The only thing I'm worried about is that Pillowfort said it allows rape, child stuff, bad things, only if it's fictional. I don't know about you chief but if you do that even if it is fictional I'm getting my ban in a can

from what i understood pillowfort specifically doesnt allow sexual content of children but treats depictions of older teenage sexuality as a grey area because they dont want to try to define the exact point where that becomes inappropriate vs legitimate to include in a story about teenagers

also, yk, a lot of fictional characters it’s hard to tell at a glance if theyre supposed to be like 17 or 19, which would make it difficult to moderate and easy to abuse if their rule was just that any sexual content of characters under 18 is banned outright. like, ive gotten harrassed by people because i drew smut of link and sidon and their personal headcanon for link was that hes under 18. i havent played botw but whenever i’m not sure of the age of a character i get commissioned to draw i research it pretty thoroughly before i accept, and had made pretty dang sure that this was not canon, but they were adamant that i was wrong and felt strongly enough about it that they told me i was choosing to be a paedophile and they hoped i rotted in hell. trying to moderate reports about that kind of thing across an entire site would be fucking impossible. between that and the fact that its reasonable for content about older teenagers to touch on teenage sexuality without being porn (see, like, TONS of YA, lmao), imo it seems like a fairly reasonable approach to discouraging erotic content of children in a way that’s actually feasible for them to moderate ?

that aside, fictional depictions of abuse, rape etc are allowed on most sites that permit adult content and i wouldnt be comfortable posting to a site that banned that kind of thing because my content frequently involves themes of nonconsent, violence and power imbalances (eg bdsm, hypnosis, surprise horny transformation, hard vore)

i’m frankly more worried pillowfort have bitten off more than they can chew in terms of their budget and organisational capacities by trying to take on tumblr’s smut runoff than i am that its rules permit ‘bad things’

quick update on my non-tumblr sites situation: i’m still considering pillowfort, but since it’s emerged that smut isn’t allowed on .io domains and they’re planning to switch domains so they can host that kind of content, i’m waiting for that to actually happen before i get up on there. if and when that pans out, i’ll link it on here!

you can still find my nsfw content on twitter and furaffinity -- and i just posted the rest of the predator/prey role reversal tf sequences on both of those if you want to check them out (although iirc adult content on FA can’t be viewed if you don’t have an account)! if anyone has suggestions for other sites worth checking out for sharing this kind of stuff, I’d be happy to hear em!
