what better way to cope with dead students than to take a road trip
Rust-Colored Dawn || Shinobu K. || Chapter One || Re: Fun Times
Shinobu had been one of the last few to arrive, only picking up his pace when he heard screaming. He initially thought that his clan had broken yet another piece of the castle, but Yukie’s tone gave him an abnormal amount of dread. Someone must’ve gotten injured, he thought as he started pushing through the crowd. He didn’t want to see who it was, but he thought of the class surrounding them at their weakest moment made him sick. Shinobu yelled at the others, finally pushing through.
“Oi, give them some space, you…!?”
The words caught in his throat. He silently stared at the scene before him, wide-eyed. Shinobu took a small step forward, then stopped. He stood motionless for a good minute before he finally spoke.
“Ohara… san?”
His voice was barely over a whisper. Shinobu hoped that this was some sick joke, payback for everything they’ve done so far. He kept waiting and waiting, but Seiji didn’t move. Not even the screaming would wake him up. He didn’t want to believe it. Why would anyone want to hurt Seiji of all people? The man had been through so much over the past few days, why him? The manager tried to think of a reason, but he didn’t want to believe that Seiji deserved it. Nobody deserved this. Dying alone… was the worst way to go.
Trembling, Shinobu covered his mouth before he could make a sound. He turned away, running as fast as he could down the hall.

Shinobu wants to give his hansatsu to the money weasels™
You feel a gust of wind. It’s the Money Weasels™ here to potentially ruin your day. There’s a puff of smoke, and…
Fancy White Outfit : A… a… geez, this is… quite the flashy ensemble. It is predominately white in color, with a fancy white suit jacket, a white “domino mask”, silver cape with a white rose, black pants, black shirt, black gloves, a white tie, and white boots with a silver trim. It’s… pretty large in size? Who on Earth could this belong to… and what for?
…Wait a minute. Hasn’t there been someone on the news lately who’s worn this sort of outfit…? What were they called again, and what for…?
Like, wow! That’s so cool! Do you think they make something in that in miniature? I kind of want one!”
“…We’ll talk about it at the house.”
And with that, they’re gone, and holding an inexplicably fancy white suit. Congratulations?
Got the MaaaAAA— || Shinobu K. || Prologue || Reaction
Dragging his suitcase into the building, Shinobu couldn’t help but to marvel at the interior of the building. Sure, the guide said it was magic, but he wanted to believe that technology was the cause behind all this. The amount of effort it would take to create and program whatever the tapestry was made out of would’ve been amazing. And the tiger thing? Caught him off guard but was still impressed. It’d seem like a waste for everything to be explained away by magic of all things. He vaguely paid attention to the history and aspects of the school, choosing to focus on the tiny movements of the castle.
The grand hall was just as astounding. The manager carefully moved across the tatami as not to ruin it, staring at the room around him. He vaguely heard something about sorting but once again wasn’t listening. Maybe there was another suit of armor nearby? He wondered how in-depth their programming was. Could they only turn their heads? Or maybe they could do things like lift up and drop their swords like in a horror film? He tried to look behind him, but smoke was clouding his vision. Shinobu tried to fan it away, but found his movement restricted. He also found himself extremely high in the air in the hands of a giant bird.
“Wh—! F-Fuh?! Fuh—!”
Shinobu stared down at the ground, eyes wide. He wrapped his arms around the bird’s talons with all of his strength. The soft noises he made earlier were gone, replaced by total silence. He tried to bury his face into the claw, but found that he could still look below him. Just as quickly as he was taken up, the bird disappeared. His body remained rigid during his descent. As soon as his feet touched the ground, Shinobu let out a desperate gasp for air as he nearly collapsed.
He unconsciously took his wand when it was handed to him. The sudden change of height really took the wind out of him. He didn’t seem to register what either of the guides were saying until they mentioned something about phones. Shinobu slowly reached down to pat his pockets. No phone, just like they said. He lifted up his wand and pointed at them, trying to tell them off. Unfortunately, he realized that his arm wobbled and he was too breathless to say anything. He let his hand fall to his side. He glared at them, but there was nothing he could do. He stomped off to go find where the dorms were so he could finally put his things up.

