This is Eman Zaqout, from Occupied Gaza, Palestine. I am a Biotechnologist ,🩸💉 and scientific researcher contacting you at a really desperate moment.
I am seeking your assistance to raise funds for saving our lives, facing the starvation in Gaza and help me achieve my doctoral degree dream after being awarded OWSD PhD Fellowship for inspirational women.🍉👩🎓
Just like any motivated and loving life woman, and for years, I poured my heart and soul into my work at Al-Shifa Hospital and Turkish Palestinian Friendship Hospital, as Biotechnology Specialist serving cancer patients with compassion and skill.💪🤍
[ photos of Turkish Palestinian Friendship Hospital before and after the IDF destruction ]
[ photos of Al-Shifa Hospital before and after the IDF destruction]
I also gave medical lectures to students at different universities and training centers in Gaza👇☑
As a result of my outstanding grades in my study and the excellent performance in my job, I have been a holder of different scholarship and I am active participant in many research visits and scientific missions. 👩🔬The last scholarship as at McGill University in Canada three months ago before the starting of the genocide in Gaza.😥
However,😥
My life changed dramatically when Israeli military launched a sweeping war against Gaza. My home and our neighborhood in the North have been destroyed along with our belongings and precious memories early in this crisis.😭💔
My job and my husband's job are gone. Israeli military forced us to evacuate from the north Gaza to the south where they claimed it would be the safe zone but it is not at all. Our sweet home and neighborhood have been destroyed.
Forced to flee with nothing but the clothes on our backs, today, we find ourselves sheltering in a displacement camp lacking access to sanitation, medical supplies, food and drinkable water. I will not talk a lot about the dire and unbearable life we have to go through, as no word can express it fairly😔
The good news in the midst of this tragedy, that I am one of the 22 women from the developing world who have been awarded OWSD- PhD fellowship to pursue my PhD study in Malaysia🍉💪. But now I am stuck in Gaza unable to achieve my dream because Israeli army has occupied and closed all the border crossings 😭💔
Meet 22 fellows awarded OWSD PhD fellowship
This genocide has been more than a year of hell and horror. We have reached a point where there is no hope left for us here in Gaza, where we are unfortunately just waiting for our turn to die.
Nevertheless,
I refuse to succumb to despair, holding on to the belief that brighter days lie ahead.
With your kindness and generosity🥺, I hope to survive the genocide and reclaim the path to achieving my doctorate 💉🩸
Your compassionate aid would mean the world to me and my family.🥺🙏❤🇵🇸✌

pairing: rin itoshi x reader
summary: you, anonymously, run a gossip corner in the schools daily newspaper. the question of your true identity arises in many questions each day, and you must act oblivious to it all at any costs– though, the only people who are aware of your identity are some of the seniors in your literary club, and your closest of friends. though, your anonymity is soon endangered when your quiet classmate, itoshi rin, learns of your little secret. can you charm him to keep your secret?
a/n: yay guys finally an update!! sorry i completely forgot about this, and i wrote this between exam season. it might be shitty i'm not sure, but i hope you like it.
You leaned back into your chair, sighing.
“Dear Gentlest Readers, how have you been? I hope that you’ve been healthy and whatnot, because the news I'm about to tell you is.. something. Are you aware that the Miss Two-Goody Shoes, Yumi Nakamura, has been secretly seeing a postgraduate, Mister Kaito Takahashi? How very obscene!.....”
You covered everything about your school– the events being organised to the latest flings of the students. But lately, nothing really interesting has been happening. It’s all the same. Someone dates someone, and in most of the cases, dumps them because the other person is ‘too much’.
Fuck This, you think to yourself as you get up. You were staying behind in school to write this article in more peace and quiet, which you’d generally not get at home. You walk out of the classroom to walk around, brainstorming about what to write.
Rin Itoshi, the brooding athlete. He wasn’t exactly a ray of sunshine– and didn’t intend to be one either. He mostly kept clear of any rumours, but that was hard to do since his female classmates would practically throw themselves at him. He’d brush them off with a glare.
But recently, he heard about an article in the ‘Gossip Corner’ of the student newspaper. He swears that he popped a vein on his head after what it was about.
“Looks like the Younger Itoshi and the Older Itoshi have a long-going feud. Judging by the cold glares between them when the All-Known Footballer came to pick up his sweet, younger brother…..”
