Today was very nice and sunny. It was warmer than yesterday, it actually got in the double digits (well in centigrade) , so I did not feel like my toes were going to fall off. It was a very easy going day. We started off by going to the local dairy farm and horse stable. Although it smelled awful, well not as bad as it probably smells in the summer, it was a nice experience. When you walk in there is a section where you grab a bottle and pay one euro to fill up the bottle with the milk from the farm -- and in another room you can get wine, it's a self serve diary farm. They also sold several different pastries, all from the cheese they get from the cows, and all natural ice cream. We then headed to the back of the building where you can get up-close-and-personal with the cows. There were so many flies it was ridiculous!!! At one point Shokou was taking a picture of a cow and it scared the cow so it ran away from here, it was hilarious. Right next to the cows there were some goats, sheep and donkeys. It was really interesting to see them all live in the same pen.
We then walked over to the horse stables. Apparently it is one of the top equestrian clubs in Milan, and in Italy. The track was kind of run down, but that doesn't matter because the horses were really pretty. When we went behind the stable some of the horses were out in the field and we could see them up close, until the stable man came out and took the horse back inside. We then tried to walk around in the park/corn field. The ground was muddy and slippery so instead of walking very far we looked at the path from a distance, my shoes were covered in mud. We then headed back home where I cleaned off my shoes and we had lunch before we went out again.
We then went to the town Mariano Comense to go to the Christmas market. First we went to the outside market that was more like the markets I am used to. It is full of the random knick knacks that are usually sold at Christmas markets. After we had a look there we went to the indoor market. That was crazy!! There were a lot of people and you had to push your way through the crowd just to look at what was being sold. There were tons of food stalls and random gifts that a lot of people give for presents during Christmas time. I swear everywhere I walked I smelled cheese and salami because there was someone selling those at EVERY corner. The market was 3 stories high and was full to the brim. It is a very interesting idea to have a market indoors, it keeps you warm from the cold, but the issue is that there are so many people in there it must be a fire hazard, but hey it's Italy.
We then headed back home to get ready to go out to dinner. We went to a Sushi/Chinese/Italian restaurant that we went to the last time I was here. Surprisingly the sushi is decent here, even though it is such a miss-match of foods. Shokou doesn't like sushi so she order her Chinese food while I had my sushi. I was so happy to have sushi, because I have been craving it in London and I haven't had much of a chance to quench that craving. I'm so used to living in a highly Asian area where sushi and thai food is easily accessible and very good, but now I live in an area that is mainly Arab and Persian, so sushi is the last thing you will find there. It was a really nice last dinner while I am here it Italy. Tomorrow is my last day here and I will really miss it; however, I know I will come back soon. Ciao for now!
