Does this work like a library return? | Shinju | Motive Reaction
Shinju brightened up more (if that was even possible), seeming very excited by this new friend. She swore she could recognize the name.
"Ooooo! Fantasy novels? I wanna know more about your books, fantasy is so cool~! Have I read any of yours? I like spooky stories the most, but fantasy is my 2nd favorite! It’s nice to meet you, friend!"
At Shinju's excitedness at hearing Nagisa's talent, and at her calling Nagisa 'friend', Nagisa blushed slightly. It didn't seem like Shinju was trying to trick Nagisa or anything - that level of happiness couldn't be easily faked. This was weird...this place should be Hell, but Nagisa had already made more friends than she had anywhere else, not to mention getting a girlfriend. She may as well just roll with it, though.
"I'm currently working on a series. The first one is published, and I'm working on a second. It's about this girl who goes on a journey to take down an evil wizard enslaving her nation. I also wrote a stand alone about a girl who sprouted wings, and how she had to deal with that."
She could probably go on for hours about her books, but that would just result in her spoiling the endings, and some stuff that isn't published yet.
Does this work like a library return? | Shinju | Motive Reaction
Shinju smiled brightly at the stranger, it had been way too lonely and quiet in this place. People all seemed so focused on the murder party game thing that she hardly got to talk or hang out with any of them! And she didn’t even have a roommate to bug with short stories!
"Ehehe, yep! I’ve got a book published~! I’m sort of an author, I’m Shinju Kato, expert in Urban Legends and Myths! I published a book that talks about tons of superstitions and myths and stories and stuff~! What about you, friend?"
Well, that was probably the closest thing to having another author here. Well, technically, Shinju was an author, but of nonfiction. Actually, if it was myths and urban legends, was it really nonfiction? Eh, close enough.
"I'm a fantasy novelist. Well, I'm the SHSL Fantasy Novelist. My name is Nagisa Inoue."
Hopefully that was friendly enough. She also smiled slightly, hoping to appear less grumpy than usual.
Does this work like a library return? | Shinju | Motive Reaction
As Nagisa followed Shinju, she would likely notice that she was humming merrily to herself and hopping or skipping about at random intervals. She would occasionally slow down and look at some random stuff she passed by, but for the most part she didn’t seem to take notice of the person following her until she reached the crystal exhibit.
Once she noticed she was being followed, she turned around and looked at the person confusedly.
"Oooa, hello there~! Were you following me, friend?"
Well, this girl's behavior was certainly interesting. The humming wasn't too odd, but the skipping was definitely weird, for lack of a better word. Not to mention that she was constantly getting distracted by every other object in the hallway. Normally, Nagisa would scoff and decide that someone so frivolous wasn't worth her time, but since this girl might be an author, she decided to make an exception.
Eventually, Nagisa was noticed. However, the other girl didn't seem to be mad about it. In fact, she was incredibly cheerful, and even called Nagisa 'friend'.
"Maybe."
Well, that was probably a terrible first impression. Nagisa should probably introduce herself. Or something.
"I, uh, heard you mention something about having a book...are you an author?"
Okay, good enough for now.
Does this work like a library return? | Shinju | Motive Reaction
Shinju listened to this motive and tilted her head, her face clearly showing some confusion.
"Eeeh? All my accomplishments…? How do you take back a book…?"
She shrugged a bit, putting on a smile again.
"Ehehe, that’s a pretty creative thingy though~! We worked super hard on our book and stuff! She must have told you lots of stuff to make this really intense~! This party is going on super long, when do we get the cake and dancing and stuff? Is it when we win?"
She still seemed to be entirely convinced that this was merely a game. Figuring this was the end of the announcement, Shinju skipped off to the prettiest exhibit in the museum, humming a tune to herself while she made her way to the crystals.
Nagisa really didn't understand how this motive would work. Sure, the bear could burn every single copy of her books, but the impact and the memory of her books would still remain with those who read them. What was he gonna do? Wipe everyone's memory? That's ridiculous, if not impossible, especially on such a large scale.
