Pain. It was like nothing Yuu had ever felt in his life. The deep gashes stung badly enough, but something else was wrong, he could feel it⊠Any little bump sent the area near the elbow in his right forearm into agony. The bones⊠did they break? He couldnât even move his fingers. Shit, shit, shit⊠What if he could never hold a fan onstage again without his hand trembling? What if heâd managed to survive this ordeal only to find that he couldnât do his job properly ever again because of a stupid mistake?! The thought was enough to make him cry if the pain wasnât making him tear up already. But, god, the blood, bleedingâŠhe almost died! He and Mitsuru almost died! Almost⊠that actually just almost happened⊠Because of a stupid⊠stupid⊠Right, tearing up was an understatement. Yuu shook with sobs, though he tried so hard to keep his arm still. He had taken off his jeans and wrapped them around his arm to keep on pressure and soak up the blood and⊠if his arm really was broken then hopefully it would stay stable!
Yuu barely stood, half-crumpled against a far wall as his left hand held onto the denim as tightly as he dared, looking rather pathetic in his t-shirt over short navy boxer briefs, as he began to hear the voices of the long dead. He had to fight to pay attention through the pain, but listening made him feel worse. Noelle⊠He just sobbed harder, and gritted his teeth as he tried to keep his diaphragm from hitting his arm. Yuu wished he could give everyoneâs exact individual words the attention they deserved, he really did. He wished he could feel angry whenever someone he had beef with spoke up. But just hearing the voices of his friends, whether pleading for them to leave or go, just hurt his heart and left him feeling like a helpless piece of debris caught in an emotional whirlwind. But even then it was hard to concentrate⊠(He did manage to feel an extra layer of discomfort when he heard from Najwa and WIREâŠmaybe some things would never change.)
By the time Lucianâs (oh god Lucian) voice faded out, Yuu was nearly doubled over and crying. It didnât even occur to him until the voices of those still alive reached his ears that heâd be expected to make a decision. A decision about whatâŠ? He felt faint, breathing was hard⊠how much blood was he really losingâŠ? Fuck⊠But⊠Wait⊠The⊠the dead. They could⊠be put into those synthetic bodies. And they had to decide⊠whether to stay and help or just leave immediately.
âMmghâŠâ
Yuu started to feel ill on top of everything else. His first thought when thinking of those synthetic bodies was that ripped up Monobear he found in that security room⊠Those plastic-looking guts⊠everything a body should have except fake⊠They would be in fake bodies⊠They deserved new lives, even if Yuu couldnât forgive some of them. But imagining them living like that, basically the same as Ichigo⊠it just made him feel sick to his stomach. But⊠that wasnât the decision he had to make. Usami would probably put them into the synthetic bodies anyway. Yuu had to decide whether to stay or to leave. He knew what he wantedâŠbut as person after person around him expressed their desire to stay, Yuu felt more and more discouraged, defeatedâŠ.on top of everything else. By the time he could speak up, he sounded so shaky and deflated. He could barely make his voice loud enough to carry through the room.
âIâŠI n-need t-to go⊠to a hospital⊠K-Kouzo needs a doctor⊠a-as soon as possible⊠h-he always has⊠Wh-Who knows how⊠good a job⊠any of us h-have done⊠a-after his⊠injuries⊠I⊠I-IâŠâ
Yuu slowly slid down the wall until he was sitting crumpled up on the ground, pathetically cradling his arm as sobs began to come back.
âI⊠I want to⊠l-leave⊠I h-hate⊠this place⊠lâŠleaveâŠâ
It had been chaotic so far, with the scramble to avoid the AI, but Yuu and Mitsuru both were lying on the ground, as Aichi slowly approaches. Flanked by two Monobears, he now appears downright threatening, compared to the boy who stood in the courtroom before. Not anymore was he a student, but someone hellbent on taking revenge, as was clear in his expression. The two others were still on the ground, and despite attempts to rise, they were too tangled up in one another to free themselves in time. The mastermind was almost upon them.
A slight grin spreads over his face as he stands a little ways away from them, and he lifts a finger, directing it at Mitsuru. Looking thoroughly frightened, Mitsuru turns his bandaged face slightly, as the Monobear to the right of Aichi prepars to spring forward onto the prone form of the RPG Maker, claws out and ready to taste blood.
