Midnight Wanderings || Wizard & Molly
Molly: He couldn't have gotten too far, Molly reasoned, running quickly through the darkened streets of Castanet. Suddenly his silvery hair came into view, acting like a beacon the way the moonlight caught it. Out of breath, she didn't have strength to yell, but she quickly caught up to him and grabbed at his arm, holding it close. Why did he have to walk off into the dark??
Wizard: Having something grab onto his arm almost made him have a heart attack. But, the moment he saw who it was, he calmed down. Just a little, he still found himself nervous when she was close. Wizard stopped walking, and glanced down at her. Ugh, he felt so sick... Human drinks are the worst.. But, she looked like she was a bit flushed and out of breath. "Are you okay, little field mouse?" He was still a bit drunk, so the nickname just ended up slipping out.
Molly: She didn't have time to ponder his nickname when she realized how close she was to him. A little flustered, she forcibly made herself detach from his arm. "S-s-s-s-sorry. Um, I was just... I was... worried." Her eyes fell to her feet. "About you," she was mumbling now, "cause you walked off so suddenly." And right after he had asked her on a... a... after he had asked her to accompany him out sometime.
Wizard: Wizard tilted his head, not quite sure what was so worrying about that. He tended to come and go quickly. But it was a bit touching that she cared so much. "I just.. Feel nausious." He said, quietly, thinking about it making him feel a bit worse. "You humans drink terrible stuff." He continued, all he wanted to do was go home. But, he didn't mind talking to her. He would just rather they both be sitting so he didn't think about how dizzy he was.
Molly: "Oh... well... well I've always heard fresh air is good if you feel bad. Why don't we... sit down somewhere?" She looked around for a bench. The church grounds were close by, maybe they could go there? "Unless, ah, you want to be alone..."
Wizard: He shook his head. He didn't particularly mind Molly's company. She was sweet and gentle, unlike most of the brash girls in Harmonica Town. "Let's go sit at the church grounds," he said, quietly, and began walking. But, this time, he paused, remembering to wait for Molly this time.
Molly smiled slightly and caught up to him. They walked next to each other, her arm brushing against his every now and then. She really wanted to grab his hand, and not just because it was dark outside, but she wasn't sure if she should.
Wizard: Wizard wasn't one to pick up on hints too well, so all he did was walk beside her in a silence. Not that he minded it, the noises of night time were calming him down a llittle. It was already feeling like the alchohol was simmering down a little bit. But, that didn't stop his nausea or dizziness, just his ability to think straight. Once they reached the stairs, he than motioned for Miolly to grab his hand. He remembered every crack and creak of these steps, so he wasn't sure if she did, but didn't want to risk her falling.
Molly: It was like her body had been waiting to hold his hand. Hers instantly found his and, as they ascended the stairs, she glued herself closer to him in order to help support him. If he was still feeling bad from the drink she didn't want him to fall on the stairs. That would be bad.
Wizard: Them helping each other up the stairs, he couldn't help but think they were like an old couple. It was kind of nice.. He wouldn't mind if it stayed like that for a few hundred years. Oh.. But humans can't live that long. He almost depressed himself for a moment, but snapped back into his normal stoic self as they made it up the last step. "We did it." He said, before quickly going to hobble over to a bench and let out a sigh of relief.
Molly: Molly followed him and took the seat next to him. "Are you feeling okay? You drank a lot." Molly had seen a few people getting drunk in college but she had always avoided them. Or rather, she had never really had time for it.
Wizard: "I just.. Feel nausious. Really sick." He said, with a sigh, before he rested his head on her shoulder. He just couldn't hold up his head any longer. It felt like it was a thousand pounds/
Molly: If this had been a different situation, Molly would've been furiously blushing. Instead, her arm came up around his back and began to rub it up and down. Rubbing her back always made her feel better and she hoped it was the same for Wizard. "Well, rest here as long as you like. I'm here for you."
Wizard almost felt himself falling asleep, but forced himself to stay awake. Sort of, he had his eyes closed, and was simply enjoying the warmth from her, as well as the fact he didn't have to force himself to look at the blurry world. "You know," he began, quietly, still not fully having restraint on what he says. "Every so hundred years, a nice person like you comes along, and it makes me wonder who went right in the world. What sort of rights and wrongs were done to make such a wonderful person such as you.."
