The hiss of her name through Belle’s tightened lips had to be one of her favourite sounds, even in situations as dire as this. In some odd sense, it offered her a safety net that was undeniable and irresistible. The Manager had a way of making everybody feel this sense of comfort, a warmth that spreads throughout one’s heart, enabling them to open up without an ounce of shame. After all, from the time Remielle had met this strong-willed woman, she could sense that the two of them had a bond that was.. unique, unspoken. Naturally, given the way things had unfolded since.. the feelings were rather reciprocated.
There was this attentive look in her eyes as she listened to everything that came from her mouth; the unfiltered truth for once coming to light and into the mind of a woman who would undoubtedly give her heat for this later. “I couldn’t help it,” she playfully retorts, her right index finger brushing a few strands of disobedient pink hairs behind her ear. “I’ve never been too fond of sharing. You know that.” Even when Velina showcased interest in dates with Belle, despite the knowledge that their dynamic would always prevail, there was always this sickly feeling attached. Possessiveness wasn’t a good quality (unless it was sexually, obviously), so Remielle did her best to suppress it whenever there was something that irked her.
It was why she had taken her lover’s advice in the first place.
The Void Hunter listens to everything that comes from the proxy’s mouth, and she takes a minute to take it all in. Her eyes have that serious expression hidden in them again as the truth finally hit her. Pink lips part to respond, only to stop when the slight parting shows, as if she had been dragged off into another world before she could get those words out. Admittedly, she had been a little too on the nose with Vivian, but how could that be her fault?
Maybe the internal bickering over faults could be resolved later…
“And why doesn’t this woman know we’re a couple? I thought it was rather obvious by the way I was eye-fucking you,” her response was smooth, her right thumb and index finger coming up to cradle her chin. “Alright, it looks like I have some reconciling to do. Would it be smarter to give her some more time with your brother first? He might actually make a move over there.”
Remielle knew he wouldn’t. The proposal was merely an excuse to buy herself an extra ten minutes to collect her own thoughts before confronting the issue that had brewed between competitiveness and jealousy. With a breath, she sits herself down on one of the fold-out chairs, picking up her drink and drank it down rather fast through the straw she had. There was a very real possibility that they would be sisters in law someday. She couldn’t respond to this matter as nonchalantly as she usually does.. Well, she could, but it would piss off her girlfriend more than she already is. “Alright, I’m going. Wish me luck.”
Putting the empty carton on the ice box, Remielle follows the remembered path of where Vivian and Wise ran off to, eventually finding the woman she had scared off with her sharpened tongue. She offers a smile.
“Long time no see. It appears the two of us need a good, long chat.” The Void Hunter remains a slight distance, with a small sigh escaping her lips as she bridges together how she wants to open this conversation properly. “Look.. How do I put this? Wise really isn’t my type,” she says, looking off to the side momentarily. “No offence, but I think I have a preference for women with blue hair who often lose to me at Foodie Fighters.”
