Brows furrowed into confusion as the brunette continued to take cautious steps towards the woman. Had she come off as threatening? Given the strangers reaction, Chanel would have to guess an obvious yes. It seemed to be just another curse of using her powers for either positive or negative causes.

With an almost a m u s e d smile that she couldn’t seem to stifle, the huntress lifted her hands in a mock surrender. There was a hint of sarcasm that played in her tone as she finally spoke,  ❝ no need for that, darlin’. I’m not the one you need to be worried about, after all. ❞

*:・ﾟ✧ Air deflated from Ashtyn’s lungs, mostly because she didn’t know whether she could believe the other or not. She had thought she’d seen some kind of powers, but she had also been out for awhile, staking out the bar, waiting for something to strike. It was no question she was sleep deprived, but... she couldn’t have been seeing things, could she?

           “So you... aren’t a monster?” The question was tentative, knife still raised, just in case. It wasn’t the first time a supernatural being had lied to her to get out of being - well, killed. They never succeeded, but they never failed to try. “I saw you, though. Using some kinda... witchcraft.” Or some other powers. Ashtyn wouldn’t judge.

*:・ﾟ✧ “Uh, do me a favor?” The knife would do nothing, she was sure of that, but that fact didn’t stop Ashtyn from having her blade out in her hand, staring at the woman she knew wasn’t human. Granted, she didn’t know what she was, but definitely not human. Something she’d never faced before, obviously. “Don’t - don’t kill me, okay? I still have work t’do.”

A hand rested on the window of the driver’s side door so he couldn’t open it, staring up at him with determination. “I’m a new hunter, not a stupid one. I can help.”

       He knows he shouldn’t have taken his eyes away from her but honestly, he really believed she’d behave just as promised. It seems he’s been wrong– and oh god he’s just glad she’s okay and not bleeding to death in some forgotten hole. He sighs and rubs his face quickly. She’d be in more trouble if it were Dean here, and not him– but it doesn’t mean he’s happy.

            ❝ You sure? ‘Cause it looks like you killed a vamp. ❞

*:・ﾟ✧ She winced. Okay, it was exactly what it looked like. But there was no way in hell Ashtyn was just going to sit around and not do anything about the vampires, y’know? She was a hunter, after all. No matter how new to it she was. “I know I said I’d stay put, but...” she shrugged, dropping the head on the ground and stowing away her machete. “I didn’t want to. Besides, I handled myself.” She ushered down at the now dead vamp with a sheepish grin.

     “No kidding.” In the time they’d been researching, Jan had crowded two different books on either side of her laptop and had all but melted her brain trying to solve things before letting her forehead rest against her computers mouse trackpad, letting out a groan in the process. “If you count a new migraine on top of the one I just got rid of yesterday as something, then sure. Lead-wise, though, I’ve got jack squat.”

*:・ﾟ✧ Ashtyn slammed the book shut without a second thought, melting into the chair she was sitting in as she closed her eyes against the lights in the room. She was tired. Really tired. But what hunter wasn’t? They had a job to do - you pushed through all the shit to get the job done, no exceptions. “Let’s go get some grub,” she peeked over at Jan, giving a sigh. “I’ll work better with a full stomach.”
