Hello, I’m struggling majorly on funds at the moment. I haven’t yet paid rent for June and July is slowly creeping up. I also do not have a phone and I’ve officially run out of grocery money. I’m currently working a job this week and there are a few things I’m working on for the month of June. However, it’ll be a long while between now and the week I get paid, and it’s starting to become very stressful making ends meet.
This summer I’m working on a piece for the job I have not yet finalized in acquiring, but hey, we’re almost there. Black Femme Perspectives on Creative Cultural Work and Radical Art Processes. It’s a body of work that will be both spiritual and questioning in it’s theory and possibility. It centers art created by the marginalized subject as an avenue for radical and revolutionary re-imagining.
“As a cultural worker who belongs to an oppressed people my job is to make revolution irresistible.” Toni Cade Bambara
Using this quote as a starting point, I hope to begin to interrogate some of my perspectives regarding responsible and thoughtful art creation as a marginalized subject.
This is a project for June. However, job hunting is stressful, and my prayer is to find work that will allow me to breathe mentally and function without falling into a lethargic haze. I really hope this summer isn’t too hot ya’ll.
Please consider donating money to my paypal. Even $5 would really go a long way right now. Sharing is also appreciated too. 💜💜