âŠ
âŠâŠ.
âŠ. ???
The attack never came. If you were anyone but Mitsuru, you watch as the Monobear came within a chilling few feet of taking your classmateâs life before the light in his evil red eye suddenly went out and the bear toppled to the ground like a broken, lifeless doll.
A thump from Aichiâs side indicated that the other Monobear did just the same.
What the heck⊠?
Aichi himself looks equally as confused as you, but confusion turns to immediate horror as a metal clamp shoots out and locks itself around his neck, roughly whisking him away to something you knew all too well by now.
Thereâs a moment of complete stillness in which the realization that Ichigo â and Monobear â are gone settles in.
Where did they goâŠ? Thereâs no time to ponder on that question when multiple Monobears step out from out of seemingly nowhere, approaching the group. Thereâs not many of them, surprisingly enough â at least three, surrounding the class in a triangle formation.
And unfortunately for Yuu, one was heading right toward him.
Yuu whimpered and trembled and backed away from the Monobear, his white-knuckled grip on the wheelchair dragging Mitsuru along with him at every step. When the Monobear raised its claws and waddled more quickly, Yuu screamed and ran for it. He turned the wheelchair around and moved his legs as fast as they could go. However, since he was looking over his shoulder at the chasing Monobear, the all-important âknowing where you were goingâ part completely slipped his mind.
When the wheelchair collided with the back corner of a podium, everything seemed to run in slow motion. Yuuâs death grip on the wheelchair made it so he toppled along with the wheelchair. In fact, he went over the wheelchair in a soumersalt as it tipped forward. When Yuuâs shoulder hit the ground, he let go of the chair and his arms spread wide trying to⊠catch Mitsuru, save him from the fall, but his reflex was useless as in the same split second he felt most of the rest of his body fall not on the floor, but on top of poor Mitsuru. The heavy wheelchair landed on Yuuâs outstretched forearm near the elbow. Yuu felt the crack as much as he heard it, and he yelped. The pain prevented Yuu from wasting time being dazed from the fall before he started to move, but it turned out that the crash itself took away all the time they had. Monobear had closed the distance, and he leapt for the arm sticking out from the bottom of the wheelchair.
When he felt the claws sink into his arm, Yuu let out a bloodcurdling scream. He wrenched his arm away from Monobear and out of the wheelchair, but he screamed again when ripping away from the claws and scraping against the chair brought the worst pain yet. His good arm wrapped around Mitsuruâs middle and desperately Yuu scooted them away from the chair with his feet. Blood trailed as Yuu dragged the two of them across the floor, and he was sobbing by the time Monobear threw the wheelchair out of the way.
The other Monobears had been unsuccessful in catching any of the other students, but the commotion caused by Yuu and Misturu attracted them. As Monobear with bloody claws approached the two, the others joined him. Yuu whined incoherently as he tried to drag Mitsuru away, but then his back hit a wall. The Monobears surrounded them.

WELL YUU DIDNT EXPECT THIS TO TURN OUT THE WAY IT DID IN A MILLION YEARS (tfw itâs his own damn fault)
Yuuâs first real contact with Mitsuru was in, you guessed it, the kitchen again. YUU WAS A BIT INTIMIDATED... heâs a super coward and any dude taller and more imposing than he is tends to intimidate him (fearing they could beat his ass) (on the other hand if itâs a girl who looks like they could beat his ass thatâs đđđ but i digress) anyway the fact that he SNUCK UP BEHIND HIM AND SCARED HIM didnât help either omg yuuâs jumpy. yuu also noticed the smell, which was... gross and unappealing, as it was intended, but also just lent to his intimidating aura more.Â
Yuu was a little surprised but wary that Mitsuru later wanted an âallianceâ with him, but he found he could agree about the wanting to survive thing. After how the end of Naoiseâs trial turned out, Yuu pretty much did feel like the was the only one who actually wanted to get out of there alive for a while. He agreed to the arrangement of meeting up once in a while to exchange information on the mm... though it was basically like he was giving over information filtered through by squad, and squad knew exactly what information Yuu divulged lmao. Yuu was still very wary about the whole arrangement (and tbh because of his and mitsâs occasional meetings, for a good while if Yuu wanted to kill, creepo Mitsuru was right at the top of the list. HILARIOUS IN RETROSPECT RIGHT)
Sure Mitsuru was unsettling and smelly and dirty and rude, but... heâd never actually done any harm to anyone aside from some intimidation? As far as people went, his actions were actually pretty benign. He didnât keep secrets that screwed other people over or really messed with any of Yuuâs friends. And for all of his jeering he was never actually disruptive in trials.
