Bina and Yuu formally met in the kitchen, and she was cookin’ up a storm! Yuu tried to help her out and honestly he was a little impressed with her. She knew four languages! He was a little worried about her, though, since she kinda gave the impression that she threw herself into work such as cooking when she was stressed rather than talking it out with somebody.
Though of course the whole… when he noticed that she was engaged that he regretted the whole flirting thing in the kitchen whoooops.
Bina, again, a beautiful, innocent girl… can do no wrong.
So when she came under fire for murdering WIRE, Yuu legitimately thought that she was innocent and that’s why he put up such a fuss. Even if it was WIRE, Bina couldn’t so something so intrinsically bad like murder someone…!
Of course, after Monobear sounded the verdict, Yuu couldn’t deny reality anymore. He had to accept that someone like Bina had killed someone and that… was the first big thing in the game that messed with his worldview. He was so sad that she had to die, and there was nothing he could do to stop it…
I agree, these two would make a terribly cute couple. Lucian's one of the four (... maybe five) people that could work with.
But anyways, into her thoughts.
Lucian scared Bina at first. Like, honest to goodness creeped her out. The whole vampire enthusiast, had fangs thing, on top of all the knowledge he was throwning around just sort of made her wonder what the heck kind of drugs he was on. As things started to boil down - strangely, mostly after she died - she was able to take a step back from the stress of investigating and arguing in the trials (even with deadblogs own stress, thanks-) - and get to know her classmates more.
Lucian endeared himself to her when she realized that he, like Yuu, were a bit hemophobic, so to say. It helped take a good part of the scariness away from him, and when he started hanging around Hiyuu and such it opened up her willingness to get close to him even more, because he seemed... you know, like a actual teenager. Then he died. She can't really blame him, all things considered. All she saw when Lucian died was someone who needed someone to help, and well... she was willing.
The two haven't spoken much, but she is willing to speak to him, and he with her, and that's enough for them, for right now. Bina trusts him... just so long as he doesn't try to bite her*.
... that and we've talked about down the road with them a lot so RIP this post.
For the record, Bina still isn’t sure what was going on with the week Renjiro died, mainly because she didn’t want to investigate on behalf of both his and her own stupid high levels of embarrassment.
Bina liked Renjiro. Sure, he was a bit rough around the edges, but he just wanted to protect people and she can respect that and that’s the major reason for the higher level of respect. He did kind of scare her though, to be totally honest. He was big and buff and rough. She’d cook for him any day, that’s what it boils down too. Somewhat scary grumpy glasses guy she genuinely liked.
Yuu Sagara has, as far as Bina is aware, done nothing really /wrong/. Don't tell her about Mitsuru ever though, it'll just be safest for her brain. Yuu has instead been a stable source of ... well, while awe isn't the correct word, Yuu is a sort of inspirational figure for Bina and why does he look better in a skirt than she does?
Yuu broke Bina's heart in her trial. There's no better way to put it. She's absolutely sure that he meant everything he said and the fact that he was such a mess just endeared him to her more. She really does appreciate everything she's watched him do as well to help protect others, well... well!

Bina Meier is deeply sorry and apologetic she’s ever done to Junichi ‘YuudokuWIRE’ Kita.
That’s the main part now - knowing what she does of everything that’s happened to him (Which is very little), she’s still extremely and extraordinarily sorry that she ever decided to kill him. Does that mean she regrets killing him? Well… no, and she won’t apologize for that, to be honest. She will, however, apologize for everything else - the fact she uncovered his mouth to eat, the fact that Yuu pulled his pants off and so everyone found out about his leg, and the fact that he’s… dead. Although the last bit is … technically a tiny bit uncertain, as she’s kind of sure down the line, perhaps, someone would’ve realized he’s still a threat as a one away from murderer-victory ending the game, per Monobear.
He’s probably tired of hearing her apologize for everything by now, but most of all is the fact that her interaction with Wire has made her hate herself a little (bit more than she already did.) Wire’s actually stepped her to force back and think about everything she’s done and why she’s done it, and well…
Amazingly enough, Bina respects Wire for things he’s done and how he holds himself. The fact that from the start he wouldn’t hit on an engaged woman (doll) is impressive enough to her, especially considering her relationship with her own Fiance. Then, the stuff about Najwa and how he didn’t really care but that seemed to be a fat load of bullcrap, and so honestly throughout the past few… well, weeks (er, well, however long it’s actually been, in character) … Bina’s opinion of Wire has, well, improved.
