This has been the best week!!! Favourite fandom week yet!!

I've been feeling like such a weird outlier for liking Mensah and TV Mensah and shipping MensahBot :') Way to niche down! (Not even getting into the equal amount of whump and angst I think they both deserve. Full blorbo experience!)

And this week! All the art and discussions in the lead up to the event on tumblr and discord! All these new faces and names and familiar faces and names that I didn't think were interested in Mensah-Murderbot? There has been so much?! Gen and shipping and queerplatonic and an entire messy spectrum inbetween!!

And then those art and discussions make more art and discussions, and seeing more people get interested and talking about the two of them, and all the different perspectives on them, and seeing people be excited about them for being THEM instead of as background content to other fics/art. They're a 2for1 deal and being celebrated and discussed as such!!!

And to see people making conversations about them unprompted! I don't have to start the conversations, other people are starting it! Sharing their ideas and thoughts and headcanons and takes and different versions and interpretations of how much these two love and care for each other!!!

I don't feel like some weird outlier person spamming about an unwanted character/ship! I don't feel like I have to talk about them constantly or nobody else will!

I can just go with the flow and the community and enjoy the conversations! There has been backread?! I've had Mensah-Murderbot backread about ideas and meta and discussions? I've had MensahBot fanart inspired by the backreads?! We have content to consume!!!???

So happy, the emotions are exploding and melting, I am collapsing.

This is what I thought I would get in joining fandom and it wasn't happening and I was so crushed, but now it IS and I've found my people and connected with them and having all kinds of conversations across all the discords and tumblr and even reddit has been warming up to my posting, and we're all talking about our shared love and enjoyment of whatever the fuck is going on between Mensah and Murderbot..............

Thank you everyone making this event happen. I'm not even an organiser, I'm just so happy!

Thank you everyone in 2.0 for organising it, thank you everyone in New Tideland encouraging me to advertise and promote it, thank you everyone in Murderserver and Moistbot for joining me in conversations and brainstorming, thank you tumblr for having so many people see the event posts and contribute amazing artwork (so beautiful so creative), thank you reddit for being oddly nice and encouraging and excited to see how I enjoy Mensah, thank you those two people on bluesky who like my posts, thank you facebook group for being incredibly wholesome and enthusiastic.

Thank you everyone who is creating, writing, drawing, commenting, kudoing, sharing, cheering on from the sidelines and thinking good vibes at us. Thank you those who "don't go here" but are happy for us and encouraging us.

Ahhh there's a community I fit in, in this bigger broader community, I've found it I've found my people and my place ahhhh so many new friends this is great.