So when Mitsuru was picked for the random execution... Yuu actually got kind of upset, and he felt really, really sorry for him. Unlike for Malachi, Yuu was of the opinion that Mitsuru Kouzo Did Nothing Wrong. Heâd never really done anything wrong, and he was about to die, and that was fucked up...
But when the execution didnât actually show him dying, Yuu remembered how Malachiâs âexecutionâ went and he was one of the first to shout âHe could be alive!! We have to save him!â He embarked on MitsuruQuest, but... he wasnât stupid. He knew a lot of blood was probably waiting for him, so he teamed up with Koharu (who he didnât 100% know was Rieâs killer at that point but he knew she was better around blood than Julia lmao. he suspected tho.)Â
They were right behind Malachi when he found Mitsuru. Like, right behind. They saw him open the door.Â
Yuu... man. Well, he was right, there was a lot of blood. Worse than he thought, since it turned out that Mitsuru lost both his legs and both his eyes. The whole scene was triggering his PTSD really badly, but surprisingly enough, his traumas propelled him to do something even if the situation in front of him seemed impossible since they were on murder boat with no doctors. Because before, he had always arrived too late. His father, Janet, and Noelle were all dead before he could save them. Janet, in particular, had died right in front of his eyes when he was too slow to save her. Mitsuru was still alive, right in front of him. He had a chance to save someone, to redeem himself, and he would blame himself if he let the opportunity go to waste. He wouldnât forgive himself if he failed. Again. So his scream turned into a roar and he charged into hell to try to drag Mitsuru out of it. Malachi and Koharu helped him tourniquet and carry Mitsuru to the infirmary, and all the people in there were greeted with quite a sight...
It was all hell for Yuu, though. He was pretty much running on adrenaline and sheer willpower until Mitsuru was left in Monomiâs care. After that, Yuu secluded himself for a few hours. Once he could finally wind down, everything got worse because everything caught up with him. He got sick and then spent the rest of that time distracting himself to calm down. Despite all that, though, he took it upon himself to take care of Mitsuru, especially after the next squad meeting when Koharu admitted that she killed Rie.
There were a lot of reasons Yuu took care of Mitsuru, even though the blood made him uncomfortable and sick and even though he didnât even particularly like him in the first place. Firstly, he didnât expect anyone else would do it. And after finding out that Koharu caused Mitsuruâs fate, Yuu didnât want the rest of squad to help him or take over for him. Secondly, if he let Mitsuru shrivel up and die, he would have failed anyway. On top of that, the hell that Yuu went through to get Mitsuru out of the danger zone in the first place wouldâve been for nothing. Thirdly, this gave Yuu a unique opportunity to get something he had wanted the entire time he was on murder boat. He wanted someone who relied on him, who he could take care of and protect. It was a level of âintimacyâ, really, that he wasnât getting from any of his friends. Julia and Koharu didnât need him, not really, not when they had each other. And he wanted somebody to care for so badly because it ironically makes him feel more safe and secure. And security was something he sorely needed on this stressful murder boat. (Ironically, he had almost had this need fulfilled after he found Monomi. He brought her to his room and got kind of possessive of her until... she recharged and left Yuuâs room and it turned out she didnât need him at all LMAO...) Actually... there was the possibility that Monomi could be Mitsuruâs primary caretaker, but given the second and third reasons, Yuu didnât want her to be, lmao.Â
The only catch to this was that Mitsuru didnât want to be dependent on anyone, and kept chewing out Yuu. Yuu pretty much maintained an âuh huh, keep talkingâ attitude and kept on taking care of him. Whether Mitsuru liked it or not, he needed him to survive, and Yuu was not going to let him die.