Molly wasn't fully aware that drinks made you a bit looser with your words and was taking him seriously. "M-m-me?" She remembered him and Carlos giving her compliments earlier and she blushed slightly. "I-I-I'm just Molly. Nothing special."
Wizard: He would have shook his head if he had the ability to, but he almost felt like he was melting into her. It was soothing and sweet, exactly like she was. "You would say that," he said to himself, quietly, as he reached for her hand and felt himself drifting to sleep on the bench.
Molly laced her fingers through his. Gosh, why he make her heart beat so fast? She was used to feeling her heart racing when she was scared, but not like this. She leaned against him more, unsure of what she was feeling or how to respond.
Wizard: It took him another few moments, before he remembered that he shouldn't be sleeping. Rather, the crisp air reminded him. One half of him was mildly cold. He grabbed his cloak, and put it over Molly's shoulders, so she wouldn't get cold. "Do you want me to walk you home?"
Molly: "Oh, are you.. are you feeling better?" She drew his cloak around her, relishing in its warmth and scent. Even though they were in the dead of night, she felt very safe. In fact, she was wishing this moment would last for awhile longer. What about the stars he had tried to show them earlier? She had been too unfocused earlier to appreciate them, but if he wanted to go she wasn't going to make him stay.
Wizard: Wizard shook his head, if he could never move again, he wouldn't. But, he was concerned for the girl. He wanted her to stay warm, he wanted her to be home and safe. "I am worried about you.." He mumbled, quietly. "I don't want you to catch a cold. Besides, there are better things to do than to be around me when I'm in this condition."
Molly shook her head, curls swaying side to side. "If you aren't feeling well then you shouldn't move yet. And besides... I feel safe when I'm with you. So.. let's stay here a bit longer. Besides, I don't want to leave you if you feel bad..." her voice trailed off, as if she was slightly embarrassed by what she was saying. But she really wanted to, especially if he wasn't feeling better yet.
Wizard: Listening to her, Wizard had to wonder how she didn't consider herself anything special. He knew pretty well that humans were selfish, to the point they neglect the Harvest Goddess, even just neglect friends from time to time. But here she was, willing to stay for him, someone who she wasn't so well aqquanted with. It was.. Nice. "We can stay more." He said, quietly, going back to resting his head on her shoulder. "Just don't catch a cold."
Molly smiled faintly. "Your cloak is keeping me warm, so I'll be fine." Her hand resumed rubbing against his back. "I'm more worried about you. Aren't you cold?"
Wizard was pretty comfortable with weather of any type. It was a bit brisk, but he didn't want to worry Molly at all. He knew if he said anything relating to being cold, she would force him home anyways. "You're keeping me warm enough," he said, giving her a very small, rare smile.
Molly: If Molly blushed anymore, she wouldn't need Wizard's cloak to keep warm. "C-c-can you tell me about the stars," she stammered, avoiding his comment. Maybe a change of topic would help clear her mind, and keep him focused on something other than how he was feeling.
Wizard: The stars? Yes.. the stars. "Well, Orion's belt is right there." He began, as he pointed up towards the sector it was in. "In some nights, you can actually see Orion's whole figure. His head, his club and shield.." He said, as he continued pointing towards stars.
Molly followed his hand to the stars, trying to pick out to where he was pointing. "Right there," she asked, pointing to what she thought was Orion's Belt. It was hard to tell, though, since they didn't have the same line of vision.
Wizard shook his head, as he reached for her hand and pointed it just a bit upwards. "That's his shield, now this is Orion's belt." He said, quietly, before trailing his hand down from hers, and up her arm, before noticing what he was doing and just going back to sitting there, awkwardly. "It's nice though," he mumbled, "that you take interest in this.. People usually don't."
Molly: She followed where he pointed her hand, her skin shivering from his touch. After he let her go and leaned back, her eyes followed him. Would now be a good time to ask her question? She really wanted to ask him... "They're beautiful," she replied softly. "I never realized night wasn't such a scary time." She let her question go. She just didn't have the nerve.
Wizard: "Night time? Scary?" He almost scoffed, but held it in to just simply shake his head and shrug. Wizard knew she was a timid girl, so making fun of her timid personality wouldn't be the smartest thing to do, she'd probably just shrivel up and hide. "The only thing scary about night time is what your mind puts in night time.." He stated, crossing his arms, starting to feel a tad bit cold now that he stopped holding hands with the girl.
