New Announcements regarding Shishimee2...in JUNE!
VACAY!!!!
\Giving myself a small breather....
Reminds me of every nephew that has passed through my house!
Thank God It's Friday!
The theme this past week has been SEO, PR & GA, by now you know what terms they stand for….if you don’t…. then scroll back to Monday. On our final day, we see how Facebook relates to these topics…and oh how it definitely does. For example:
When on Facebook, you do realize that your every move, decision and taste is being recorded and documented….right? It’s actually unavoidable. Remember Graph Search topic I posted just last Friday? Go look at your Youtube page- see how certain videos are recommended to you because you viewed another video in the past or something like that?
Solution? Fine tuning your Privacy….your social media privacy is something that should be reviewed and updated on a regular basis. Hey…if you are an individual who enjoys telling all your 1200 friends every minute by minute detail of your daily life, even YOU should review your privacy. You already know this….but sometimes we take the basics for granted.
Start with…. http://www.sdms.org/resources/computer.asp.
Then, remember these tips too… http://youtu.be/fo5Y3LB3_qk
But most of all..and you know this!!....Please avoid these simple items …
http://computer.howstuffworks.com/internet/social-networking/information/10-things-you-should-not-share-on-social-networks.htm
These following sites are some that will get you in the most trouble….yet….they are some of the best social media sites out there. They are important and necessary!

Be My Tech Love
Today is Valentine ’s Day.
Enjoy the theme of the day with your loved one or by yourself.
After all, It’s the love that counts…everyone needs more love in their life.
So, what shall we learn today? SEO and how it relates to Technology…..Yes…It has everything to do with Technology since SEO would not exist without Technology. ….duh…..lol.
That said…here are a few ways you can show post love via Tech.
What is SEO? Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of tracking when your website, blog or any of your social media profiles is requested for display by searcher’s query on commercial search engines like Google, Bing & Yahoo.
This link shows you how to set it up:
http://www.howto.gov/web-content/search/seo
Just in case you need more explaining:

YouTube advice- will be using these tips!!!!
http://youtu.be/5GK0aQrCDEo
It’s all about attention people….just like we all want some attention on Valentine’s day, SEO will give all your page all the attention it wants if you set it up properly.
Here’s one more tip:

Could Brain have used GA to…
So…we’ve all heard of Google and its goal to take over the world…if Zuckerberg doesn’t beat them to it…
In that case, I‘m sure you’ve also heard of Google Analytics (GA) and had no idea of what the HECK it is…right?
Well today on #WhateverWednesdays….join me as we delve into it a bit further?(eerie voice)
Let’s start by watching this “humorous” video…
YouTube 1: http://youtu.be/N5WurXNec7E
Did you get it? No? not yet…Ok…here’s another one:
Youtube 2: http://youtu.be/cbtf1oyNg-8
Now you’re getting it? Huh…huh…?
Simply, Google Analytics (GA) will help your potential customer find your service site online with less…..much less… drama but only if….IF you set your account up properly.
One more video, on how to understand Google Analytics (GA) a little better,
Youtube3: http://youtu.be/kKVTCq8n3Gc
Ok….let’s leave it at that for now. My goal today, was just to provide a BASIC understanding of GA’s purpose and how it works.
Hope this helped….to start.
Of course, we will discuss GA further in the future where it applies.
Remember, our goal here @shishimee2 is to bring you a coordinated view of a week full of tidbits about Social Media, Technology and the Whatevers of life at 1 post a day @shishimee2 on Tumblr & Twitter.

Who Taught you....by Malcom X
Learning New Words.....
Today is #BlogMonday and this is the week we begin to discuss these key terms such as :
SEO…Ranking….Google Analytics.
Let’s first define these topics and throughout this week’s Theme days, I will attempt to correlate these same topics to help you to better understand how these terms can aid you in not only attracting an audience based on the your content and your character, but on good old fashion social media laws of attraction.
Some would argue that before you can attract an audience of readers, you must first define their needs. I agree but only if you don’t have the latter. No worries. In my opinion, getting comfortable first with these terms and how they apply to you is more important we will discuss needs in the near future after you’ve mastered how the big pieces fit in the social media big picture so that you can identify the little details within the picture, after.
SEO: Search Engine Optimization. I enjoyed the varied perspectives: http://www.shoemoney.com/2008/05/14/what-is-the-definition-of-seo
Ranking: A position in a scale of achievement or status; a classification. ( See tomorrow’s Twitter Grader)
Google Analytics: you can track visitors from all referrers, including search engines and social networks, direct visits and referring sites. It also displays advertising, pay-per-click networks, e-mail marketing and digital collateral such as links within PDF documents. See Wiki or http://www.google.com/analytics/?utm_source=gaha&utm_medium=ha-search&utm_term=%2Bgoogle%20%2Banalytics&utm_campaign=us-en-ha-ga-bkws&gclid=CKK7nYWmrrUCFYje4AodFEAA-A