That was a really weird sentence to type.
It’s funny because her attitude towards him only dipped during the shenanigans of the second chapter, froze during the third chapter (heyo), and has … improved a touch during the past few chapters. Sure, the two are aggressive towards each other, in that Wire is still very tired of seeing her, and Bina is too scared of being around him for long (not that he’ll hit her, she thinks, just… that … yeah.)
So it’s a kind of wary respect, pepper with apologies, and she’s sorry for apologizing so much to you, Wire.
Koharu and Bina didn't have much interaction which is ... I don't want to say probably for the best, but it meant that Bina doesn't really have any strong opinions about her except for the fact that Koharu is one of the... four people Bina got up close and personal with (the first being Wire in the murder, the second is Koharu, the third is Noelle picking her up, and the fourth is [deadblog redacted for right now]) and that left a pretty striking image on her.
Actually, she sort of thanks Koharu for, you know, sealing the deal in her own trial. Bina did want to be caught, in the end, it's why she's a terrible murderer (so, so sorry, Wire--) - so Koharu being what she is, and that's a good investigator, made Bina happy. That and Koharu made Julia happy, which also made Bina happy.
Otherwise, she's just kind of neutral towards Koharu. Thanks, Koharu.
Itsuki is one of the ... three? People - I think is the right number - that Bina genuinely has come to dislike overall, and that's both hard to do and impressive considering how willing she is to forgive. However Itsukis' lying and their treatment of Noelle is really what did everything in; sure she may have tried to punch them with pretty much no provocation (not like it'd ... hurt... she's a ween). That's a story for another day though.
It's sort of surprising, actually, that most of Bina's view towards Itsuki is how they treated others; Bina isn't normally a super judgemental type like that. Honestly the only reason it isn't complete hatred as much as she can hate someone is the fact that they stand right next to each other in the trial room and Bina tries too hard to not make things totally bad, plus she didn't want to antagonize Itsuki anymore and see what would happen.
Honestly, if they hadn't done what they did to Noelle, she'd probably like them better... she just happens to like Noelle so what they did has affected (effected?) the way she views Itsuki.
Bina ... let's not say love, it's not quite the right word, but she is deeply endeared with Noelle. She sees a bit of a lost child in the butler, which is probably true in and of itself, and she also sees a little bit of herself in her, in that dedication to serving and helping others without doing a lot of thinking about herself. It is mostly due to that that Bina hangs around Noelle; if she knew what happened with Noelle and Ryo, Bina would probably legitimitely start laughing and like her even more, to be totally honest.
Noelle needed, to Bina, someone to hug her and reassure her it's okay. Not that Noelle needs protecting - while there are those that do on this ship (actually, we need to protect all of these students from theirselves, lord folks-) - Noelle doesn't seem to need that kind of reassurance. She didn't need a mentor, she needed someone willing to be her friend, and Bina, who is all sort of friendly, is willing to put herself out there for Noelle.
While they didn't have very meaningful conversations Bina feels like she knows and understands Noelle pretty well. Their time with each other knitting - because Bina, after all, views it as a wonderful relaxing way to concentrate on things that are not... watching the rest of your classmates drop like bloody flies around you... especially when said classmates are your murderer or people that just don't like you.
So... yeah. Bina kind of views Noelle as possibly the closest thing she's had to a proper friend in the game, and she just wants Noelle to be Okay, not that anyone is going to be Okay after this. She's just... she's just glad she's got someone who isn't using her, you know? Perhaps not a daughter, but...
Bina has complex feelings towards Mitsuru. The first is that he really did need to take a bath - while it was jokes about, in-game, Bina was actually quite concerned about the whole creepy slime thing. As time went on, however, Bina slowly realized it was just... it was Just Mitsuru. It was still creepy as all hell. He successfully became the only person was Bina was creeped out through the whole game, for the record.
When Mitsuru slammed on the defaulters, well - let's just go on the record that Bina never voted for anyone but herself throughout the whole game. So she's probably the worst fool to him for that, and she can respect his views, just does he have to be such a jerk about it? When he got punished for all the mistrials, Bina got upset - after all, everyone was trying, Monobear's just an ass - but she didn't...
... well, he never died, so the fact that she didn't really want to offer him pity, even though she did pity him, never cropped up. In the end, it's fairly neutral, just dinged for... well...