They ran out of coffee again, which was always such a pain, and they didn’t have a good natured person to convince to get some for them. They needed to get it for themself. Well, they did, until they forgot and started to wander off. They really did not care for waiting. While being idly lazy was nice, there was really no reason to have gathered them all so early.
Ah, but then someone started to talk to them. They blink blearily at the shorter student for a moment or two before realizing he was asking about their clothes. What a stand conclusion to come to.
“No, that’s silly. I would be much bloodier if it was a bear. I just get caught sometimes climbing fences. They’re really nasty on tights, you see. Tights are better than nothing, though. Everything catches.”
They honestly thought he was just asking about their pants and not the fact they looked like they’d just come out of a mud puddle.
He blinked. Shinobu didn’t quite expect that answer, but it seemed more logical than being attacked by some animal. He would’ve assumed it was something more common like a dog or a raccoon. He crossed his arms, shifting his weight off to the side.
“Huh... You realize fence hopping’s a crime, right? That you just admitted? Did you slip and hit your head the last time you climbed?”
The admission didn’t dissuade his curiosity, but it did make him more cautious. The fact that they were so forthcoming with that information made him think that they were hiding something much worse. Who knows what could’ve caused them to jump a fence. Burglary? Murder? Instinctively, Shinobu took a defensive step back.
“Also, you might not be aware, but typically you’re supposed to look your best when representing someone? Especially someone as elite as Hope’s Peak? I mean, this could be your best and that’d be sad if that is, but you could’ve just sprayed yourself down or something? You look like you slept in a dirt mound and didn’t bother to change. Or shower.”
Another jab at their clothes. He wasn’t so sure about the last thing he said, but he really hoped they’d keep that information to themself.

The three hour wait was starting to take a toll on the manager. He already chugged the coffee from earlier and exhausted all the apps on his phone. He didn’t particularly want to talk to his other classmates more than he needed to, but it seems like he didn’t have a a choice. Putting his phone away, Shinobu scanned around the station for someone to keep him busy.
He noticed a rather… unkempt girl who didn’t seem to be talking to anyone at the moment. He vaguely remembered her having a weird name, but didn’t think much into it. A part of him didn’t want to get near her, but his curiosity got the better of him. Shinobu put his hands in his pockets and trudged next to Mi-Ke. He wore a disinterested look on his face.
“So… were you like, I dunno… mauled by a bear before you got here or something? You look kinda… you know?”
He motioned to both of their clothes, as if trying to compare the two. Idle small talk was not his strong suit and it showed.

After a few seconds, Tsukuyomi slowly brought himself up to his feet, though his posture was slouchy, as if he was trying to shrink back, make himself seem smaller. The boy’s voice was still shaky, and he couldn’t look Shinobu in the eyes initially as he spoke.
“S… S-Sorry– sorry… I get… nervous, um, r-really easily… and– w-with this… many people around… o-ohhhh, but they probably all heard that, a-aahhh…”
Briefly, he buried his face in his hands again, shaking his head. What a rocky start this trip had gone off to, and the class hadn’t eve left yet! He looked back up towards Shinobu after a few more seconds, rubbing his arm with one hand and trying not to let his gaze drop back to the ground.
…Drat, so he did catch on. Alright, what… would Tsukuyomi say here… he was still a bit frazzled from earlier, which certainly effected his answer - after a couple more seconds of nervous ‘um’s and ‘er’s and the like, he gave his answer:
“…I-It’s… um… it’s not… it’s– it doesn’t matter. I-It’s… not important.”
…He only shrunk back further, trembling just a touch harder under the other’s relentless stare.
Shinobu couldn’t help but to grin, tilting his head off to the side. He took a step back, giving Tsukuyomi some space to stand up. A part of him wondered what the other would do if he tripped him, but that would make him look bad.
“Yep! At least your name’s out their now~ Too bad they’ll remember you as that one kid who either can’t speak at all or screams at the top of his lungs! Just kidding, just kidding...!”
He raised his hands up, as if he was offering an apology. He did find it odd that Tsukuyomi wasn’t fessing up to his talent though. Shinobu thought HPA students loved to brag about the talents they were born with. He tilted his head to the other side, placing one of his hands against his cheek.
“But talents are important, Sato-kun! It’s why you were accepted into Hope’s Peak in the first place! I mean— I hope you were at least! It’d be bad if you were some obsessed weirdo who broke in one night and the headmaster took pity on you or something! I mean, you do give off some serious weirdo vibes!”
Shinobu laughed.
“Just a joke! You’ve probably got some talent that’d get you killed if people caught wind about it! Like ‘Yakuza Heir’ or ‘Assassin’! Ah, those are just examples! It could be something legal... maybe! By the way, is Sato-kun your real name or are you lying about that too?”
He was having too much fun with this. He felt better already.

