Hmm...
Eh? Manipulating people into killing each other… In her books, villains and sometimes heroes did that kind of thing all the time, but.. Someone actually being manipulated into murder? Did people do that in real life? Then again, those carnies didn’t look as if they belonged in real life, anyway, “So the carnies are using our items as part of that… And will probably use other means?” she was as curious as she was scared and disturbed, but the fear in her voice was disguised by false cheeriness.
"Oh," so he had been invited into a different school? She could relate with looking forward to go to school only to wind up as prisoner at a strange carnival, "Well… Not as much as fooled, as sidetracked, I think. You being here doesn’t mean the invitation is bogus, does it?" he’d probably get to attend the school as soon as they were released, right? It’d be upsetting it he weren’t.
An aligator wrestler?! How interesting, she didn’t even know these existed! She’d have to keep that information in mind next time she wanted to write something.
"Since you were a little boy? But didn’t your parents get worried?" She knew not all parents in the world were like hers, that didn’t let her step out of home without an adult around, but still, letting your child run around with alligators?
"Hum…" she tried to think of an answer to his question. It was troublesome because she didn’t know many of the others’ talents yet. The way he put it, there was probably a theme going around… After a few seconds, she shook her head in frustration.
"Hum, I’m a blacksmith!" she said brightly, “I, hum, forge the weapons from my stories… And from books and games too,” she wasn’t much of a video game player, but if someone requested her to craft them the, let’s say, Buster’s Sword, she wasn’t going to deny it.
He looked at Haruna as his memories came flooding to him again. He looked at her and said bluntly “No, they were not worried whatsoever.” This struck a nerve in him. He crossed his arms. It wasn’t Haruna’s fault. She didn’t know about his past, but it still bothered him about his parents. “Actually my parents were uncaring, abusive drunks who didn’t ever acknowledge my presence only until they beat me at night. So I usually escaped home and wrestled the alligators by myself and slept on the streets and begged for food as a young child.” He grunted and sighed.
And then a smile creeped along his face. “You’re an actual blacksmith?” He had never met a real life blacksmith. This definitely took his mind off of what he was thinking. It actually distracted him before he got violent thoughts. He curiously asks “What weapons do you forge on a regular basis.” Matthew loved talking about weapons, so she intrigued him with her talent. He felt like a kid in a candy shop. A smile creeped on his face “You see, I love weapons, its another hobby of mine. Meeting an actual blacksmith is super cool!” He scratched the back of his head hoping he was not coming off to strong towards her, but he really thought her talent was really cool.
You are my sunshine
"I-I...wo-n't die....?" Nanaho blinked. Matthew was being too kind to her. Maybe too much. The kiss on her forehead caused a small blush to creep on her face. Stuttering and stammering. He really did care about her after all. All the little gestures made her begin to develop something within her. But she couldn't tell what.
She held onto him tighter, repeating his name like a crying mantra. Nanaho didn't want him to let go. He felt warm and safe, and she never wanted to leave his side. She wanted to say so much to him. But the only thing she managed to whisper tearfully was a small "th-thank...you..M-Matthew-san.."
She moved a bit, planting a small kiss on his cheek as a sign of gratitude. Then returning back to the comfy embrace. Her face nuzzled into his shoulder.
He giggled when he saw the blush on her face. He held her and said confidently and sternly to her "No, you will not die, not on my watch. If anyone tries to hurt you, they will have to go through me. If anyone scares your or tries to hurt you let me know Nanaho." His heart clenched when she kept repeating his name. He gently separated her from him. He then cupped her face into his hands as he moved in an gently planted a soft kiss on her lips to calm her. After a few seconds he moved away and smiled happily. He brushed away a few strands of hair from her face with his fingers.
He said softly near her face "You don't need to thank me Nanaho, it is all my pleasure..." He then blushed a little when she caught him offguard and planted a small kiss on his cheek. He giggled and held her happily. "Smile darlin..." His louisianian accent came out "A lovely lady such as yourself should not be crying, you should only smile." He held her hand and said curiously "Would you like to go anywhere? I heard they had a bathhouse, it would be a great relaxer" He smiled again.