How in the world did this person know anyway? This was something that was strictly restricted for his family only. However, he respects the fact that this anonymous person didn’t go into more details about the said ‘feud’.
He was at football practice, and had seemingly noticed that his bottle was missing. He excused himself and went up to get it. He glided through the stairs, running towards the classroom you were previously sitting in. He did see his water bottle standing on his designated table, but also a laptop on the table you were designated. He was a bit skeptical, and sure, he shouldn’t peek because there might be some personal stuff on there.
Still, he couldn’t help his curiosity, and decided to see anyway. On the laptop, there he saw a word with a paragraph half-written, starting with the words that could be recognized anywhere if you were a student of Rakuho High School.
His eyes widened as he inched closer, reading the paragraph. Oh, it was here this whole time?, he thought. He wouldn’t have given two shits if it weren’t for the mention of him and his brother in one of the articles.
To be honest, Rin didn’t really notice you a lot other than the times you were scolded for talking too much in class, or when you were being loud with your friends. And now, he noticed you clearly.
You came back into the class– carefree, and humming to the tune of an advertisement you were particularly fond of. So, imagine your surprise when you see Itoshi Rin hunched over your laptop, reading intently.
You shrieked as you hurried over, shutting the laptop as you stared up at him with furrowed eyebrows. Wow, he was a bit pretty when looked at up-close, you thought– but quickly brushing it off.
“So, you’re the snitch?”
Looks like someone got caught red-handed.
you slammed your hands against the hard wood table. scaring the shit out of shidou and aiku
“jesus fuck!” shidou puts a hand on his chest
“feisty. i like it!” aiku reacts, doing a little finger gun
“you didn’t say the magic word” sae murmurs, completely unbothered by your whole ruckus. you could say he’s used to it at this point
your eyes widened hearing sae’s response. did he finally agree to help you out?
“pretty please” you bat your eyelashes at your best friend, who wasn’t even looking at you by the way. he was currently reading something off what seems to be the latest edition of a sports magazine
sae silently flips the magazine onto the next page before looking at you dead in the eye. you watch his mouth open, ready to hear a certain sentence you’ve been wanting to hear for the past few weeks
“no.” he says flatly before turning his attention back to the magazine
both shidou and aiku break into boisterous laughter. only to be silenced by the librarian
“shh!” the librarian shushes. “one more ruckus from your table and i’m kicking the four of you out!” she whisper-yells, typing away on her computer
you dramatically slide into the seat next to sae, leaning on his shoulder as you reach over to tug his hand
“sae c’mon! you know i like him! so do me a favor as your favorite friend and set me up with your cute little brother” you cried out, tugging on his hand again and again
sae clicks his tongue in annoyance and snatches his hand back
“that’s exactly why i won’t set you up with him” sae
“and that is?!”
“that you like my little brother” sae says casually. closing the damned magazine and tossing it to shidou who was busy laughing at something on his phone with aiku
“that’s barely a reason” you point out, “would it kill you to help your friend that's desperate for a lover?" you add, dramatically falling limp onto his lap
sae pinches the bridge of his nose in sheer annoyance. he's heard of this dramatic monologue of yours for a hot minute. ever since he introduced you to his brother, you have not shut up about him since.
it was a mistake on sae's end. he shouldn't have brought you, along with shidou and aiku along for dinner back at his place but it was his mom who pestered him into bringing you guys over for dinner as his mother wanted to meet who sae's friends at college were
"i didn't know y/n-chan was into younger men" shidou quips, poking your nose as you glared daggers at his face
"rin is just like a year younger than sae, let alone me" you retort
"point still stands, y/n-chan" aiku chimes in a sing-song voice, "why do you like him anyway and not the hotter, better and wiser older brother here?" he continues
you dreamily sigh, still on sae's lap as you think about rin
"well first of all, he's a cutie. second, he gives me tsundere vibes but then again, his brother right here is the same kind so i'm pretty sure it runs in the family and... i guess that's about it" you list off the nice things you can say about rin from the top of your head, "no offense sae, i think you're hot and all but just not my type" you poke your tongue at your best friend who only flicks your forehead in retaliation
"that's it?" shidou asks, feeling a little anti climactic about the whole thing. to him it sounded like you had a good reasons on why you were crushing hard on the other itoshi
"oh! and the fact that he's 6'1" you clasp your hands together, "and also that he's trying so hard to be the star player at our local college team and i find it really cute" you gush
"he obviously doesn't have a choice but to try and beat his hotter and better older brother. right, rin?" sae nudges someone beside him.