Then sinning happened behind his back. Yuu came back to find one of his new worst fears seemingly realized: Mitsuru laying there unconscious, bleeding, bandages and sheets a mess, clearly attacked. He legitimately thought Mitsuru had been assaulted and not... ravaged. He was frightened and demanded to know what happened and Mitsuru was NOT COOPERATING... And Yuu actually bought that the marks on his neck were âchoke marksâ and not bite marks because... someone sexing up Mitsuru was about the last thing heâd EVER EVER imagine had happened to leave him in.. .that state. (though he was confused why whoever tried to kill Mitsuru didnât finish the job or even hurt him that badly and... why was there a bloody scalpel when mits didnât have any cuts on him wtH) And Yuu was just generally so frustrated because. Mitsuru was supposed to be his responsibility and he had gotten attacked and he wouldnât even TELL HIM WHAT EXPLICITLY HAPPENED.
Which made Yuu even MORE surprised when Mitsuru told THE ENTIRE CLASS what he had refused to tell him earlier. [mits voice] i fucked natadama! HE COULDNâT BELIEVE WHAT HE WAS HEARING. And Malachi was already dead on top of it all. He was, as might be expected, pretty damn pissed BUT ALSO ASTONISHED??? and also lowkey jealous. like. who it was with aside, Mitsuru who had no legs, eyes, or even independent mobility had gotten laid without even having to leave his infirmary bed and he, a Yuu Sagara, had not and the way things were going he probably would not. BUT MOSTLY PISSED
so of course Yuu confronted him. and of course they argued. [mits voice] GOSH MOM ITâS MY LIFE-- Â then yuu was like... WHAT HAPPENED why did he return to SUCH A MESS (which he had to all clean up himself so like. itâs not even like mitsâs escapade DIDNâT not affect yuu at all) AND THEY GET IN A SCREAMING FIGHT EVENTUALLY... OVER THEIR CHANCES OF SURVIVAL. until mitsuru got so pissed he tried to stand up and. he fell. yuu caught him...sorta. and mits mcfreakin lost it. and kept telling yuu to go but yuu refused. yuu thought mits was having a panic attack?? so he started trying to get him to do breathing exercises like he was taught to do with his own panic attacks. mits cries. yuu tries hugging him. mits gets more upset so yuu continues with the breathing exercised and doesnât relent until mits calms down... and still tells him to leave -_-
but yuu was also legit like. concerned. so later after that debacle he kept poking and prodding at mits about what happened with malachi and at least he got assured it was consensual. consensual hatesex.and mits was like âyou really want to know??â and yuu was like âyeah, actually!!!!â and
just imagine yuu blushing at mitsuru speaking in censor bars, b/c thatâs pretty much what happened.
yuu was like â......â and after it was mitsâs turn to prod yuuâs answers turned from tsundere into. bad seductive voice. yeah, heâs trying to subtly(?) hit on mitsuru.
(okay but i actually cannot emphasize enough just how thirsty and desperate he was. like. the aforementioned security of caring for someone was one thing. but that was p much only one layer of what he really craved. he really felt like, with how much distress murder boat was putting him in, he needed more intimate human contact like... kissing and hugging. and further than that sounded gr8 too esp. for releasing months of pent up stress so to speak. but yeah like before this point he was so needy that he was starting to get too touchy feely with julia?? and that didnât go anywhere for obvious reasons. and like, hitting on mitsuru was pretty much life-changingly desperate of him b/c heâd always been with girls, never hit on guys (shunned them, if anything), and heâd always been in a relationship before anything intimate went on. something thatâs up-front âno strings attachedâ with no romance part of it at all is. a big change for him.)
