The last few days? Well that wasn’t good. Aside from the asthma, Fuyuhiko was generally pretty healthy. And as he stated, he had never so much as accidentally inhaled anything his clan worked with. Peko knew that. He was incredibly straight laced for a yakuza. So these symptoms worried her. She pulled him into a hug, wanting to comfort her friend.
“I believe you, don’t worry. Plus I think Kaz and I would notice if you had started anything.” She reassured him. She held him firmly, rocking a little the way her parents often cuddled her. “I know I’m not in class anymore but I can help. Kaz can too if you can pull him away from his projects.”
He hadn’t had anything. Normal food, normal drinks, nothing had been slipped to him. Honestly the only difference was the incident where she ended up revealing she was a vampire and healing him but-
Oh… oh no. Peko gulped and pulled away, suddenly far paler than she had any right to be even as the undead. “I… I’ll have to ask around but I think I have a hunch.” Red tears gathered in her eyes. No not tears. Blood. Blood she had stolen from others to keep her vampiroc body going. “I am so so sorry.” She whispered.
He hesitated before returning the hug, wrapping his arms her tightly. “I don’t wanna bother him…He’s got enough on his plate right now, I don’t wanna saddle him with this shit-He worries too much, ya know him better than I do. Ya know what he’s like.” Seeming to calm down a little from talking about the pink haired DJ. Though he would be lying if he said he wouldn’t want a hug from him right now.
“But…Thanks, I appreciate it…” Huh? Fuyuhiko’s expression turned confused when she suddenly pulled away. “H-Hey are you-J-Jesus christ Peko?!” A hand to his mouth-He mustn’t alert anyone to Peko’s state. He didn’t want to, but he found himself backing away on instinct from the blood flowing down her face. Closing his eyes for a few moments before withdrawing his hand. Taking a step forward once more. “The-The hell are ya apologising for? Ya done nothing!”
That was when the scent hit him, his eyes seeming to dull a little as if he had been hypnotised or something. Coming closer as he went to reach for Peko’s face.
"S-Sorry." She murmured, quickly digging out a pack of tissues from her pocket to hide her face. "No tears. Or water. Only liquid left in my body is blood."
Calm. She had to calm. She only had so many tissues on her and people would worry if she had blood pouring down her face. She ducked away from Fuyuhiko's hand. People would take the gesture the wrong way and if her hunch was right, she didn't want anyone witnessing him doing anything weird. Once she'd cleaned up and stuffed the used tissues in another pocket, she took a good long look at her friend's face. He was spacing out. That only helped to confirm her hunch and made her stomach sink. "I'm apologising because it might be my fault."
The hallway was too crowded. She grabbed his wrist and headed to the dance studio. No one ever bothered her in there. She weaved through the crowds with practiced ease, smiling and waving at those who greeted her. As soon as the door was locked behind her, Peko turned back to Fuyuhiko and bit the pad of her thumb, letting a little bead of blood come out. She didn't say a word, just watched for his reaction with bated breath.