A Plank Walking
Mary shrugged, already having lost interest. “Break ye’ or not, it’ll likely be entertainin’ in some way or other.” Not really caring how he took the words.
When he offered to take her up on the job, she laughed. “Good, I do be needed a new lad to be swabbin’ decks or be doin’ the laundry.” Clapping him on the arm, she winked up at him. “How about ye’ be buyin’ me that drink sailor, or ye’ could be escortin’ me to me room…” letting it hang in the air she finished it by smirking and adding “Though me lettin’ ye’ in with all that feelin’ sorry for yerself is a pretty grim an’ small prospect. Ye’ be more likely to catch me wearin’ a dress”
He felt agitated when all she offered him was cleaning duty, honestly, he wasn’t the type of guy who would settle for that job, but he just shrugged his shoulders at it. He sighed loudly, feeling a little tired and agitated at her teasings and in the situation in general. He looked towards her and couldn’t help but feel agitated by the things she was saying to him. Feeling a little defeated by her, and feeling tired he just shrugged it off again and said straightforwardly to her “That is something I can do for you captain. I’ll escort you back to your room.” He then added as they walked “Where ya from? You don’t sound like you are from around here?”
Hmm...
Suddenly, things made sense to him as he explained his history with his parents. It shocked him how he managed to stay so strong after going through so much. His parents were like his: abusive, neglectful, people he shouldn’t have as parental figures. Slowly, a smile appeared on his face. It wasn’t happy, but it was understanding. He knew how he felt.
Hiroyuki didn’t hesitate for even a moment to show him the burned flesh behind his mask. It took up a good half of his face, which is why he used the mask in the first place. “You and I are more alike than we thought,” he murmured sadly. “My parents are abusive as well… I got my burns because of them pushing me too hard…” It definitely wasn’t as bad as Matthew’s situation, but he had multiple factors that had affected his health over time.
"My parents are greedy. They kept most of the food to themselves, so I only weigh at 35 kilograms…" For someone his age, that was about 10 pounds underweight. "There had been many times that I blacked out after being worked too hard in practices… I slept in boxcars… There was never praise." He shook his head sadly. "In fact, they barely acknowledged my existence except for the fact that I was a money-maker for them…"
He found tears welling in the crevices of his eyes as well, despite looking up and giving him a simple “Don’t cry. It’s okay.” as they embraced for a brief moment. “Thank you… If you need anyone to talk to, you have me.” He only wanted to help others. “After all, you’re doing that for me…” His smile brightened some, patting the taller male on the shoulder.
Matthew had not realized that the mask that he wore covered up burn marks. He thought “Wow, I didn’t even realize. We are more similar than I first thought.” With a concerned face Matthew examined the boys face with his eyes when he revealed what was under the mask. He nodded his head in silent agreement when the boy said they were very similar indeed. He said softly to him “My parents just didn’t care for anyone but themselves. So I was once about your weight. They never fed me, I had to feed myself ever since I was 7, I often went hungry. Honestly I don’t understand how I got so big…I often went to churches, and scrounging for food from people who would feed me. There were days in which I couldn’t sleep at home because I just didn’t want to be abused by them so I slept in boxes in alleyways which was quite dangerous for a youngster. I can agree with you, my parents really didn’t know I existed until they were drunk and abused me. But I learned to move on or die trying to live.”
Saddened by his last words he hugged the boy again. He passionately said “They should have never used you like an object my friend” Angered by this fact he let go of his friend and turned his back to him. He felt the pain of all those years of this boys pain and his compounded. He then turned around when the boy said gently and softly to him to not cry. He didn’t even realize he had tears in his eyes. He wiped at them. “Thank you my friend. Im here if you need me for anything.” Matthew didn’t understand why he began to trust this boy even more. He warmed up to him pretty fast. He saw a smile creep up on his face as he said happily with a slight smile on his face “Your not so bad kid.” He patted him on the shoulder “Would you like to do anything? I heard there was a kitchen, and a bathhouse, and a lot of other things here…im kinda bored, are you interested in doing anything?” He smiled gently.

