@shotbelief
within the next couple days, iāll be moving this blog. i miss my mm, but i need a clean slate to get back into it. itāll be the same url, same characters ( with more added! ), just a clean start.
Then you shoot me, but I donāt think you can
when you realize how long your unintentional hiatus has been. i need to revamp and get things going here again.
āI need you to be sure. Power endures. We canāt bring down the senior partners, but for one bright, shining moment, we can show them that they donāt own us. You need to decide for yourselves if thatās worth dying for. I canāt order you to do this. I canāt do it without you. So weāll vote. As a team. Think about what Iām asking you to do, think about what Iām asking you to give.ā
me, very cautiously adding spike to my list. i have a lot to figure out since j*** w***don is a creep and made some gross choices in b.tvs that iām not sure how to handle yet.

He was a curious human. She found that since sheād become human everything hurt now, but it didnāt seem as if things hurt him. She pursed her lips when he said it looked worse than it was,Ā āI donāt knowā¦I cut my finger when I was cooking in the kitchen and it hurt pretty badā¦that really looks like it hurts, you should lay down,ā she told him.Ā Sheād dragged him into her humble basement flat when she saw heād been hurt. Something happened outside a lot of people got hurt, from the looks of it though he was the good guy in the scenario. Her eyes strayed to the bullet sheād removed from his arm,Ā āI just donāt understand how such a small piece of metal could do so much damage,ā Sally wasnāt familiar with guns at all. She wasnāt familiar with humans really either,Ā āOr how anyone couldā¦ā she stopped herself. How much humans hated each other was something she really couldnāt grasp. It upset her too much to think about. Sure there were a few bad apples back. Oogie was the worse, most of the time it was just mischief, and no one was as fragile as a human was.Ā
āAre you hungry? Iāll cook,ā she said to change the subject.Ā
Ā Ā The pain is still there. Bullet after bullet hadnāt changed his ability to feel, only his ability to press it down and build on it. It always catches up eventually, when the adrenaline dissipates -- when heās trying to will his mind to sleep and his bones ache, his muscles tense and unable to relax enough.Ā But heās learned to channel it, to suppress the pain and transform it into something useful.
Ā Ā Pain can be compartmentalized.
Ā Ā Heās grateful for the help and he tries his best not to alarm her more than the gunfire outside may have before. There were still good people -- people untouched by war, by tragedy -- hell, there were people who took that trauma and knitted hope from pain. Frank isnāt one of them. But, the fight and drive he has -- is for those that deserve to stay that way.
Ā Ā ā Iāll be okay --Ā ā he pauses, frowning just a moment.Ā ā Youād be surprised what people can do...Ā ā Maybe itād be better not to know, period. But, itās a reality and one he knows sheās faced with, given the mess sheās brought into her flat.Ā ā Only if it wonāt put you out -- whatās your name? ā

Ā Ā Ā Ā ā do you miss home? ā she leans over the railing on the officersā deck ā quieter than second class, and having a brother on the crew is no bad thing ā and stares out at the ocean. it seems endless, and it makes bella feel small. sailing doesnāt bother her, her stomach doesnāt churn unless the waters are choppy, but she still thinks she prefers having a solid place that is hers, and not this emptiness.Ā ā you never seem to stick around, is all. do i have to keep saving for tickets to see you? ā
Ā Ā The question shouldnāt be that complex. His back is pressed to the railing and his eyes shift from his sister to the deck. Itās an easy answer, isnāt it? A yes or a no. Itās aĀ yes, but -- more so. The openness of the sea provides him with a sense of calm, despite how vast, he has a sense of purpose out there. In the city, he feels trapped, at times, as if the walls might crumble around him at a momentās notice. Thereās a lot on the line at home.
Ā Ā He yanks himself back to the present, flashing a smile instead.Ā ā You think Iām going to say anything thatāll stop you from coming to see me? ā He teases. Though, the truth is, heās glad sheās there.Ā ā I do miss it, ā seriousness touches his voice and he presses his lips together, as if to think harder on his next words. Home was different and he wonders sometimes if itās more him than the place or even his family. He misses the past. ā But coming home -- sometimes I still feel homesick. ā
steve has officially moved to his own blog. follow him here.Ā