Prepping your Recycling.
Earth Day 2013
In preparation for Earth Day, April 22nd, 2013, I’ve been looking around my space to see how I can improve it. I see a few items that can be redeemed for cash or donated. It got me thinking? Do you have a drawer full of old remotes, cell phones, MP3s and various gadgets that are taking up valuable space that could be used to store other mundane stuff?
Don’t we all?
Upon further research, I looked into this and found plenty of information online regarding this topic. I have always hesitated in considering recycling my laptop and old computers because I didn’t know how to delete or remove my personal information from the apparatus. But now I read that you can erase your data using different means:
Eraser download: http://blog.laptopmag.com/ready-set-recycle
or
Delete it yourself this way: http://www.delete-computer-history.com/secure-file-deletion.html
or
That way: http://www.ehow.com/how_8251935_erase-data-laptop.html
Keep in mind, these links above are only recommendations that I found, to share with you. Maybe you know of a better way to erase your data when preparing your technology to be donated or sold for recycling. You’re welcome to share, if you’d like. Whatever the case, please use proper judgment and remember, the Earth is our home. Please help keep it neat.
Finally, this video can help you in your organizing for Earth Day:

Identifying your Style..
Identifying your Style
Educated in the United States, you learn early the three R’s…reading, writing, and arithmetic. Depending on your study habits, some years were easier than others to absorb the tons of information ingested throughout the years. But one thing remained constant; we use the 3R’s in our daily living.
Writing styles have progressed a lot since Guttenberg published the first “Good” Book in 1439.
There are 4 types of writing styles:
http://hunbbel-meer.hubpages.com/hub/Four-Types-of-Writing
A writer’s style is based on the writer’s personality and voice. It is also greatly influenced on how he/she perceives his/her audience.
When you begin to write your blog or your Twitter posts or create your Facebook profile, you must first identify your Brand -as we discussed last week on #WhateverWednesdays. This will determine how you want to be recognized by your audience. Which will help you to create the right tone and voice for your brand and consequently your pages. This will take practice.
I’m still in this practice phase myself. I know I’m being authentic but I always wonder how far I can push the boundaries when communicating with you- my reader. Is my encouragement strong enough or am I laying in on too thick. Are you influenced by the information I share with you? Are you excited in your journey into social media? Are you even reading these Posts? I will be sharing information on plug-ins that monitor your audience activity in the next few months.LOL
Here at shishime2 on #WhateverWednesdays, we believe that our goal to bring you a coordinated view of a week full of tidbits about Social Media, Technology and the Whatevers of life is sound. We hope you are learning something new every day. Feel free to provide feedback on any of our pages: Tumblr or Twitter @shishime2.

Pimp My Twitter!
Tricked out Twitter!
Have you ever seen that show
Pimp My Ride:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqwL0ew6aZY ?
Well today, let’s look into Pimping out our Twitter.
As posted on @shishime2 on Twitter, we featured a page which introduces you the novice or advance tweeps to stuff you can add to your twitter practices that would not only improve your Twitter experience but maybe, if you so choose this challenge - streamline it. It’s up to you.
I especially enjoy seeing posts that include special characters like:
✌ or ❁ or the always dependable ☺.
Not that I’m likely to adopt this, but it’s still nice to see.
Or look at the Time management tools that help you post your twitter feeds on a schedule.
And remember to use snip it tools to keep your post short. Earlier this year, on January 15th I posted about this same subject on Twitter to encourage you to use these shortening services:
Tinyurl.com, snurl.com, bit.ly.com, tweetshrink to name a few.
So if you are the adventurous type….which I hope you are since you’re reading these posts about improving your social media profiles…enjoy this “light” reading list and explore your different options.
I always encourage those of you born before the age of the computer, to reach out to your kids and engage them by asking those questions about these same topics. While you patiently ignore the rolling of their eyes and the heavy exhale, bravely asked to see what tricks they’ve adopted for their postings and take copious notes for yourself. Hopefully, you won’t regret it.
Meanwhile, have fun on Twitter. Whether you use it for business or pleasure, enjoy the process of sharing and learning.
After all, isn’t that what life is all about? I included this video to remind you:

Reasons why you should start a blog?
Whether it’s 10 reasons, 5 reasons or 1 reason - why should you start Blogging?
Blogging is an online activity we could all take part of.
Why?
Your knowledge - what you know - is someone’s answer. A Blog advertises to an audience that your talent can bring a significant improvement to their corresponding situation… whatever that may be.
In taking up Blogging you create an online platform that will inform the world that your contribution brings value and worth to the global community. Isn’t that worth the practice of scheduling on a regular basis, thought provoking texts that have the potential ability to educate, provoke, save and unite?
Yes- I agree, there are already millions of blog posted online every day, but are you really going take that excuse to heart.
The want..the need...the urgency for help among mankind is ever present.
You matter….let your voice be heard too.
Be Well and Blessed.

Hello Friend....
Hello Friend…
A social network can mean different things to people.
For some it could mean being a regular at a local establishment and creating relationships on site…you know…personally.
For some it could mean, being a gregarious biz wiz parlaying their skills to produce extraordinary dividends.
For some it could mean building online relationships professionally or personally.
….or other things….
But whatever it means to you, a social network is a necessary component of life.
If you believe in The Bible, it says in Genesis 2:18 “It is not good for man to be alone; I will make a helper suitable for him”.
We are social creatures. We need family and friends to see us through the experience that we call Life.
Yet sometimes, we are so busy living…that we forget to Live.
This weekend, take time out to go out and play, live, love and laugh.
If you need to, take the laptop with you.
But if you want more from this experience….leave it at home.
I dare you. LOL
Have a great weekend.
Be Well and Blessed.