So let's discuss Bina and that there's a factor to her that I joked about a lot but I came to realize - not in time for the app, but during the first couple of the chapters of the game - about Bina's ability to be manipulated, and her willingness to be a definite doormat for everyone.
The basic gist of this boils down to:
If the motive was good enough, the murderer could have just asked Bina for her help and she would have willingly helped set herself up to be murdered.
Julia fussed at Bina a lot about this, but it didn't really do anything. Bina knows that it's a bad habit - it's nearly gotten her killed (and... has gotten her killed in a couple of certain aus I wrote for moo *cough*) and in the end her complete dedication to other people even if it's so doormat-y is about, overall, her only redeeming feature.
Bina doesn't really care for herself; she hates herself. She hates the way her hands her body shakes when she doesn't still herself, she hates the way her spine curves to make a hunchback, she hates anything related to her, herself, except when it's related to her talent. She's proud of her talent, she's proud that she can do something so well, although she's sort of divorced she-as-bina and bina-the-knitter from one another, in that she takes praise for what she makes but she doesn't seem to register it as being... well, her.
In essence, she probably had the biggest case of self-hatred on the case (maybe next to Akihiko.)
As far as the engaged situation, yes, that wasn't a lie. Bina was honest to god engaged to one Hadar Simcha, a manwhore of the highest order, except that he didn't actually sleep with anyone, he just flirted his ass off and waved it in Bina's face, and she persevered in the relationship for her father's honor... because she'd do anything for someone that she trusted would ask of her... including marrying a man she didn't love, and dooming her very last twenty years or so of life to be attached to a man that only wanted her because she was gorgeous and the perfect wife, and not for her intellect or gentle personality.
Also, yes - average lifespan is 30 years after diagnosis for her ataxia. She’s got about twenty years left; think about the fact that someone who so desperately wants to have a family won’t even see her children graduate college.

So, A Needle Pulling Thread
Bina Meier doesn't have any words to say.
The fact that she's been found guilty, that she is guilty, make her blood run cold in her veins. So she stands there quietly, head bowed, blue eyes focused on the tips of her boots, before the metal chain snakes out, the collar wrapping around her neck. She gives a low, choked whimper, before the body of the small knitter is dragged out of the trial room, leaving the trial room in silence before the screens flicker to life, showing Bina sitting on a stool in the middle of a empty room, a thing of yarn with needles in her lap.
Monobear steps out of the nearby shadows, and claps his paws together. The area behind her suddenly lights up with a screen, with a familiar video of Bina teaching the world how to make a I-cord - that is, a very simple technique that creates a thin, narrow tube that looks similar to French knitting. The instructions at the bottom, when the I-cord is done, reads: MAKE TEN FEET LONG. REPEAT X3.
"Four?"
Bina whispers to herself. She can make four I-Cords. That's so simple. She could do that in her sleep, and she does, the needles flashing in her dark hands before she has them made, the I-Cords curled up in her lap. Monobear approaches, taking the cords, before leaving again. Monobear does something off screen, then comes back in, attached the end of one of the I-Cords to her right ankle. This repeats, moving around clockwise until it ends with the fourth one on her left ankle.
Monobear removes the stool and the basket, casting them away, as the screen broadens, lifts suddenly coming to life, as Bina and the class can both see now the four mono-horses at the edges of the screen, each one having a Monobear on top, with sturdy harnesses holding the ends of the I-Cords. Bina suddenly realizes what's going to happen, and she starts babbling incomprehensibly in Hebrew.
As the Monohorses move away from each other, Bina is stretched out further and further, her babbling turning into high pitched shrieks as she's pulled agonizingly apart, further and further until she rips apart at the shoulders and knees, leaving her torso lying on the ground.
For real, did these two even talk to each other at all?
Okay, more realistically:
Bina seriously thinks bullshit of Malachi. A aspect of her that never came up too much especially once she died was the fact that she was, you know, pretty religious. She’s Jewish by nature and everything else (part of her family), and while her family is pretty chill about religion in nature, Bina wasn’t quite so. So to see someone who was reputedly such a figure of a religious nature be such a ... well, to be more frank (as she has been lately), a asshole, one can’t help but think badly of him for marring such a thing.
She doesn’t actually really hate him though, just you know, has the super ironic thought of the fact that he could go back onto God’s path. Yeah, Bina’s kind of a hypocrite.
So... yeah... that and there’s the whole Itsuki thing. Let’s not go there. Tis a silly place.
