The Final Cast of Test of Hope
Sleepy beekeeper Chou Arakaki apprenticed under one of the most skilled beekeepers in Japan, until she gained the confidence and funds to run her own bee farm at the age of 13. Chou was made famous for her successful online store, with which she vends her own brand of organic honey and wax, in addition to her acclaimed scientific journals. She is positive, friendly, and loves to give people gifts, in addition to being tiny, comfortably dressed, and equipped with a passion for Lolita styles.
Androgynous superstar Natsu Hashimoto learned her craft from the streets, until she was scouted at an open mic club, and introduced to the world of being a rap idol in Japan at the age of 14. She became truly famous due to her numerous albums, awards, and rabid fan base (who can never quite seem to decide on the young girl’s gender). She is bodacious, gregarious, and lacking in sufficient quantities of sleep every night, in addition to being tall, blonde, and something of a sight to see, no matter one’s gender or orientation due to the confusion surrounding her private parts.
Hanako Hayashi > Gardener
Unobtrusive gardener Hanako Hayashi blossomed into something great when her family moved to the country, and she was allowed to grow her own fruits and vegetables, studying carefully the books and disputes on how to grow good food. This grew into a real career when she began experimenting with plant breeding, and creating unusually resilient fruits at the age of 13. She is people-pleasing, friendly, and agreeable, in addition to being green-haired, tall, and a little strangely proportioned, all things considered.
Chie Ishihara > Literary Editor
Neurotic editor Chie Ishihara became excellent at her craft through a study in grammar and good story-telling coupled with revising her peer’s essays for assignments, to the point where she was editing major magazines and newspapers by the age of 13. Chie was made famous by her 99% success rate for any novel she edited, in addition to being chosen to edit film scripts and science journals along the way, and has only added to her list of successes by entry into Hope’s Peak Academy. She is driven, keen on being professional, and very motivated to help others, in addition to being wide eyed, small-statured and youthful.
Yuriko Mitsushita > Linguist
Self-centered linguist Yuriko Mitsushita honed her craft from frequent travels with her affluent parents, with a passion and natural talent like none other for the understanding and communicating with various languages. She is noted for her multitude of translated books, and her entry to Hope’s Peak will only assist her in her rise to fame. She is emotive, selfish, and very good at talking about herself (in any language, no less!), in addition to being beautiful, well dressed, and open with smiles and a wink for anyone who should compliment her the correct amount.
Yoku Yoshida > Carnival Director
Proud entertainer Yoku Yoshida learned the ways of a successful carnival from her parents mistakes, as she became more and more obsessed with money and success. She became famous for her interactive relationship with the carnival, and her skill and charisma with the media. She is prideful, passionate, and good with kids, in addition to being tall, with long brunette hair, dressed in a whacky carnival-school girl chic.
Teruo Ezura > Double Exposure Photographer
Blind photographer Teruo Ezura became dedicated to photography because of the nostalgic feelings it generated in him, and stayd dedicated because of the dysfunctional creativity he was able to show to the world. He became famous for his ghostly photos, appearing in popular science magazines for their technical value and as a clue as to how blindness can affect the other senses. Teruo is cocky, self centered, and reacts terribly to criticism, with an angular face and white hair kept back in a ponytail.
Fumiya Jirou > SHSL Glassblower
Patient glassblower Fumiya Jirou has spent the majority of his pubescent years in and out of glassblowing shops, learning the trade of the one hobby that has piqued his interest from the variety that he had tried as a child. He rose to fame based on the high value and artistic integrity in each of his pieces, in addition to the time he’s spent with the other famous members of the craft, and his masterpiece item which sold for ¥200,000 to a glassblowing museum. Fumiya is initially tolerant, though less than smart and quick to anger, in addition to being heavily muscular, fairly unkept, with scars running up and down his arms from failed glassblowing attempts.
Aichi Karada > Robotocist
Grouchy robotics engineer Aichi Karada began his long career in robotics as a preschooler, starting from the proverbial bottom until, now, he’s here. Aided by his doctor father’s anatomy lessons and funding, Aichi became famous through the multitudinous competitions he has taken home trophies from, in addition to his popular blog dedicated to his exploits. Though arrogant and coarse, his small stature and childish appearance offset his manners.
Satoru Kato > Literary Historian
Romantic literary historian Satoru Kato studied his way through classical literature until he was writing and publishing analytic theses on some of the most famous pieces of English literature. He is regarded as among the best amateur translators of classic literature in Japan. He is bubbly, passionate, and always does his best to see the beauty in anything and everything in addition to being tall, red-haired, and somewhat bulky.
Kotaro Kuroda > SHSL Truck Driver
Reserved trucker Kotaro Kuroda began driving under his father’s tutelage by the time he was old enough to see over the wheel; his mother having died at an early age, and his father always at work, he found himself continually tagging along with his father, until they became one of the most successful truck driving tag teams in Japan. He became famous for his never-late shipments of anything from baby-wipes to war materials, competent in driving in rain, snow, and tsunami. Kotaro is gruff, though polite, and considers himself a tough guy, in addition to being sandy blonde, oft equipped with a stereotypical trucker’s hat, and arguably a little too old for high school.
Hiro Morikawa > Graffiti Artist
Passionate (and illegal) artist Hiro “Hero” Morikawa is an avid political activist, who expressed his hatred of all things government through his stunning and controversial art. He grew to fame due to the national interest sparked by his wall art and surprising marketability of the best of his pieces. Hiro is aggressive, somewhat pretentious, and incredibly long winded about his political ideals, in addition to being lean, scruffy haired, and equipped with a gas mask and paint cans wherever he goes
Takayuki Shigeo > SHSL Film Director
Arrogant Film Director Takayuki Shigeo began sending in scripts to big movie companies at 9 years old, to surprisingly good results. From these humble beginnings, learning to wield the shittiest of camcorders imaginable, Takayuki grew to be a world renowned director, responsible for many hit movies, and famous for his brilliant storytelling from behind the camera. Takayuki is creative, open minded, though hasty to jump to conclusions, in addition to being a little ridiculously fit, and quite popular with the ladies over all.