She rolled her eyes and turned to leave, when she heard one of those new kids (well, they really weren't new anymore) mention something about a book. More specifically, something about having a book published. Was there another author here? Nagisa hadn't really bothered to learn most peoples names or talents, but the prospect of having someone with a similar talent was pretty exciting.
The other girl left the room, and Nagisa followed her, staying slightly behind. She wasn't entirely sure how to approach her, so she just continued to follow her until she stopped walking.
birbs | Nagisa | [closed for Mayuri]
Mayuri had run after Nagisa after the trial but had quickly lost her, ending up wandering about for a while, also stopping by the machine when she happened to pass it but not seeing Nagisa there. She didn’t really get too much though save some rather cool pens, ending up carrying all four of her items around as she continued her search for Nagisa.
When she saw her there she sighed in relief, and she was smiling too, she looked so cute with her new haircut. She did have to admit the scar wasn’t as much so but she really didn’t think it detracted from her cuteness at all, Nagisa’s Nagisa and Nagisa’s cute.
"Nagisa-chan! Yeah, I’d love to."
Mayuri wasn’t too sure exactly what they were now either, though she was certainly hoping that they were girlfriends.
"Oh though hey do you like pineapple juice?"
She held out the hand with the items that she couldn’t fit in her pockets, so just the juice and the pens.
As usual, Nagisa kept her gaze focused towards the ground, although she did seem more relaxed than she did around most people. Plus, she was still smiling, so that was a good thing. When Mayuri held the items out, she looked up again.
"Yeah, I mean, it's not my favorite drink ever, but I like it well enough. I also received some jelly beans from the machine, if you want we could share those."
She also considered getting the rings from her room and giving one to Mayuri, but that was probably a little too intimate or whatever. Maybe some time in the future, if they both lived that long. She pointedly ignored the gel pens in Mayuri's hand. Gel pens were the creation of the devil and if Nagisa could avoid touching them she would.
Now that that was settled, she started heading towards the stairs so she could head up towards the aviary. Of course, she checked to see that Mayuri was following her. Wouldn't want to leave her date behind, would she?

Not Again | Mayuri | Motive Reaction
Really Mayuri hadn’t been expecting much from this motive, not after how amazingly mediocre that last motive had been for her, having simply walked down to the ticket booth and put in the headphones.
Then she heard.
Her eyes went wide as she realized who’s voices those were, her mom, Uncle Kenny, her dad. Oh god, this couldn’t be happening, not again. She quickly tugged the headphones out of her ears, throwing the tape player away from her and sprinting towards what used to be the exit but was now simply a thick sheet of metal. She banged and scratched at the door, not able to do much more than hurt her hands and ruin her nails, screaming some near unintelligible pleas to be let out, to save him.
After about a minute or so she just gave up though, backing away from the door about a foot before crumpling to the ground, curling up and starting to sob.
Immediately after putting on the headphones, Nagisa threw them to the ground. God, that was loud. It really hurt her ears. Plus, she wasn't the biggest fan of listening to people scream. Especially since those people turned out to be her own parents.
It was like something shattered in Nagisa. After seeing her secret laid in front of her ready to be told one week, then practically being burnt alive the next, and now having her parents - the only living beings who cared about her - tortured and recorded so she could hear it...she had enough. This was more than she could bear.
She left the room, not quite sure where her feet where taking her. She couldn't think. Nothing around her was able to catch her attention. Until her heard sobs.
"Mayuri...?"
Her voice broke slightly when she said the other girl's name. Now that she thought about it, she realised she was wrong. Her parents weren't the only ones who cared about her. Mayuri cared. Mayuri said Nagisa was her friend. Mayuri comforted Nagisa when she was in pain, both physically and emotionally.
Slowly, Nagisa sat down next to Mayuri and wrapped an arm around her.
"It's gonna be okay...It'll stop, it won't go on forever. They'll be fine...They'll...They'll make it out alive, and we will too."
Even though making it out alive would mean that someone else had to pay the price.
Cameron || ( ͡° _ʖ ͡°) || {OPEN STARTER}
Wait they were here for what now?