Oh, the both of them were just precious! A big ol’ dixie boy and a sweet little kitten. Stephanie couldn’t help but to coo over the little duo.
"Mm? Oh, I was born ‘n Reno, but Vegas was my home. Brighter lights, bigger city; y’know how it is." She stretched out her arm, admiring some of her little trinkets from the sinful city. On almost every finger sat a twinkling little wedding ring (all of them the drive-thru variety. She had the filthy little habit of getting caught at the 24-hour altars. But, then again, no girl is perfect.)
She smiled softly, watching them glint in the Carnival lights.
Wisfully, she said to them, “A word from the wise pumpkins, if you’re ever heading out to Glitter Gulch; whatever happens in Vegas can usually be treated with a nice, big dose of antibiotics.”
Looking at Stephanie Matthew said curiously "Ive actually been to Vegas before!" He chuckled. "The bright city lights and the big city know how to draw you into it. You can almost get lost in it. Anyways..." They continued walking almost reaching Stephanie's room first. He said softly, bringing up old memories "I wrestle alligators and ended up being in a wrestling competition in Vegas. Ive only been once, but its tough city ill say that much." He watched her admire herself. He was trying not to be swayed by her natural charm that surrounded her.
All three of them reached Stephanie’s room first since Nanaho and him lived in the same room together. He said gently and courtly to Stephanie “We’re here” He smiled at her and asked politely “M’am do you need anything else while im here before I go? I wouldn’t mind helping you out if you need it or ever need it.” He continued to smile at her as her charm began rubbing off onto him.

Nanaho gave a slight glance focused on the taller, growling lowly. It sounded a bit like a large cat rumbling, but it was rather quiet, Hopefully loud enough to reach Matthew’s ears. She could tell that he was flustered by Stephanie’s prescence. Sure, she was a really beautiful woman. How could Nanaho compete to that? But she still felt a bit possessive. He had a girl on his arm and another holding his hand gently. Quite an odd sight. She couldn’t tell why she was thinking such things though. Was she jealous? …probably not. The accent slip made her squirm slightly though.
"Uhm…Stephanie-san…I-I was..a-also w-wondering that as well! Y-You’re really pretty too…" She shivered nervously, but still managed to give the female a small smile. The attractive charm made Nanaho blush a bit, admittedly. Maybe she could make friends with her! After all, the only person she’s managed to stay comfy with was Matthew. It wouldn’t hurt to get closer to another person, right? She tightened her grip on Matthews hand. Hopefully to remind him that she was still there.
Distracted by Stephanie, Matthew had a hard time focusing on Nanaho. But as soon as he heard her give a very quiet growling sound his attention refocused on her. He was obviously flustered. His heart was racing because he felt like she was coming onto him, and his first reaction was to go for it. He knew he was a brawny guy and at times was a chic magnet, and at times he would give into his impulses; which is what he already does anyways. He gazed into Nanaho’s eyes to reaffirm to her that it was alright, he could sense that Nanaho was beginning to be overcome with the affection that this new female began showing him. He squeezed her hand in reaction to her squeeze as they continued walking. In fact he pulled her closer to him to let her know he was thinking of her.
What a pickle...(OPEN)
Ama frowned, he knew that Matthew’s intelligence and understanding wasn’t quite his strong suit, but to think he was this easily lost was upsetting. Ama gave Matthew a concerned, almost motherly look and continued to speak, “Oh Matthew, you’re not hopeless…”
"I don’t think you of you as my play toys, but I do think of you as my pupils. I care about the well being of all of you, and to know that you are all great people! Yet I also know that you have potential you haven’t yet reached, and the only way to reach that potential is to go through an obstacle, to overcome an ordeal or hurdle that would otherwise prevent growth!" He smiled, his expression seemed so disturbingly caring as he spoke, "THat’s why I am glad Koneko killed Ken and was caught, it let you all become so much better for it! If more was to occur, if other’s died….perhaps you could reach even greater heights!"
