First of all the finale episode was not what I was expecting, I haven't read the manga so this is all new to me. Comparing the big finale boss battle with the past seasons, S1 and S2 were the stone wars, S3 was with Ibara in Ishigami village, while S4 Cour 1 and 2 was with Xeno and Stanley. All of them involved them having fights and battle tactics, yet in this finale episode, it's not a big fight, but a conversation.
A conversation between two civilisations, albeit Why man was a mechanical parasite but still has intelligence like human civilization may be even more. With two different ideologies about life, who was preserving life as the more advantageous choice, while the other viewed their life as something to live despite having an end.
What Senku says might determine their fate of the people on earth. And that tension really gave me the excitement watching this.
What really shocked me was the end when Why Man left, only one Why Man stayed. The Why Man was like Senku. The Why Man wants to know more about Earth because it excites Why Man. Just like how science excites Senku. In both civilisations, there is always this person who is intrigued by the world around them, and want the answers to them.
I found that absolutely beautiful. Despite Inagaki not really writing the best in dr stone ahem (my complaints on characters one dimensionality and unexplored themes still remain) ... I found this last episode quite beautiful, celebrating our achievements as humans, that bringing the world together makes us do great things. Even if our progress rate isn't as fast as what Why Man wanted, we still did a lot to reach this point with all the discovery we made. And with the time machine going forward it seems we still are moving forward with hope, one small step at a time.
And we cannot forget our curious beans Senku and Why Man, it's people like Senku, and why man wanting to know more that Inagaki FINALLY shows that curiosity is a dangerous yet exciting thing for us humans (and also mechanical parasite haha) and encouraging us to explore that curiosity because it excites us.
Lastly I want to thank everyone in the dr stone community, my mutuals 💖🥺 and also all the writers, artists and rebloggers out there. I've been in the dr stone community for like 10 months and I see everyone's love for the show, their criticisms, their dissatisfaction, their enthusiasm, their excitement, everything and it's the best community that I have joined ❤️💖 so far thank you for making this a safe space for everyone to share their ideas and ships, being there for one another ❤️💖💖💖 Even if the show ends now, I'll always remember how this show and the community always had my back.
I'm 10 billion sure we're getting new dr stone content soon, get excited!
OMG OMG OMG I LOVE THIS EPISODE SO MUCH, at the beginning where Senku was woken up earlier because Xeno set the timer earlier to let Senku be sentimental was so good. He was thinking about his papa 🥺
The best thing about Dr stone imo is the relationship between Byakuya and Senku I literally got teary eye at the opening where Byakuya was sure Senku could rebuild civilization. Their bond lasted thousands of years. Ahhh so beautiful. Haunting the narrative my faves.
Kohaku being excited on the ship was soo cuteee like even as a normal person we often don't go to space. She really must be glad to be there. And her vision never disappoints hahah. But I kinda of don't like how one off Kohaku is just saying some mile stone every few times 😓 Sorry Kohaku
Oh and the part where the circuit broke that is PEAK DR STONE CLIMAX idk how did it get this series so long to get this good in the last cour. Like Stanley maneuvering the rocket parts but at the fourth part of the screen went blank! And who do you know come up, RYUSUIII! Like I know it was kinda predictable butttt at the moment it was believable that they have no other way.
Hahahaha, this was the most fun I had in a Dr stone episode. Two more episodes....I will miss this series.
It's been a while since I'm here lol but I managed to catch up with cour 3 of season 4 and honestly it's not as good as I hoped for but some moments were great 💖
And congratulations to StanXeno 😭🙏🏻 I was hoping they would animate that panel that man was caressing his lips 😭

i will never stop loving how dr stone gives us a stoic supergenius protagonist who's always idolizing science and logic and stuff and then instead of going the easy route and using that framework of cold logic to make him some aloof holier-than-thou figure who's above such petty things as "emotions" and "friendship" the show goes no! senku is actually a deeply compassionate person because that is in fact the logical conclusion to come to. there is no such thing as a lone genius. science is a collaborative effort, built upon the shoulders of those who came before. all of senku's vast mountains of knowledge would amount to absolutely nothing if it wasn't backed up by taiju's strength, yuzuriha and kaseki's crafting skills, chrome's ingenuity, the practical experience of people like ukyo and ryusui, the many individual skills of each and every person in the kingdom of science, the tens of thousands of years of human progress it took to build up those stores of knowledge in the first place, and the eternal faith and support of his father byakuya. every action senku takes is not simply borne out of devotion to science, but out of devotion to this specific understanding of science - the understanding that scientific progress is inextricably linked to society itself and that one cannot exist without the other. senku may be the smartest man alive (not to mention the de facto leader of humanity's remains), but he still recognizes that he is only a single man, no more or less important to humanity's survival than anyone around him.