Just as she thought that things couldn’t get any worse (what with her phone and music player being missing) this had to get piled up on top of every horrible thing that was happening as well. This wasn’t something she wanted to have to be apart of. She wasn’t exactly the most fond of museums either, as she found them to be extremely boring.
Then again the fact that she was told that she had to kill people while she was here was bound to make things interesting, right? Well for some people people that would be the case, but for Cameron;
"Do we have any sort of personal space? If so, where is it? I need to avoid all of you for however long I need until I come to grips with this insanity."
This would mean she would have to get to know people, which was the last thing she wanted. As she asked her questions she didn’t seem to be trying to make any sort of eye contact with people. That was the last thing she wanted to do and she made that clear enough with her expression.
Let’s just hope that there is some sort of personal space then.
Well, this situation was still incredibly confusing for Nagisa. And weird things just kept happening more and more very single day. Like these new students. Why weren't they with the rest of them? Why were they discovered now? And what was up with that rabbit?
Sighing, she turned to leave. However, the confused questions of one of the students were heard by Nagisa. She had answers, so she turned to the student. Not to be helpful or nything like that. Of course not.
"Unfortunately, we have to share our rooms with other people. It kind of sucks. However, I'm sure you could find somewhere to be alone. The museum is a pretty large place, after all."
After answering thequestion, she turned to leave again.
oh no you dont | Nagisa | Execution Reaction + More Stuff (for Mayuri)
Nagisa’s calls to her didn’t even seem to register to Mayuri as she ran, wiping tears from her eyes, not even bothering to hide them. Hoshi had told them all, he’d told everyone and he probably hadn’t even realized what he had done. Why hadn’t she hid that card better? Why hadn’t she just told him the secret was bad at left it at that? Why did she have to tell him it was nothing?
She fumbled with her ID, trying to open the door to her dorm. Once she was in she quickly slammed the door shut, curling up in front of it and just letting everything out, sobbing at the top of her lungs.
To think she had just been thinking about how things were actually starting to get better here.
Although Mayuri didn't seem to hear her, Nagisa continued calling out. However, Mayuri continued to ignore her. This didn't deter Nagisa and she continued to follow the other girl up until she had a door slammed in her face.
"Mayuri-san! Please open the door!"
She added to that by pounding on the door. She wasn't sure what to say, so she just kept knocking on the door, hoping that Mayuri would get up and answer.
She wasn't even sure what it was specifically that made Mayuri this upset. Getting punched? No, she could have just hit Hoshi back. Mayuri was strong, Nagisa knew this first hand (especially considering the bruise that was still present on her jaw). What was it that Hoshi had said before he punched her? Something about her being Nigerian? That didn't make any sense...Mayuri told Nagisa she was African-American. Maybe Hoshi got confused, or was racist or something? But if it wasn't true, then Mayuri wouldn't be so upset about it.
Then, that would mean that Mayuri had lied to her...
and i was like 'oh my god' | Nagisa | [Trial Room to Girls' Bathroom]
Mayuri frowned, only getting more and more worried about the other the longer she tried to help, after a second she just crouched down and crawled under the door, sitting next to the other girl and wrapping an arm around her.
"Everything’s gonna be okay, alright? It’s all going to be okay, you’re safe, you’re alive, and it’s gonna stay that way, okay?"
She smiled a little, hoping that might help calm her.
Now the girl was in the stall with Nagisa? It was surprisingly calming to have someone there, but Nagisa was still hesitant about showing her emotions so blatantly in front of others. She wanted to turn away, but instead found herself leaning against the girl.
"I'm s-sorry..."
It was barely a whisper, but at this proximity the other girl definitely heard Nagisa, even despite the sobs that were still escaping.
and i was like 'oh my god' | Nagisa | [Trial Room to Girls' Bathroom]
Mayuri was silent for a second, trying to figure out what on earth it was she was supposed to be doing to help.
"Do you want a hug?"
Really that was all she had left, to ask if the other girl actually did want her to come in and try to comfort her the way she normally did.
Huh, the girl was still there. Most people would have left by now. Or done something to make it worse (although those people usually caused it as well).
Nagisa tried to answer, but her words got stuck in her throat and she just ended up stuttering.
"I-I-I.....I, uh, j-just...."