Matthew felt that Ama was patronizing him because he didn’t catch on very well to Ama’s sense of logic. It had indeed been lost on him. But Matthew still felt that Ama had a twisted sense of logic in thinking that bringing us to our breaking points to kill makes us stronger, to him, that was not true. He thought ever since he lived on his own that you didn’t need to kill to be stronger, but what does Ama know that he doesn’t. Matthew began to question that. Obviously still slightly confused at Ama’s statements, he felt like he couldn’t understand him. He was confused at Ama’s motherly expression. He reacted by grunting loudly and scratching his head vigorously in confusion as he backed away from Ama. Matthew was disturbed at Ama’s concerned expression as he then transitioned to a smile.
He raised his eyebrows disbelievingly as he said sternly “How can you sit here and say you were glad that Koneko killed Ken and was caught?!” He raised his voice “Yes, seeing death can make you accustomed to it and accept it, but I don’t see how it can make us reach…” He said mockingly towards Ama “Greater Heights! You say that as if murder brings out some hidden potential w. e have. Who knows it could, but the way you say it Ama is twisted and I don’t like it one bit. In fact I could care less about you. You patronize me because im not bright, and you bring others to their brinks and their lowpoints...your a no good piece of shit Ama.” As he said that he punched the wall behind Ama near his ear. Matthew rolled his eyes and thought for a second as an idea came to him. He came closer to Ama, bent down on eye level with the boy and said “Where is Oda at? I haven’t seen him lately…is he in your room?” A grin creeped up in the corners of Matthew’s mouth as he said this. Matthew obvioisly wasn't buying into Ama's motivational speaker act.
Hmm...
"Well, I should certainly hope I am logical! I should be a fairly poor SHSL Librarian if I was not, is that not correct? Though, I do not know what Ritsuka-sama’s talent is just yet, I am certain that Ritsuka-sama holds a talent even more studious and capable of great thinking than mine. But I digress. I know there must be some way out. We just need time to observe the situation and figure out what that way out is, no?"
Logical statements as ever, though Matthew-san would likely have not expected any different. However, the unwavering logic and stoic expression of Shizuka changed to a more thoughtful one at what the other divulged to him next. It appeared he was clearly not the only one who mistrusted Ama-san at this point in time: the puppeteer’s twisted way of talking and unstable mentality was apparently driving Matthew-san to annoyance as well.
"Ah. I must confess, I do not hold trust towards him at all. Insulting others ‘through a puppet’ and then being too cowardly to accept the consequences of his own words - tch. That one’s trouble, take my word for it. It could merely be my logical senses acting up, but I feel like he could be the most unstable and dangerous of all of us at this point. Given I know little about him, there is the chance I am wrong, so…I suppose it’s too early to go casting suspicion just yet. Especially since we do not have proof."
Pausing, Shizuka folded his arms, and suggested: "Just keep your distance and only talk to him if you have to - and if you must speak with him, take a friend with you, someone you trust, so they will keep you logically thinking. That is what I would do in this situation. If he annoys you so much, clearly, spending too long around him is not worth your time."
Matthew curiously asks Shizuka “Would you mind if we walked a bit to sit down alone?” Shizuka agreed and they walked to a bench and sat down. He looked at Shizuka softly, placing his hand on his shoulder he said “Thank you Shizuka for your advice. I just…I don’t want to end up doing something I could regret” Matthew gazed sideways away from the librarian. “Your logic doesn’t ceases to amaze me still, I trust your word. From my interaction with him Shizuka-san, he says he wants to be a motivational speaker. He feels that these deaths bring us closer to reaching our full potential, and that he wants to coach us so we can be ready. But I feel he is a little off of his rocker when he says these types of things. I suppose you are right…though we don’t know him truly, but I still wont ever trust him. I still feel he is not all here.”
Matthew turned his gaze back at Shizuka and looked him in the eyes and said sternly, crossing his arms “I will keep my distance, but, if he hurts me or one of you, I wont be able to hold back. When it comes to me and people I care about I have a lust for revenge…its something I try to control my friend…” His words trailed off into silence. “I just hope I won’t bring myself to be violent around you guys, I don’t want to.” Matthew felt weakened by his strength. “But thanks to you my trusty smart friend, I shall try my best to stay away from him. I just hope in the meantime, he doesn’t bring someone else to their brink of murder as he did Koneko…” He moved his hand from Shizuka’s shoulder and looked at him with a sad, yet confused expression.