so basically thereâs Banter until mits calls him out, then yuu is finally straight (ha) with him and REALLY SHYLY... asks him if he wants to âblow off steamâÂ
and long story short after mitsuru agrees yuuâs actually excited BUT ALSO SSSUPER NERVOUS WTF THIS DOESNâT HAPPEN TO HIM. wheels mits to yuuâs room and. things happen. and things continue to happen. and yuu soon moves mitsâs infirmary bed into his room, tho the biggest reason for that was for mitsâs protection tbh. but like. thereâs a lot of times when yuuâs just laying there cuddling with mitsuru and mits isnât actively participating but he lets yuu do his thing and yuuâs so,,, grateful for that tbh. just like. rly âlovey doveyâ kissing and cuddling really helps calm him down and feel better in tfw murder boat. on the other hand, yuu lets mitsuru make all the snarky comments he wants. tbh yuu... really likes the banter.Â
and basically yuu is an idiot. heâs quickly... irrevocably attached?? like he barely even goes to squad meetings anymore heâs just like almost always with mitsuru. and it gets to the point where heâs like 90% sure heâs in love him. (yuu is a pretty sex=romo kind of person rip in pieces) and then like
with the malachi mm trial, yuu was actually a lil scared if they were right b/c yuu didnât feel ready to let go of mitsuru yet and send him off to his family (and a hospital) and then when it turned out that it wasnât malachi, there was a completely new problem. they only had one more mm vote. next trial, they could all die. so with that in mind, yuu admits his feelings and tells mits that he loves him. mitsuru flat out tells him that he doesnât believe him and yuu gets rly upset tbh like,,, it took a lot of nerve for him to admit how he felt in the first place and mitsuru just. flat out doesnât think heâs telling the truth. so yuu doe s get sad and upset. and mitsuru wonât TALK ABOUT HIS FEELINGS EVER so when yuu demands an answer mits just... starts touching him. and yuu just BLUSHES and he stops being upset pretty quickly lmao.
but afterwards he still feels pretty sad and unfulfilled b/c (among other reasons) mits obviously likes him somehow but basically implied that he didnât love him and yet he refused to say for sure. so currently yuu is. very unsure where they stand
but after a VERY INTERESTING conversation with julia during the final investigation, yuu is pretty determined to confront mitsuru about his refusal to talk about his feelings (provided they survive this dam mm vote)
itâs also notable that a BIG reason Yuu voted for the mastermind vote is becasue of mitsuru. the possibility going through so much just for one of them to make it off the boat without the other was scarier than believing in himself and going with the evidence he found. so basically yuu did one of the bravest things heâd done all game b/c of his Big Gay Feels
yuu is pretty damn sure he loves mitsuru. heâs DEFINITELY attached to him and probably even a bit emotionally dependent on him (ikr on mitsuru kouzo who knew) and even now the thought that theyâll separate after they get back to civilization makes his heart ache and makes him a lil nervous. but first, yuu is pretty determined to find out exactly where they stand. B)
Ah yes, Janet... [julia softly playing summertime sadness in the bg]
Janet and Yuu hit it off pretty well with shared interests even if Janet was kinda *raises eyebrow* at Yuu flirting with her. Early on, Janet was Yuuâs closest friend. He really looked forward to jogging with her in the mornings. They kept up each otherâs exercise schedules, and talked while they jogged... Little by little the more they talked he started feeling closer to her, though he didnât bring up like,,, getting closer closer to her yet. Playing things by ear, maybe blushing a lil during their runs... AND HE WAS SUPER WORRIED ABOUT HER INVOLVEMENT IN THE LIKE... VIOLENCE IN TRIAL 1
but holy shit tho. her death. fucked him up. like legitimately... it was a new trauma for him and that was the last straw that made him avoid the open deck entirely. extreme avoidance is a big symptom of ptsd... sometimes when blood really got to him heâd get reminded of not only his father but also janet, and that pain was much fresher.
he misses her. and partly in his grief he let his jogging routine deteriorate instead of trying to keep it up indoors... his heart still aches over janet lynn
Bina and Yuu formally met in the kitchen, and she was cookinâ up a storm! Yuu tried to help her out and honestly he was a little impressed with her. She knew four languages! He was a little worried about her, though, since she kinda gave the impression that she threw herself into work such as cooking when she was stressed rather than talking it out with somebody.Â
Though of course the whole... when he noticed that she was engaged that he regretted the whole flirting thing in the kitchen whoooops.
Bina, again, a beautiful, innocent girl... can do no wrong.
So when she came under fire for murdering WIRE, Yuu legitimately thought that she was innocent and thatâs why he put up such a fuss. Even if it was WIRE, Bina couldnât so something so intrinsically bad like murder someone...!
Of course, after Monobear sounded the verdict, Yuu couldnât deny reality anymore. He had to accept that someone like Bina had killed someone and that... was the first big thing in the game that messed with his worldview. He was so sad that she had to die, and there was nothing he could do to stop it...