She stopped herself there, not knowing what she was even going to say in the first place. Although, she supposed a hug would be nice, but she wasn't quite sure whether she could answer properly.
and i was like 'oh my god' | Nagisa | [Trial Room to Girls' Bathroom]
Mayuri felt horrible as she heard the other girl hyperventilating. She was trying her best to help her but with the stall door locked like that she really had little idea of what to do to actually comfort her.
"I could grab you some water…or a box of tissues of something."
Really that was just her best guess of what to do when she couldn’t actually hug the person she was trying to help.
Nagisa's breathing was becoming more normal, but talking without sobbing between words was still difficult.
"No...I just...I just need a moment...I...."
She pulled her knees closer to her chest and put her head down against them. Sure, it was nice to know someone was there and willing to help her out, but dealing with emotions wasn't exactly Nagisa's forte.
I Hope You're Happy | Florence | Reaction | Trial Room to Kitchen
Florence began to laugh uncontrollably and glared at all of her other classmates. Maybe she could play this off as some sort of emotional ruse, and get what she wanted and laugh off the death of someone innocent. But then again, she’d never spared the innocent before, so why start now?
"Well isn’t that just fucking dandy. Since all of you were completely useless in investigations, an innocent person has now died. How do you all feel?”
She continued to smile although she could feel something well up inside of her. Misery? Anger? No… It wasn’t emotion. It was a belch. She’d held it in though, to guarantee everyone would hear her rant.
"I hope you’re all just about as giddy as I am!! Since you were all useless, there’s a killer in our midst, and I don’t mean me. Honestly, if you’re the kind of useless I’m going to have to put up with you might as well target me next! I know you all are."
She twirled around and gave a bow to everyone else in the courtroom, and she then skipped up the stairs with a light giggle. As she made it to the top, she then called down to the rest of them.
"I’d just like to mention, if you guys might’ve taken this more seriously, we wouldn’t be in such a fucking mess~!! Alright! Well, you all suck like HELL!! Never forget! I bet the next trial is gonna end the same thanks to all of your laziness and poor skills at investigating! Can’t wait to one of you die!!"
And with that she quickly bolted to the kitchen, in hopes of being able to take a knife for protection. She was now more paranoid then ever before.
After the grueling trial (and intense display of emotion in the bathroom), Nagisa found herself feeling very hungry. Which probably should be weird since most people would probably feel nauseous after watching one of their classmates get brutally executed, but Nagisa isn't most people. She is a writer.
She left the bathroom only after making sure her eyes weren't completely red rimmed, then headed towards the kitchen. She kept her head down, making sure her hair covered even more of her face than usual. After all, confrontation and emotions were not things Nagisa was good at, and if people knew she was crying, she would have to deal with both of those things. Hiding it would be the best option.
However, she wouldn't be able to hide it from everyone. Especially considering someone else was in the kitchen. And that person was Florence. Great. Florence was definitely at the top of the list for people Nagisa never wanted to see again. Well, obviously she was going to have to see Florence, she just hoped it wasn't going to be so soon.
"..........."
Nagisa did her best to ignore Florence's presence as she looked through the cabinets. There had to be something easy to prepare, but still tasty, here, right?
and i was like 'oh my god' | Nagisa | [Trial Room to Girls' Bathroom]
Mayuri had been heading back to her room as well, just wanting to sleep after everything that had happened. As she passed the bathroom though she heard loud sobs, peaking inside to make sure everything was alright, or at least as alright as they could be when someone was bawling their eyes out like that.
"Hello? Hey, are you alright? Do you need anything?"
She walked over to the stall where the sobs were coming from as she spoke, trying to keep her tone calm and soft.
Oh shit. Oh shit. Abort mission. Someone was here. Someone had foudn Nagisa. Someone was talking to Nagisa. That was the last thing she wanted right now. She tried to take a few coming breaths so she could tell the girl to 'go away and leave her alone', but she ended up practically hyperventilating.
"I...I-I-I'm okay...I j-just need a....a moment..."
Well, that was convincing and not filled with sobs and weird, shaky breaths at all. Good job, Nagisa. A+