Ā Ā Ā Ā nicky is a reminder of homeāthe good, warm parts of home that adelaide misses. sometimes, when thinking of him doesnāt fill her with worry, she remembers their childhood, how they were a united front against the iron will of their parents, having all kinds of escapades. out here isā¦so foreign, so alien, and adelaide is dealing with things she never thought herself capable of, and isnāt it good, to know that thereās still a little good to be found, even among the mud and blood? addie tries to find it, but sometimes itās not there at all. sometimes these battlefields and aid stations are all that she can see.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā ā i like being like this. i like this me. ā has she ever, really? adelaideās confidence in her abilities as a nurse has been hard-won, something sheās not always had. and she has dodgy days, of course, days when itās all too much and she canāt seem to do anything rightā¦but sheās good at this. if the world had to go to hell, sheās glad sheās doing something good to help heal it.Ā ā what dāyou reckon theyāre doing, mum and dad? bet itās all red cross parcels and writing letters. iād have gone mad if i was stuck home doing that. ā
Ā Ā Memories of home arenāt always warm. Warmer than the present maybe -- but still thereās moments of bitterness that creep in, that he fights off with thoughts of how privileged he must be to still remember such petty resentment while in the middle of a war. Addie is a reminder of the good things, of what it meant to have someone on his side against the rigid structure that their parents forced on them.
Ā Ā ( they were always meant to be whatever their parents molded them to be )
Ā Ā Nicky has never been more proud that their paths are molded by themselves -- unfortunately theyāre also wrapped in violence, in death. What he wants is to focus on whatās good about their lives -- whatās good about sitting in this moment with her, knowing that sheās alive and as well as she could be. Theyāre both alive.
Ā Ā ā You could be worse, ā itās a tease, said with a smile lifting his expression. What he means is that heās proud of her, that he too, likes how sheās turned out and that sheās doing something important -- something with purpose. But the brotherly tease is meant to lighten the tone, if only a little. Nicholas snorts, thinking of how his parents must be doing.Ā ā Selecting every word they say out of a list of appropriate sentiments, ā he shakes his head,Ā ā They would have suffocated you. --itās good that you left, regardless of how Iām sure theyāre feeling. ā
Are you saying I was manufactured? for @ilsirya

hope everyoneās doing well!Ā
Ā Ā iām thinking of going iconless on this blog for a while. the way my laptop situation is rn, making icons is a pain. but also, i want to get this blog active again.
Ā Ā i just hope people are fine with iconless or donāt care. iām making moves to bring this blog back from the dead.Ā
brknlostsouls asked: Why do you look so troubled ? ( Arwen )
( @brknlostsoulsā )
Ā Ā He fears the wariness that threatens to settle in his bones -- the doubts that creep in at the edges of his mind. It isnāt that he doubts who he is, his purpose as a leader -- as one of the key figures in the coming fight against Sauron. But there are lives that he has to protect. If he falters, if any of his decisions lead them astray -- the results could be devastating.
Ā Ā It isnāt rare for Aragorn to sink into his thoughts. Though, the gentleness of Arwenās voice pulls him free. Itās quiet around them. The peace of Rivendell is home and he allows it to sooth him. Though, when he hears her, he offers a faint smile. Faint as it is, it still meets his eyes, brightening when he looks upon her.
Ā Ā ā The road ahead is long, itās going to test them.Ā ā he begins,Ā ā Iām worried.āĀ Not afraid, not swayed from the importance, but he believes if he didnāt face the weight of it, he wouldnāt be ready for what was to come.
astrificareā:
Ā Ā Ā Ā ā i should bloody hope so. youāve only known me all my life. ā adelaide isnāt entirely sure she feels the levity in her voice; itās so easy, sometimes, to get dragged down by the darkness that has enveloped the world, to find herself lost in the smoke with no lantern to light her way. she has always been a worrier, and now it seems that those worries are magnified. she sees nicky in every soldier that comes in, just for a moment. death lurks around corners, and every day she sees things that training could never have prepared her for. itās worth it, but itās a dark, life.
Ā Ā Ā Ā but not now, not this moment. nicholas is here, whole and well ā as well as any of them are ā and she is going to cling onto that, and her brother, with both hands.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā she loops her arm through his. better already, she thinks. for this brief time, at least.Ā ā and itās for a good cause, all the regulations. i understandĀ āem, even when i hate them. i donāt regret being here. ā
Ā Ā A smile curves at his mouth, bumping a shoulder against hers affectionately. Itās an attempt to keep the spirit light, fully aware of how quickly the darkness settles in, waiting for the gaps, waiting to infiltrate yet again. For a brief moment, they can at least pretend to be okay.
Ā Ā The world isnāt. Life and death blend so close together and Nicholas fears that itās creeping around the corner with alarming consistency. He knows heās not immune to its grasp, heās no more lucky than the rest of the men whoāve died.
Ā Ā ( except that heās still standing for now. )
Ā Ā Ā Theyāre arms loop together and he tries to let the darker thoughts retreat back into the corner of his mind. This is good. Heās grateful to see her, to know that sheās as well as any of them could be. ā Itās good to see you like this, ā he notes.Ā ā We have more purpose here than we ever would at home.Ā ā