I think Yuu and Noelle first interacted when they were both getting food from the kitchen. Maybe a somewhat awkward interaction given Yuu trying to flirt and Noelle being like âha ha what?â But Noelle still became one of those nice girls he wants 2 protect
And she was so helpful with finding evidence and getting trials going AND WHEN SHE DEFENDED HIM IN THE FIRST TRIAL HE FELT A FEEL,,, HE WAS V GRATEFULÂ
AND THEN IN THE NEXT TRIAL SHE DID IT AGAIN WHEN SHE TOLD PPL TO GIVE HIM SOME SLACK... OH HIS LIL HEART. he was so touched...
so that combined with them hanging out more at the sleepover meetings since they were both in #squad, Yuu began to feel closer to her and care about her and befriend her and everything.
and then....she ded
she had SLEPT IN THE SAME ROOM AS HIM AND KOHARU AND JULIA THAT NIGHT
AND SHE DED
heâd been too late to save his father, heâd been too late to save janet, and now he was too late to save noelle
his friend was dead
and combined with how it appeared to him that someone had CUT OFF HER LEG?? threw him completely out of wack. panicked and threw up and everything. left him rly bad off,,, but he was also so sad... someone had hurt his friend, a beautiful girl whoâd never done anything wrong, sheâd always wanted to help... and he couldnât even help herÂ
[RATING: 0/5] (but a complicated neutral score, yâfeel)
Of course, on some level Yuu did feel threatened by the whole Enemy Pretty Boy thing like he always does when heâs single, but honestly that wasnât as much of a concern on murder boat as much as the fact that Lucian seemed to be... a complete idiot. Yuu hardly ever saw him as saying anything constructive in trials since he kept insisting on chalking everything up to various vampire or mythical creature-related stuff. So even when they talked to each other and Lucian was trying to be friends, Yuu didnât really... respect... Lucian at all,,, -__-
Yelling at Lucian about how he wasnât immortal or a vampire and that he should take things more seriously was his attempt at trying to help him, though. Yuu mightâve thought he was annoying and a little too pretty and didnât seem to have much care for his own life, but he didnât hate Lucian or anything. Even if he was stubborn, he was never rude. He just seemed kind of... simple and easygoing. He didnât deserve to die or anything. So Yuu trying to get him to drop the vampire and immortality thing was actually his attempt to reach out to him, but alas,,
AND THEN LUCIAN FOUND YUUâS DILDO BAT... that didnât really change Yuuâs opinion of Lucian, per se, but IT WAS SUPER EMBARRASSING LMAO
and prompted Yuu to move the offending weapon to under WIREâs bed
At some point after this Julia told Yuu that Lucian is afraid of blood and... Yuu honestly thought Lucian was even stupider than he thought. He of all people shouldâve figured pretending to be a vampire while being afraid of blood was a kind of coping mechanism, but... no -_- yuuâs dumb he just thought lucian was being dumb.Â
When he found incriminating evidence in Lucianâs room after Malachiâs murder... Yuu tried to use all his acting chops to act natural and smile his way out of the room... Laying out all the evidence for Lucian kind of felt like... ripping off a band-aid with a side of kicked puppy. He could feel his soul dying a bit inside because... as has already been established, he thought Lucian was simple and easygoing and pretty innocent. He wasnât a bad kid... He didnât deserve to die. But at that point Itsuki and Malachi were dead, and Yuu wasnât going to throw one of squad under the bus in a million years. Someone had to die, and it had to be the killer. So... Yuu did it. And he had to take it.
Yuu's positive and negative feelings towards Lucian kind of cancel each other out, thus the neutral score, but he does feel regret.
uhhh how should i scale this⊠probably -5 to 5 scale, with 0 being completely neutral. how about that.
[RATING: -4/5] (ouch)
[slight⊠misgendering warning??? completely internal and not too bad but to be safe. yuuâs an idiot]
Well, Yuu was already slightly salty at Itsuki for looting Janetâs corpse. Granted, he didnât dwell on it TOO much at the time because. All the other turmoil he was going through. With Janet dying right in front of him and he couldnât save her and everything. After his Squad Induction, Koharu and Julia told him that Itsuki was sharing the cards they got off of Janet and,, it did make Yuu feel a little uncomfortable but at⊠least it was⊠helpful? At least he personally wasnât expected to interact with Itsuki and the loot they nicked from Janetâs dead body. So even from practically the beginning, Yuu was⊠wary.
