I hope 2015 treated you well. 

2015 has been nice to me. I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot and have settled more into myself, whoever that is going to be. I’m more than halfway through my degree now and that’s both exciting and terrifying. I know, study wise, next year will be tough but I am hoping I can handle it.

I still haven’t accomplished many of my goals when it comes to interpersonal relationships but I’m starting to think that reaching milestones by a certain aren’t as important as just reaching them in the end.

I’m very happy with the direction I’m going in. I finally feel like I have a sense of place and friends that I can connect with. I am so grateful for my friends. Sometimes I stop and think about how good my friends are to me, and I honestly want to cry in the best of ways.

I am so lucky to have met so many wonderful people over the years - in person, online, through mutual interests, through mutual friends. I am so glad that my life is filled with people who care and people who love and people who allow me to be a part of their lives.

I hope 2016 will be good. I am hoping for the best.

life is okay for the most part except where i don’t feel much at all and don’t feel comfortable where i’m living and am mostly keen to just go home for the break which isn’t for another month or so

and in between all of that is uni work (placement and exams and study) and social commitments and just a whole lot of things that i don’t particularly want to face the reality of right now.

i’m okay, i think. i’m practicing too much avoidance but i’m talking to people about it. i think i’m getting help, or at least more than i used to. i still enjoy parts of my day, which is enough for now, really.

sometimes i get into these states of numbness and they stretch on for days or weeks and yeah there are blips of happiness but i usually just feel numb. or don’t feel at all. and then something will break it and i never know what that trigger will be.

it feels good to cry every now and then but i’m not sure this is normal or what is normal or if normal is even a standard i should aim for. 

the other day someone told me to relax, not to stress so much and i was confused because i thought i was fine, that i hadn’t come off as worried.

i am always too apologetic and the people around me notice. there are so many things about myself that don’t sit right but i’m afraid of change. i say i’m lazy but i’m not, i just don’t have the motivation for much beyond what i’m told to do.

i’m afraid of who i am but only when i’m having thoughts like these, breakthroughs and then when i’m done, i’ll be fine. not because of some epiphany, some great change, but because once i’ve written it down, i can forget.

today i took some high school students for a lil chat session during their work experience and it made me realise that i am an adult. as much as i don’t want to be or don’t think i am, i am an adult in their eyes, and probably the eyes of many (most) others.

it’s a little terrifying and a lot empowering and my life has changed so radically in the past few years but i think it’s for the better. i think i am becoming better, or at least becoming more me and that is good.

this was possibly (probably?) my first ~proper ~real fic. i still sort of like the tone, even if the pairing (sort of zayn/liam) and the fandom (1d) are both things i've left behind a while ago. it's one of those fics that is closer to my poetry-style writing and i like it.

untitled not!fic

so once upon a time, i used to write a lot of fic plots out, and then i realised that tends to make me less motivated to write the actual fics /o\ i'm one of those in-the-moment writers and so sometimes i look back on my not!fics and wish i'd made them into real ones.

this one, an alternate reality fic for 1d where liam and cisgirl!louis meet as fans on an xfactor forum online, is one of my favourites

be nice to me

at some point, i transitioned from seriousish fics to jokey happy ones. this is about louis buying cucumbers and lube; you can figure out which category it sits in. i love this fic, and i love that i wrote it for someone. i also love that the title is completely unrelated to the fic.

this was for an exchange/fic fest thing and i don't think i ever admitted to writing it? anyway, please heed the warnings but this sits firmly in one of my favourite 1d fics i've ever written

a 5sos fic that i liked a lot when i wrote it and still like now. i miss writing 5sos, if only because i'd never have to do any britpicking or americanizing. also because they're funny and fun and i still like their music. good times, 5sos fandom, good times.

breathe, stop

as far as kinkfics i've written go, this is one of my favourites. a breathplay ficlet for my favourite vixx pairing (taekwoon/hakyeon), this is short but (imo) good.

accidental baby acquisition

nowhere near the first kpop fic i wrote, also nowhere near my fave. but this fic is here because i think it's funny and i think more people should read it and because jackson/jaebum has become one of my favourite ships in got7 and i totally believe jackson would be terrified and amazed by young children.

kiss me if it's real

catboys fic! for the bangtan exchange - i still really like this a lot. also, btsx helped me make so many new friends and i'm so glad and grateful for that.

i'm sure i have more fic that i like, or fics that i like more, but i think this is enough, haha. i tried to pick a variety and i am really proud of all that i've written over the years. hopefully this is interesting to someone but otherwise, it's been a good thing for me to do - i feel a bit more motivated to write this year now :)