☠ - Their worst habit.
probably his stubbornness? he hates admitting that he’s wrong about something, or that he can’t do something, so he’ll often go to stupid lengths to “prove himself right”. it’s caused MANY problems in his life but he’s too stubborn to admit that too.
☮ - How they keep calm.
it’s difficult for him to calm himself when he gets upset. depending on how angry he is, he either tries remove himself from the situation before he escalates it further or explodes. he finds that taking deep breaths and fiddling with his necklace helps soothe his nerves though!
☼♫
☼ - Favorite season.
summer! it’s when he and his family get to hang out the most (even if most of the events they go to revolve around his parents’ work). the annual company barbecue is one of his favorite times of the year!
♫ - Favorite music genres.
shinobu loved heavy metal and progressive rock ever since he was a little kid. his mom, a huge fan of both, would often play her old cds for him during her off time \ o /

Tsukuyomi Sato was… not a big fan of attention. He didn’t like large crowds, he hated being stared at, he really hated being stared at by large crowds…
Needless to say, when it came time for roll call… nerves were real high for ol’ mystery lad here. As his peers, his fellow students, went on to say their names and talents, Tsukuyomi shrunk back a bit, muttering his name to himself as if everyone around would hear him if he spoke that quietly - or maybe he was rehearsing what to say to himself…? Working up the nerve to speak in the first place?
Regardless of what it was, his thoughts were cut off at the sound of someone shouting behind him - way too close behind him - causing the blue clad lad to jolt, shrieking a bit.
“HHHHH– A-A-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH–?!?!?!?!?!?!”
Introductions? He was asking for an introduction? Alright, no problem, he could get that out there real quick– he tried to rationalize to himself in the few seconds before he stood up from where he’d been seated and he, too, started more or less yelling himself.
“M– M-MY NAME– IS TS-TSUKUYOMI S-SATO BUT– B-B-BUT IF IT’S NOT TOO MU-MUCH– T-TO ASK PLEASEJUSTCALLMESA–…to…”
The last syllable just sort of fizzled out as Tsukuyomi’s voice fades in realization. The boy trembled, sinking to the ground with a flustered cry as he covered his (slowly growing red) face with his hands. There was a pause, before he parted the fingers on one hand to peek back up at Shinobu.
“…I-I’m… I-I’m– I-I’m so sorry– u-um, do you… n-need… anything…? Um… Ka-Kanamori-san, right…?”
(…he really hoped no one thought him not mentioning his talent was weird.)
Aaand there goes the cans as Shinobu’s hands flew to cover his ears.
He more or less got the gist of what Tsukuyomi said. He didn’t really expect such a knee jerk reaction, freezing him in place. The other falling down was just the icing on the cake. Shinobu looked around the station, trying to make sure there wasn’t any witnesses. His fear faded when he realized that the mystery student was still alive. Still, what a reaction! It went better(?) than he hoped! Giving the downed student a large smile, Shinobu forced out a laugh.
“Easy, easy! Didn’t mean to scare you half to death! You must be the ‘high-strung’ type, huh? Sorry, didn’t know any better~”
He hit Tsukuyomi on the back too roughly for it to be a friendly gesture.
“And you’re absolutely right about who I am, Sato-kun! You’re really good at remembering things! Though... I think getting up early made you less attentive; you didn’t say hello! I’d just thought I’d do everyone else a favor and ask! And boy, did you scream! I think even everyone outside the station heard you!”
Another laugh. Shinobu crouched down to pick up the coffee that he dropped. Once everything was gathered up, he looked back up at the other. His eyes narrowed.
“But... I thought we were supposed to say our talents? I must’ve scared you so badly that you forgot all about that! Don’t worry though, you get another chance to say it! I’m really excited to hear it!”
Shinobu continued to smile unflinchingly, staring Tsukuyomi down.

Snip Snap || Shinobu K. || Introduction
Shinobu sipped on his can of coffee as he watched his classmates introduce themselves. He noted some of their tired expressions, feeling proud of himself that he’d prepared for the occasion. In fact, he set his alarm clock two hours before the meetup time just so he could beat the rest of the students there. The anticipation of seeing them, as he liked to call it, kept him up all night and rendered the alarm useless. It did wake him up a bit by scaring the living daylights out of him. The clock received no thanks as it was chucked into the wall.
After a few people spoke, he decided that it would be a good time to introduce himself. Crumpling the now-empty can in hope that it would get someone’s attention, Shinobu craned his head up and gave everyone a smile.
“Hey, name’s Shinobu Kanamori. Title’s the Super High School Level Social Media Manager. I’m the main man behind Bechabechan’s Twitter or Okkanai Design’s Twitter, if you care about that kinda thing. You’ve probably seen some posts circulating around the Internet or something, pretty famous if I gotta say. Anyway, sorry if I called you "trash” or anything worse while in-character. Don’t worry, I’m much more polite in person.“
He tapped on the can with his fingernail as he thought of anything else. Something seemed to have crossed his mind as he smirked for a brief second. Shinobu retained his relaxed tone from before as he spoke once again.
"Oh, did you know? There’s vending machines that have coffee and energy drinks pretty much everywhere, I think You all look so tired and half-dead, so I’d thought I’d mention it. Well, see you at 11! Bye bye~”
With that, he walked off to throw away his can and to get some more coffee before he passed out.
