Green Day - Stray Heart
1 week of staying at home i think has given me the same result of getting hit over the head with a hammer twice
are u ever so touch-starved u think abt a kiss n feel ur guts turning
i firmly believe that if long, really important hugs had a sound they would sound like concerning hobbits by howard shore
i am ready to hear an mcr song for the first time again
Why would MCR go to Oakland, a smaller city, rather than, like, somewhere in San Francisco, the biggest city in the Bay? It's because Gerard's still terrified of that guy who yelled "you better stay on that side of the street motherfucker" when they were in SF
i just saw graffiti and all it said was ‘bagels!’….i’m really happy somebody is passionate enough about bagels to spray paint it on a wall
Am I the only person who thought this was really fucking funny
A lot of the really funny moments in Lord of the Rings come from Tolkien playing with language like this, where we have relatively formal, archaic, “high” language responded to with informal, modern, “low” language.
another hilarious example:
my absolute favorite example of tolkien switching registers in this way is
I CAN HEAR YOU, SAMWISE GAMGEE
It’s a rhetoric device called “bathos”, and it’s considered an effective way of bringing lofty rhetoric back down to earth.
I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have bags under my eyes
What’s popping, you ask? Why, it’s my joints.
