#noWarInSyria This is a fun one. I think it’s legitimately incomprehensible / off the rails, but who knows?

So, apparently the alt-right folks started producing fake Israeli anti-war propaganda, in order to somehow blame Jews for starting WWIII (which the nazis are actually starting). I guess the result will depend on whether Americans are smart enough to draw a distinction between Jews and Israelis. (Uh oh.)

On the bright side, dozens of nazis are energetically (though sarcastically) producing antiwar propaganda.

Heads up: alt right plans to use cyclical evidence to insert falsehoods into history. (They’ve been doing this for a long time, but the plan is easily adapted to circumvent the YouTube-Wikipedia defense.) The tactic generally works like this:

1) Create some fake news (youtube, journalism, etc.)

2) Cite it as a source on a Wikipedia article. Edit the article to insert the lie.

3) Get more prestigious/reputable news organizations to cite the Wikipedia article.

4) Edit the Wikipedia article so that the source is the prestigious news organization (from step 3) rather than the alt-right rag (from step 1).

(Incidentally, the Wikipedia on Ezra Pound has been edited to remove mention of the fact that, before dying, Pound admitted to Alan Ginsburg that his worst mistake in life was his “stupid suburban antisemitic prejudice”. Fortunately, it’s still remembered that he said,

Pound is super important to me, because I love him even if he is a Nazi. His critique of capitalism is very accurate and he correctly identified many of the forces that alienate us today. He was mainly wrong about the solutions.)