Molly nodded. Many had told her the same thing before, but Molly couldn't help but be afraid. "Well, I'm a lot less scared when I'm with you... I don't really know why." She began pick at her skirt, her feet shuffling across the ground. A bubbling nervous feeling was rising from her gut. "Ah.. there was... something..." her words trailed off as her voice got smaller.
Wizard had almost had a heart attack of the sweetness of her words. No one had particularly said something like that to him before, so he was caught pretty off-guard. Wizard turned away for a moment to cover his face, in case it showed that he was flushed by her words. But, soon turned back as he didn't catch what she said. "What is it?" He asked, leaning in a little, looking at her intently with his two-tone eyes, afraid to miss what she said again.
Molly: Ah! So close! Her face flushed. "I-I-I-I um.. wanted to ask... why you... asked me..." she couldn't say the last words, not when he was staring at her so closely. Her lips trembled and she shut her eyes. "Why you asked me to accompany you out sometime in the future?" She hadn't been able to say 'date' after all.
Wizard tilted his head, than pulled away. He heard all of her question, but .. Wasn't sure how to answer what she was asking. It took him a moment, before he thought of an answer that should suffice. He hoped. Molly was a shy girl, but she could be inquisitive at times. "I told you before, didn't I?" He asked, quietly, leaning in to her shoulder once more. "You're different from other humans.." Better.
Molly: Different? She was just Molly though. She liked plants, she supposed that was different. She was shy where most others were loud. He leaned against her shoulder again and her heart started to pound. Her hand unconsciously brushed against his, seeking to hold it but not having the courage to just grab it. "Are.. are you feeling better," she asked quietly after a moment.
Wizard: "Sort of.." He said, quietly, before reaching out to grab her hand again. His psychic ability hadn't come back yet, he just.. Wanted the warmth. "I want to sleep." He said, before going to look back up at the stars, letting out a small sigh. Nights were so nice. If only there was a way to sleep outside. "Would you tuck me in?" Wizard teased, although, honestly, he wouldn't mind it.
Molly: She smiled when he grabbed her hand, reveling in it's warmth. It felt so nice to just hold hands, to be so close to someone. It was a rare occurrence for Molly. Oh, if he was sleepy then they should- "T-t-t-tuck you in? W-w-w-well.. if you.. if you wanted me too." She blushed and turned her head to the side. Would he really want her to? And if he was still feeling out of it then it was her job to make sure he got into bed safe.
Wizard again, almost had a heart attack. But, he couldn't lie. Something like that would be so nice. Plus, he still felt very out of it. Maybe, when he woke up, he would just bury it as a memory and forget about it anyways. So screw pride, right? "Please." He said, quietly, as he went to stand up, not breaking their hand holding so that he could help Molly stand as well.
Molly: Ah, he really wanted her to?? She stood up with him, careful to keep his cloak around her. She'd hate it if it fell off. She nodded in agreement. If he really wanted her to of course she would. She waited for him to lead the way back.
Wizard: Wizard nodded as well, a sort of silent form of communication. Holding onto her hand a bit tighter, he began leading her down the stairs, carefully. As if she were made of porcelain. Making sure every step that she didn't fall, he couldn't help but reach and grab her waist when it looked like she merely wobbled a little, blushing at how close they suddenly were.
Molly: She was so nervous and she didn't know why. She carefully took the steps, holding onto Wizard's hand for support, but even that couldn't stop her from losing her footing. When it seemed like they were about to fall, she suddenly found herself close to Wizard, his arm around her waist and their faces right next to each other. Her own hands had come up to rest on his chest to steady herself, but she didn't pull away. She couldn't say anything even if she knew what to say. All she could do was stare at him doe-eyed, lips slightly parted.
Wizard: It was a bit odd, but Wizard's first worry was the hand on his chest. Would she hear how crazy his heart beat was? Would she point it out? Was it weird? Than, a slow realization at how close their faces was. In between his panic, one of the more prominent thoughts were how pretty she was. Her skin was soft, her eyelashes long, and her eyes were like what he dreamed of in a pinnacle of perfect human structures. He would have kissed her, he wanted to. But he feared the alcohol would smell too strong, so he pulled away, and mumbled a quick sorry. Damn.
Molly: "I-i-i-i-i-i-it's f-f-f-f-fine," she said, her face turning a scarlet red. "T-t-t-thank you for... for catching me." Her eyes were down cast in an attempt to hide her flush.