Hmm...
Were they being provoked to kill? Would people really kill to get their precious possessions back? Lives were more important than anything! Or maybe Mattew was talking about the weapons! But people wouldn’t kill just because they had been given weapons, would they? “Ah… You mean our stolen items and the weapons?" asked Haruna as she scratched her head in confusion, "Would only that lead to killing?" mutual killing games and evil circuses were the type of things that supposed to remain in the realm of fiction.
Haruna nodded slowly and smiled brightly as he tried to comfort her. She wasn’t used to be comforted by strangers… Or interact with strangers, period. He had a point about the poison, but her weapon would be staying in her room. "But in this situation, I don’t want to be a winner, thank you very much…" she said firmly.
Heh, so he figured out she wanted to ask her something, “You see, I’m curious about your talent…" unless he wasn’t from Hope’s Peak at all, then she’d want to know how did he get there, since only Hope’s Peak students were invited to attend the Apelpisia.
He pondered for a moment, and he said calmly to her "I mean it could Haruna, but, only as a catalyst. I feel peoples emotions turned negative can cause us to kill one another. As if someone could manipulate someones emotions to cause them to want to kill. OR just manipulation in general .." his voice trailed off.
Haruna asked him a curious question not even he had thought about in a while. "I wasn’t from the same school(s) everyone else was. I was sent a letter telling me I would be going to a prestigious school. I was excited, because I want to learn. In fact it ended up not being a learning enviroment and im not doing anything studious. I think they fooled me. Im none too bright when it comes to books and school."
He scratched the back of his head and gave a strong smile "In fact honestly, im an alligator wrestler." His louisianinan accent came out. "I work on trying to tame them and make them friendlier, its a tough thing because they cant be tamed very well. Ever since I was little, and I was alone, I would go and wrestle the alligators for fun. Its a hobby of mine, but im not sure how this relates to the talent everyone else has. I feel like an oddball."
He looked at her curiously "What about you, whats your talent Haruna-san?" He smiled brightly at her.
Im so behind everyone. I will get to posting soon! Maybe later tonight, I just needed a small break..thanks!
A Plank Walking
Mary grinned and nodded, finally satisfied…for now. Reaching up she patted Matthew on the head, almost like she would a dog. “There ye’ go lad, wasn’t so hard now was it?" As she reached up and slipped the eye patch around his head. It was skewed and didn’t actually cover anything, but she didn’t particularly care.
"Bloody hell though lad, ye’ be a proud one. That thar’ pride’s gonna break ye’ one day, ye’ mark me…" she trailed off before shrugging again, and walking off a few paces ahead of him. Rubbing at her short hair, she glanced back over her shoulder at him. “Still, some do be findin’ a quality like that admirable. If ye ever be lookin’ for work, I could always use a good deck hand."
Matthew breathed a heavy sigh of relief when Mary gave him his patch back. He readjusted it back and looked relieved. He didnt know what to say to her. She had been right about everything. He thought "What is with her...jeez" he said to her straightforwardly "Oh well then, I guess it will have to break me then..." he rolled his eyes, was he too prideful, he didnt know, he just acted on impulse. He shrugged her statement off.
He walked with a faster pace to catch up to her "If we ever get out of here, yeah sure, I wouldnt mind getting the hell outta this place. Ive got nothing tying me back to this place, I wouldnt mind a different lifestyle anyways. Thank you." for once he smiled at her for her statement. Was she being nice to him? He continued to walk with her "Where are we headed?" He looked to her for her direction, he really didnt care where they went.
Hmm...
It was only instinct for him to flinch when Matthew raised his voice, immediately tensing up and hiding his face as if he were to be hit by the yelling male immediately afterwards. It was only a habit he’d developed over time. However, he hesitantly looked back up as he seemed to be back to normal. The smile enough was good enough praise for him, and his smile seemed to find its way back onto his face.