Yuu was a little upset and kept trying to reason against Itsuki accusing Bina during WIREâs murder, but to be fair, he didnât really blame Itsuki for it. His opinion on them didnât really change until⊠Noelleâs murder. And when they lowkey suspected them during the trial. They didnât put as much effort into this trial as much as the other ones, after all⊠And when it turned out that Julia didnât seem to thoroughly investigate Itsukiâs stuff, he got upset. They were one of the ones who voted for Itsuki anonymously, but of course, we know how that endedâŠ
After that, and after Koharu assured him and Julia that with the evidence at hand, she was sure that it was Itsuki who killed Noelle and there was no one else it could be⊠Yuuâs resentment grew. Because Noelleâs killer⊠not only did they kill an innocent girl and one of Yuuâs friends, but they made a complete fool out of Yuu, what with the blood-on-the-leg trick making him panic so badly that he threw up.
As salty as Yuu was, however, he was a little conflicted about his dislike for Itsuki, especially expressing it outwardly. Heâd seen Itsukiâs binders when searching through their room, and he felt a little anxious on whether he should be resenting Itsuki so much because⊠he wasnât sure if he should think of them as a girl. Rei and Julia had talked to him a bit about non-binary identities, but it was kind of a new concept for him and he just ended up feeling lowkey confused and anxious about whether it was okay for him to hate Itsuki lmao,,, let alone throw them under the bus and allow them to die in trial if it came down to it.Â
But thatâs what did happen. Yuu was one of the people who voted for Itsuki during the next trial, he finally called out and grilled Itsuki for their wrongs during Noelleâs trial even if they werenât the killer, and demanded that they tell the truth since they had nothing left to lose. Needless to say, he was pretty miffed when Itsuki didnât address anything he said and insisted that they didnât kill Noelle. And then Itsuki died. And man⊠did Yuu fuck up?
THOUGH
WHEN MALACHI REVEALED THAT ITSUKI LIED TO THEM
OHHHHHH BOYYYY
No conflict anymore. Itsuki lauched right to the top of Yuuâs shitlist, post-mortem. HE WAS SO PISSED but he⊠couldnât really take it out on Itsuki like he wouldâve liked since they were⊠already dead. So out of everyone, Yuu hates Itsuki the most, except maybe WIRE. ;; (I love itsuki though, fuk off yuu)
(theyâre still not maximum bad at -4, though, since tbh there were people Yuu hated even more than Itsuki in da3 so⊠he has the potential to fume even more over somebody so. not max scoreâŠ)
Under almost any circumstance, Yuu would not murder a girl of his own free will. Also, unless he had a strong vendetta that could override his fears, he would avoid going after any boys physically larger or stronger than him. Therefore, the prime target for Yuu Sagara would be a male 5â8â or shorter and preferably less muscular. Of course, unless someone really, really pissed him off, Yuu wouldnât kill for any old reason. Yuuâs biggest fear of all is dying. Therefore, in the interest of his own life, Yuu would not be tempted by a killing game motive unless it meant the salvation of his own life or threatened someone important enough for him to overcome his fear. A motive concerning imminent death would be the most effective motive for him, such as starvation. Also, though not as strong, a motive threatening his brother Takumi would also tempt him. Yuu looks up to Takumi and sees him as an upstanding individual and the best a man can be. Even though Yuu had already sacrificed a lot for Takumi back when their father died, he still feels like he owes it to his brother to guarantee his successful, happy future by any means necessary.
As for the method of murder, itâs important to note that Yuu is afraid of blood and gore because they relate to his trauma. He also would prefer not to use a sword for the same reason. Therefore, an ideal murder scenario for Yuu would be bloodless and without any chance of retaliation. Poison would be the ideal weapon, though if there was no poison then drowning would be a good second. If there was no water, then he would try a projectile weapon so he didnât have to get up close and personal with the blood or risk physical retaliation. And, if he had no projectile weapons, Yuuâs last resort would be to come up close and personal with some sort of bludgeon and try to use his quickness and fast reflexes to ambush someone and kill them with one hit. In this case, however, he would be panicking about it and so he would be prone to mistakes.