Wizard: All he could do was nod, as he went to lead her waist back to beside him, as he finished leading her down the stairs. His house was pretty close to the staircase, at least. So it wasn't long before they were at his door, and he led her inside. Flicking on the light switch, he flinched a little. The bright was a bit too much for him, but he was sure Molly had enough of tripping for the night. "My house is a lot quieter at night, believe it or not.." Wizard said, quietly.
Molly: "Well it's pretty quiet during the day too," she chuckled softly. "I like it though. Being in the quiet is peaceful. And peace leads to rest, which you need a lot of." She smiled at him.
Wizard laughed a little, mostly to himself though. He was about to lead her to his bed area, before blushing hard. What was he doing? I mean, he merely was going to be tucked in, but this intimacy was something he hadn't experienced often.. Rather, ever, really. So this felt like so much, he may explode. "Uhm.." He began, quietly, nervously. His heart and head was pounding. "I-i-if this is too much, you don't have to..."
Molly: What? Why wouldn't she want to? "I told you I would. And you need rest. Now c'mon." She pulled him towards the bed. "Do you need to change first? You shouldn't get your clothes wrinkly." Ah, she was still wearing his coat, actually. "Oh I should take this off." She began to slip out of his cloak.
Wizard: Seeing her take off his cloak, he had to clear his throat to remind himself to stay calm. He knew the girl didn't think fully about what she was doing. Than again, neither did he. But, he had enough nervousness and no experience to still be able to feel nervous about it. He should change out of his clothes, they were cold and wrinkly, but he couldn't bring himself to. "Ah.. Its... o-o-kay. I sleep like this anyways, I have a thousand pairs of the same outfit..." right..
Molly carefully set his cloak aside, folding it neatly. "That's really not good Wizard. But since you're not feeling well I'll let it slide. You should really get some pajamas. Now, in bed." She gently pushed him down to the bed.
Wizard nodded, as he found himself very slowly crawling into bed. Every motion he'd glance over at Molly, making sure it was okay. He was so afraid to overreach his boundaries with her. He didn't want to scare her away or lose her at all. It was weird how even in his state, he was sober enough to know that. Finally, he layed in bed, very very still. Like he was playing dead, but staring at the roof, mentally telling himself not to think of anything inappropriate or rude.
Molly: He didn't look like he was comfortable and Molly frowned. "Wizard, you need to relax. C'mon," She pulled the covers up over him, leaning close to make sure he was covered completely. She tried to smile at him reassuringly.
Wizard: He wanted to relax, but it was so difficult. He never had anything like this happen. However, he nodded, slowly, and went to squirm into the blankets a bit more. "Uhm.." He began, this seeming to be the new trend to how he starts his sentances. "T-th-thank you."
Molly smiled. "Of course. I said I would, didn't I?" Now what did her mom used to do when tucking her in? She pull the covers tight and then... Molly flushed. Oh Goddess. Could she do that? She suddenly went quiet.
Wizard: Her sudden quietness made Wizard sit up quickly. "What-what's wrong?!" It was him, wasn't it? He was being too forward? Ohhhhhhhh god.
Molly: "Ahh! No no, it's fine, lay back down." She pushed him back down, leaning more on the bed in order to keep him there. She didn't think about what kind of position she was in.
Wizard: Suddenly having the girl over top of him, Wizard had no choice but to lay there. She really was so close. Oh, his heart attack was starting up again, he could hear his heart beat in his ears. However, he fell silent. He didn't want to break the moment, he actually didn't mind her so close.
Molly: She could do this. It wouldn't be a complete tuck-in if she didn't! She hesitated and then leaned forward and kissed Wizard on the forehead. "Goodnight," she whispered softly, her heart beating like crazy.
Wizard felt himself blush. It was sweet, but not quite what he expected.. But at the same time, he felt himself closing his eyes, and almost instantly, found himself falling asleep. He hadn't noticed he had himself holding her hand, but it wasn't long before he was sleeping, curled up, holding onto her hand tightly.
Molly smiled, relief flooding through her, and she slowly tried to remove her hand. But it wasn't budging. She frowned and tried again, but still nothing. Well... it seemed there was only one option. She hoped Wizard wouldn't mind. She carefully slipped off her boots and crawled into bed with him, sliding under the covers and curling up next to him. Even if the light had been off, Molly would still feel safe.