"Thanks!" He chimed, feeling a bit proud that he impressed the alligator wrestler in whatever way that he could. “I hope I can perfect it the best I can, but that means I’ll have to be using it more often…" His words trailed off, as if he were trying to imagine himself using the brass knuckles. It was hard to imagine, but he knew that with time it would be easier to imagine.
"Self defense… Yes." He saw no other reason to use them. “I don’t see why I would use it to hurt someone…" He was against fighting, for the most part, after all. However, his interests were piqued once he mentioned his anger. “No, no. I wasn’t angry with you… Someone else." The happiness managed to slip away from his eyes as he said that, despite the weak smile that appeared on his face. “It’s difficult to explain…" He didn’t want to speak about his parents more than he needed to.
Matthew gleefully smiled at the young male when he thanked him for whatever he managed to get through to him. He then patted the boys head like an older brother would, and ruffled his hair playfully afterwards. He said happily "Your welcome! And with that attitude, you will go far kid!" He smiled. There was something about this boy that made him happy. There was like this happy aura around the boy. No wonder everyone liked him. He placed one of his hands on the boy's shoulders for reassurance.
He said calmly looking into the boys eyes, gently tightening his grip on the boys shoulder for emphasis on the point he was about to make. "I don't like to lecture people kid, but I'll make this last point, I don't like to hurt people either. Only in self defense for good reasons. I don't know who you are angry at, or what happened to cause you to feel this way, but I can tell you I have people im angry with and want to hurt." He was trying to stay calm, bringing up the past about his parents never caused him to be calm. A little anger welled up inside him as he removed his hand from the boys shoulders.
"Mine is difficult to explain too." He looked the boy in the eyes about to reveal something he hadnt even told the closest person he knew here. "In actuality, you see all these burns that cover the entire right side of my body? Well a few years ago my parents left me to die in a fire. And I havent seen them sense. They were abusive drunks to me. They didn't care about me. They abused me, starved me of everything, bullied me...they almost kill me many times before the fire..." Instead of welling up anger this time, a few tear drops fell from his eyes.
"For all the pain they have caused me, I will find them..." His face went stoic. He grunted "and I will kill them...maybe I won't ever feel satisfied..I dunno. They really are the only people I want to ever hurt ya see." emphasizing his point. "I am just glad your not angry with me, im relieved." And then he placed his hand gently on the boys shoulder again and said calmly to the best of his ability at that moment "if you ever need a friend, or someone to talk to about the things that bother you, im here for you friend!" He gave a closed smile and gave the boy a hug to reassure him. Maybe it was for his own reassurance too that everything would be okay, but he hugged him whether he wanted it or not.

Just as Steph was about to thank Nanaho (bless the sweet little thing,) her attention was drawn to all 7 feet of Mister Matthew. Oh… my. Unabashedly, she raked her eyes over every bulging muscle Dundee had to offer (and there were plenty, she’d assure you.)
Biting her lip, she said “Oh, thank you two. A little lady like me really ‘preciates it." She gave Matthew a pointed look. “And might I say it’s real big of you to be escorting us girls back," she sighed.
She introduced herself with a sharp little smile. “My name is Stephanie Babineaux, So very pleased to meet you both."
"…Say, Matthew?" Steph sidled up next to Alexander as they walked, still finding it difficult to pry her eyes from those enormous biceps, “That’s an English name. Where you from, if y’don’t mind me asking?"
"Ahem…" Clearing his throat nervously, it had been quite a while since the last time he noticed a female obviously staring him down. He became flustered a little bit, he wasnt used to this “kind" of attention. He scratched the back of his head “Its not a problem m’am, safety first.” He gave a quaint smile to the attractive young lady. To him, she was pretty attractive. Her type reminded him of all the women he had a taste for in his past, and it was hard for him to think of anything else except her advances towards him.
He couldn’t help her natural charm, and the fact that her smile drew him in like a master giving a dog a bone. Matthew thought “Snap outta it man!”Just as he was about to Stephanie sidled up to him and grabbed his arm. He shook his head and focused on what she had asked him. But he couldn’t help it, she was quite attractive, and did have beautiful hair afterall. “It is nice to meet you too Stephanie.” He kept noticing how she was looking at him, he didn’t know how to respond back to her, it made him slightly bashful. Instead he opted out to reply to her.