To run a scenario, letâs say a male character had gotten away with murder, and Yuu was incensed because the girl that this person murdered was Yuuâs best friend. In this case, his motive would be revenge, fueled even further for his hatred of men who hurt women. Luckily enough, he had received potassium cyanide from the Monomachine a few days before. The boy, a SHSL Basketball Player, is taller and stronger than Yuu, but with the poison in hand he has some measure of confidence that he can pull it off. The current motive Monobear has in place shuts off all the running water in the ship until someone ends up dead. Sure, there are bottled drinks in the kitchen, but those will run out eventually and the more pressing issue is that there is no way anyone can wash, bathe, or flush their toilets. Relieving everyone of their discomfort will only be a plus to offing the bastard who killed his best friend, but the motive gives Yuu a way to draw out his enemy and put his plan into motion. Anyone thirsty has to come to the kitchen eventually, so Yuu stays there until the boy comes in. Of course, thereâs the risk heâll get caught by a third party, but this is the only way he can think of to pull it off. When his target opens the door to the kitchen, Yuu opens the refrigerator and a small glass vial of powder is tucked out of sight in one palm. Yuu puts his acting skills to use and greets the basketball player like he would anyone else, if maybe a little more kindly. Ah, what a coincidence, he must be thirsty too, right? Yuu offers him a drink, asking what heâd like. After the boy selects his drink, Yuu takes it out of the fridge. His back turned to the boy, Yuu unscrews the cap and sprinkles about half of the vial into the drink. Then he turns around and presents the drink to the boy. See, he even opened it for you! However, being a known murderer, the boy canât help but find something strange, even suspicious about Yuu opening the bottle for him⊠Really, it made more sense for Yuu to hate him instead of being so gracious. After staring at the bottle for a moment, the boy looks back to Yuu and says, âYou try it first.â
Of course, Yuuâs plan as he knew it was completely foiled. Before he can even come up with a solution like pretending to take a sip without ingesting any of it, the look of shock on Yuuâs face gives everything away. Before the basketball player can react, Yuuâs adrenaline surges and his quick reflexes come into play as he tugs the boyâs collar down and attempts to force the end of the bottle into his mouth. The boy smacks the bottle away and it clatters across the floor, spilling everywhere. Yuu screeches but doesnât let go of his target, shoving him to the ground. Propelled by adrenaline and the pure fear of a life or death struggle, Yuu grapples with the boy amid a stream of curses. The basketball player is stronger than him, but when Yuu finds an opening, he thrusts his hand holding the glass vial forward. He attempts to force the powder into the basketball playerâs mouth, and he succeeds, though the player struggles and bites down on his fingers. The vial shatters in his mouth and by the time Yuu pulls away his fingers thereâs blood on them from his victimâs tongue. In a panic, Yuu keeps the boyâs jaw shut with all his might even long after he stops moving. After making sure the boy is dead, Yuu stands up, but as the adrenaline rush starts to fade, he realizes how sore he is. The basketball player had kicked and punched at him trying to shake him and bruises were starting to emerge on his skin. Knowing he has to leave quickly lest anyone slip in and spot him, Yuu hurriedly wipes the blood on his hands off on the corpseâs clothes. Itâs both the victimâs blood and his own: Yuu avoided cutting his fingertips on the glass, but the boy had bit him hard enough to rupture the skin on his ring finger and pinkie. After thinking for a moment, Yuu grabs a water bottle from the refrigerator and pours it over his hands to wash off any residue of blood and any trace of the poison that might have stuck to his skin. After throwing the bottle on the floor, Yuu hightails it out the kitchen and rushes back to his room to refresh himself and obscure his bruises and the injury on his fingers with makeup. In the kitchen, the other students would find the SHSL Basketball Player dead face-up on the floor among spilled water and poisoned sports drink, with the two plastic bottles empty and scattered. There are traces of blood from both the killer and the victim smeared on his face and the front of his shirt. Inside his mouth is more blood and shards of glass. His skin is cherry red and the room smells heavily of bitter almonds⊠Would the students be able to solve the mystery? Would anyone find the used foundation in Yuuâs room and put the pieces together? Or would someone take the revenge angle and weed him out just from thatâŠ? Only time would tell.
