imagine mira and zoey knew about rumis patterns a long time ago but thought she had it under control (contained area on body, hunter sword, killing demons), so when they saw her covered in patterns and refusing to kill demons they thought she got converted and that’s why they held up their weapons

Same anon who said the Rujinu stuff and damn that other tumblr post is so right. Genuinely this movie would not have happened if Rumi revealed her demon origins to the other girls sooner. The other girls only reacted the way they did at the reveal cause what else were they supposed to do. Mira gave her multiple chances to explain and her dropping the mention of Jinu definitely didn’t help 😔

I remember seeing another post that was talking about how the other girls didn’t even know a half demon child was possible so when they saw the markings they thought Rumi betrayed them by making a deal with Gwi-Ma or something which damn. The angst I hate it here

Definitely agree Jinu has to die in the end though cause as much as I want to give him some leeway in his actions (firm believer that making deals with Gwi-Ma are like a monkey’s paw. Jinu didn’t specify he wanted his whole family to be rich so Gwi-Ma is just “you wanted to be rich right? Here you go. Also you can’t invite your family cause the king has the final say here and if he doesn’t want them there then they ain’t coming sucks to suck loser) he still needed to repent in some way

also, i agree jinu definitely didn’t deserve to be treated as bad as he did because he didn’t understand the repercussions, but totally agree that personal sacrifice was his repentance for sacrificing his family for personal gain.

rujinu makes sense to me as they were two crumbling people leaning against each other for support, but relationships shouldn’t be about crumbling. it’s about picking up each others pieces and building a better foundation. cue polytrix.

in essence i support rujinu in the sense that he stays dead, and long live my poly yuri

I get the appeal of Rujinu tbh cause there’s something for Rumi having someone she feels understands her struggles and can give her support in a way Zoey and Mira can’t (not because they wouldn’t be supportive, they obviously accept her being a demon at the end) because they can’t truly understand the shame and guilt those markings mean. Sure the guilt Rumi feels is different from Jinu but it shows up the same in the markings. Plus having Jinu comfort her worst fears about herself, thinking she’s a mistake, is very moving/cute

I do still only seriously ship Rujinu if the dynamic is like

yes, mira and zoey don’t perfectly understand what it means to have those markings. but jinu doesn’t either. he shares the pain of having markings but he has markings because something he did. rumi was born believing she was a mistake, not because she made one. he shares in her shame because he’s the only one who knows about it, not because he knows what it feels like.

mira and zoey both know shame. shame from being too much, too different. shame from not belonging, from being a mistake - the same shame rumi feels. the only reason they didn’t understand is because they didn’t have the chance to.

also, tbh, jinu needed to die. he needed to die so rumi could move on. they helped each other but was never permanent, another lost soul to the endless shame that both were working to be freed of. once the shame was gone, what was left of their bond? her real family/soulmates are the ones who loved her unconditionally. not because of their shared shame, not in spite of it, but out of pure love and acceptance.

so, i agree that jinu is supportive and has very cute scenes with rumi and it’s obviously very valid to ship them (disregard the fact both these posts are based on funny haha and i looked way too deep) but polytrix will forever have my heart

I think Zoey curses like CRAZY. She seemingly went to public school in the US— there’s no way she made it out of there without picking up a swearing problem.

But! I think she curses mostly in English. Her Korean is more influenced by her family/‘ proper’ Korean so she’s very polite and kinda old fashioned sometimes. When she’s speaking English she says fuck like every sentence.

I just think it would be funny if she stubbed her toe and goes on a rant that starts with Motherfucker and just keeps going while Mira , who only understands half of it and Rumi, who speaks English but almost none of the bad words, just stare at her.

I mean, isn't the reason everyone draws Martin as fat because that's how he's described in canon? TMA is pretty light on character descriptors so when Martin describes himself as "not exactly the smallest guy in the world" it stands out as noticable.

? he could just be a little tall. like he just describes that it's kinda hard for him to fit through a little window, which doesn't really describe anything other than the way he sees himself. sort of just shows he's an adult man