wait a second, did he just call out to rin?
you quickly scramble off sae's lap, bumping your head against the table in the process
both aiku and shidou let out an "oof, that's gotta hurt" making you more embarrassed than you already are. you glared at them for a brief second before turning your head to the side to see rin looking all confused and to be honest, a little weirded out
"hey rin. what brings you here?" you sweetly wave at the younger itoshi in front of you.
from the corner of your eye, you can see sae rolling his eyes and mumbling "dumbass" under his breath. before you can smack sae, rin speaks up
"my brother" rin nods his head towards sae who only gives him a look of annoyance before motioning him to spit out whatever he came for
"coach says there's been a change of plans regarding the away games and wants to have a team meeting later at the field" rin reports all stoic
sae huffs, "you couldn't just texted me this information or?"
"you blocked my number, remember?" rin rolls his eyes, gripping on his sling bag.
you let out a little gasp and smacked sae on his shoulder upon hearing the news that your best friend has blocked his little brother's number.
"sae! why would you block your brother?!" you nag, wagging your finger in front of sae's face. sae swats your hand away before he attempts to grab rin for pushing him under the bus like that when you're around
"anyway, that's all. also, mom wants you home for dinner. bye guys, bye y/n" rin shyly waves at you before he trudges away out of the library, away from his brother's impending wrath
as rin disappears from sight, suddenly an idea pops into your mind. it's just a simple favor. the next time you see him, you'll ask rin for his help, and maybe, just maybe, it will lead to something more.
"that little runt.. he's gonna get it from me" sae hisses, pulling out his phone to probably unblock rin now that you know that he got his brother blocked. sae looks over at your face in case you were about to yell his ear off but instead he was greeted with a little smile on your face
oh no. he knows that devious smile of yours
"my dearest beloved sae.. put in a good word for me to rin, would ya?" you wink

"i thought of you with the birds, but you never sang for me."
There was a stream of fog rolling across the road, heralding a cold and bleak morning.
Your feet were planted on the dashboard of Itoshi Sae's BMW, the radio a far dissonance from the tension drowning the both of you in waves.
"Are you sure?"
He didn't sound angry or sad.
In fact, you never knew exactly what Sae was feeling.
His walls were too high, and the soft tenderness of his heart was often guarded by a ring of spikes many would not consider to climb. You were one of the lucky few who had wriggled your way under the famous prodigy's skin, latching like an open wound on his otherwise unblemished skin.
Now, after two years of an unfulfilling relationship, it was time to tear the bandaid off in one swift, numbing move.
"Yes."
You removed your feet from his dashboard, swiping at some dirt left behind. Breaking up with Sae was one thing, but leaving your dirty tracks was beneath you.
A hard swallow bundled through the hawthorn of nerves in your throat. You couldn't speak in case the spikes would prick you instead.
Those teal eyes never lifted from the road, the ticking of the indicator —showing right, a direction you wondered if you were smart enough to take when it came to protecting your heart from Sae—was blinking like a metronome at measured, three second intervals.
You expelled a shaky breath.
"Sae—"
"I think it's for the best."
He finally looked at you, and the shallow emotion on his blank face was all the confirmation you needed. Your heart sank to your stomach, your ribcage flat against the high seat of this luxurious car.
Another hard swallow. "Okay."
This was the first time you got out of his car without kissing his cheek. He would never ask you to commit that loving gesture, and you would never forget to give it to him no matter what. Now, his cheek tingled and your lips were cold.
"Bye bye."
Your whispered parting barely stirred the old ghosts lingering in the space you once sat.
You turned around and never looked back.
Perhaps, if you did, you would've changed your mind when the glossy sheen in his eyes made itself known in the partial darkness.
Life was quiet without you.
The sun was beating down the back of his neck, warming the silver chain he wore around his throat.
Sae sketched his listless eyes across the sprawling city right at his feet. The world was his, but he was growing apathetic to it day by day.
Cobblestone streets barely held their charm. The family-owned restaurant down the road selling home cooked Japanese food didn't lift his spirits anymore.
The world was colder now that you were gone.
Everyday, he would glance at his phone, wishing he could beat the timezones and distance to get back into your arms.