He tried to make eye contact with her as they walked and said confidently “No m’am, I don’t mind you asking.” He smiled at her, slightly shocked that Nanaho hadn’t asked him the same thing. He looked her in the eyes “I’m from Louisiana m’am. I was born and raised there. I mostly wrastle alligators there…heh…” A bit of his louisianian accent came out. Not meaning to say all that he scratched the back of his head with his free hand. “Where you from?” He smiled at her politely.

Mary shrugged. If he wasn’t going to show her a little respect first then why should she? At least as captain, that’s how it worked in her mind. “Matters little if ye be me crew BOY, I still do be a Cap’n an’ ye should be showin’ the proper respect. I got nothin’ to be hidin’ anyway." Grinning she yelled out in a voice surprisingly loud for her smaller frame “I DO BE CAP’N MARY, FEARED PIRATE AND FREEBOOTER, AN’ I DO BE PROUD OF IT!" letting out a hearty, if slightly forced laugh.
Hopping down she snatched the eyepatch from Matthew and put it over her own eye, giving him a wink. “Oh don’t be gettin’ yer’ britches in a knot there laddy, ye think yer any less easy on the eyes for a bit o’ woundin’ like that? I got news for ye’ princess, I laid eyes on prettier lads than ye with a lot worse in me line of work. Missin’ limbs, both eyes, tongues an’ all sorts."
Flicking him in the chest she finished with “So man up tinkerbell, hell ye be playin’ yer cards right maybe i’ll get bored and show ye me scars too. Or may be bein’ I won’t. Yer pretty an all lad, but yer a bit o’ a wuss for me I do be thinkin’ now if somethin’ like that be gettin’ ye down."
Matthew thought "This little person really is a force to be reckoned with." He shrugged his shoulders, and sighed loudly. He knew what he must do, even though he didn't want to, someone was going to have to budge first. He stepped back away from the little one a few steps when she yelled at him, cautious of what she could do.
Then she snatched his eyepatch from him. He felt like she was being a bully to him. He snarled childishly "You cheeky bastard...give that back!" He started to reach for it, but didnt want to touch her. He was used to being antagonized, but not by a female. He became flustered, he couldnt understand why she was antagonizing him, calling him names and stealing his stuff.
Was he truly a wuss? He scratched the back of his head, and submissively said with his shoulders slumped "If I call you captain, can you give me my patch back, I don't like to freak people out okay, and its special to me.." he felt like a kicked dog. He couldnt understand how this girl put him in line so quickly. He then squared his shoulders some, and then looked her square in the eyes and said "Please captain, I'd appreciate it."
A Plank Walking
Mary grinned and winked “Sure thing big boy. You keep callin’ me Mary like ye be knowin’ me though and we won’t be gettin’ off to smooth sailin’ though ye hear?"
She laughed, hopping up onto a nearby crate with ease and arms on her hips looked down on Matthew. “Yo-ho-ho and all that rot, I do be a pirate. Good guess big boy. Ye be some kinda detective?…" She cringed then and looked at him through a squinted scowl. “Ye not the fed’s are ye? Ye be a easy on the eyes laddy, and i’d rather not be havin’ to mess that up for ye’…" As expected, a pirate even in the modern times doesn’t exactly have the greatest of histories with the authorities.
He lifted his eyebrow unimpressed, crossed his arms, and slightly annoyed he said "You keep calling me that name and we will both continue to have a problem. And if you are a pirate as you say you are, I am not part of your crew, therefore, I am not required to call you captain!" He scowled his eyes at her and scoffed. "Ya know, I did read a book or two in my days about pirates...so...thats how I guessed that you were one. Its not that hard to figure out with the way your acting and speaking. You look so out of your element..."
He took off his eyepatch, challenging her notions of his looks, and her apparent sense of authority shes trying to have over him "You know, you can't mess up my appearance more than its currently messed up. I am blind in my right eye and my whole entire right side was melted in a fire, so go ahead, do your worst!" He rolled his eyes at her, obviously not pleased at how things were going with this new person he just met.
