe, why wouldnât I be? Youâre someone I care for deeply, someone I cherish and would hold dear.â
â⊠Zhongli XianËąÊ°á”âżá”âŠâ Childe cried, burying his head against the crook of Zhongliâs neck when he was pulled into a warm embrace.
âCry as much as you wish, Childe, Iâll be here for you.â
Childe spilled everything. All his grievances, sadness and insecurities. For hours, they talked with Childe feeling secure in Zhongliâs arms. By the end of it, Childe felt lighter than ever⊠and very sleepy. The ginger eventually dozed off, exhausted from crying and venting.
As the sun started rising, Zhongli didnât have to heart to wake the sleeping beauty so he chose to pick him up.
He brought him home and stayed with him as Childe had requested. The Geo Archon thought about Childeâs words. About how he felt unloved and that he should be unloved.
Zhongliâs heart broke a little, wondering if the moment they had helped Childe feel a little less lonely.
âYouâre loved, Childe,â Zhongli whispered quietly,Â
âby your friends, colleagues, the TsaritsaâŠâ
Zhongli brushed away Childeâs fringe, gently kissing him in his forehead as he blessed him with sweet dreams.
â⊠by me.âÂ

Hi guys! My first post here lol. Iâm just an average genshin player that likes writing a lot of Zhongchi fics and some other ships as well.