You were probably asleep right now, wrapped in your favourite kaftan blanket. Today's Friday, so you had work in a few hours. Sae knew you would head out for drinks at your local bar to decompress after another hectic week in the office. Maybe you would treat yourself to an ice-cream cone at a gas station on your drive back home.
He clenched his fists, exhaling a jagged breath.
Time seemed to slow down into molasses when he picked up his phone, shaking off his fears and hitting the call button on your contact card.
"Hello?"
It wasn't your voice on the other end.
Gruff and low, rough with sleep. The other man in your bed, the one you easily replaced him with, was waiting for your ex-boyfriend to speak.
Sae's throat went dry.
"Hello? Who is this?"
A sinking feeling dragged him under its current when his eyes were finally opened to the truth.
You had deleted his number.
His name under your contacts had changed. He remembered what it was before you two broke it off.
Sae bae. With a red heart and a padlock behind his name.
And now, you had done the impossible; you had forgotten him.
"Sorry." The lump in the back of his throat felt like coal, dredging his words with the minefield implosion of his hopes. "Wrong number."
The currents of time flowed as it did—in ebbs and whirls which made the fresh wound of your breakup with Sae turn into little more than an ugly scab in your memories.
Years later, you were married, walking down the street to a nearby grocery store when a headline on a news stand caught your eye.
You approached the newspaper with open curiosity, rereading a name you hadn't seen in a long time.
Japan's football prodigy, Itoshi Sae, announces his wife's pregnancy in a sweet Instagram post.
Something thrummed in your chest, painful and hot when you picked the print up, flipping to the stated page where that piece of news seared through your mind like a forest fire.
Itoshi Sae, Spain's midfielder, shows off his wife's baby bump in a new post that has fans excited for this new phase in his life.
Sae's smiling face was a blank slate in your static-filled mind. Setting the paper down, you pulled out your phone, dragging his social media handle up.
Your ex-boyfriend was a private man, but over the years, he grew comfortable enough in the public light to show off his wife in a way he never used to do for you.
Her dark eyes and smile were sweet and genial. She was pregnant, supporting a hand under her small bump while your auburn-haired ex had his arm around her, his face pressed into her neck.
They lived in a house by the sea, judging from your scrolling; his life unfurling before you like an unfamiliar book you once knew all the words to.
His wife looked healthy and well-taken care off; her smile was infectious and you found yourself turning wistful.
The gold band around your ring finger caught your attention, and you took a second to admire its shine.
Once upon a time, you thought a life like this with Sae could've been yours.
You envisioned your days by the beach, watching seagulls fly past the white clouds and feeling the waves lap at your toes. Maybe you would've been carrying his baby, one hand perched on your swollen belly while his soft teal eyes would find yours from across the stretch of sand.
Never would you have believed that the life you held onto had given way to another blessing you hadn't saw coming.
With all your heart, you wished Sae Itoshi the best.
He may have never sung for you, but you were relieved to discover he could sing for someone else.
And you were glad you had found another man who could give you the whole world and his heart, as well.
Miles away, where Sae's feet were dusted with sand, yours hit the pavement, high heels clicking off into the distance as you walked away from the news stand and the picture of his smiling, bright face—back into the safe embrace of your everyday life.
a/n: it's bittersweet how the currents of our lives may not intersect with the ones we want, but the ones we absolutely need.
mkay. I read of habits that they pick up and I when I was reading sae’s part on how he’d go feral if his ring broke-
…
maybe like … you could
elaborate on that 🤭🤔
i think it'd break in the middle of a match, or like, he loses it in the middle of one and gets so salty. like no one is safe. not his teammates, not his manager, not the random guy asking for an autograph. he at first, he wouldn't admit to you that he lost it. he wants time to look for it or fix it before you find out. he thinks you'll be mad 'cause he knows it was expensive, but you really wouldn't care much because you got it a couple years ago. anyone who talks to him immediately gets side eyes or eye rolls. is not dealing with shidous bs today. "shut up. If you're not going to help me find it, then you can fuck off." eventually you find out and find it funny, and he gets all salty on you, "why are you laughing? it's not funny." if he can't find it, he's in a sour mood for the next few months, no joke. not even you can cheer him up; nothing works. he loved that ring but wasn't sure why. it was like his kind of ritual to kiss it before and after a goal, and he always instinctively reaches for his neck to do so. will NOT heal from this wound UNTIL you get him a ring like it. still isn't the same as the one before, but atleast people are safe from his insults and a rude looks!
