Tatsuya Endo-sensei mentioned that he created Spy x Family to help with his artist's block and called it his "rehabilitation work". he also mentioned not really liking spies and not having an attachment to his characters.

when what you are passionate to draw of is not what the world wants to see, is a bit sad.

which, i agree; majority of the audience likes to see cool and charismatic characters and cute characters. and i feel bad that his two other works, which he was actually passionate about, did not become popular.

80% of Ep 5 is so different from the manga! it's so refreshing to see something different in the anime!!
