You have no idea how oddly comforting this show is. With other shows, I see the female characters become nothing but love interest despite being cool and independent, I see male characters reduced to being unfavorably undeveloped clueless trash. I see gay characters die.

This show treated me so well.

I was not bored, the female characters became alpha, gay, and ultra rich. The male characters are kind and gentle, and with more defined and acceptable atrocities. The gays win. They all killed a disliked criminal that does not get redeemed. This show is beautiful and comforting, and I haven't watched another show since then because I will only compare it to NBC Hannibal.

You know, Hannibal spent so much time comparing Will (and himself) to God ("killing must feel good to God, and aren't we made in his image?") and it just makes me think about the courtroom scene when Hannibal is on the stand and they make him swear on the bible and Hannibal says at the end of the oath "So help me God" while making eye contact with Will because Will is his God.

Will is the one he worships and wishes to have his soul bound with in the afterlife. He is the Reckoning and the Rapture. The second coming of Christ was upon them and Will was not going to be a savior, but a tyrant. And Hannibal knew it.

Hannibal was and is his apostle, spreading the news of his return. He is his friend, Peter, who saw him walk on water and was not afraid. He is also Judas, who kissed him as betrayal, who ultimately came back to him, Judas on his knees and ending his life in utter devotion. Peter and Judas, who believed in the lamb of God and all the powers he held.

And oh, was the wrath of the lamb upon them.

in hannibal's tableau of the judge, the heart is ever so slightly outweighing the brain on the scale. it is also illuminated in light, while the brain is in the shadow. could this be an allusion to (or at least foreshadowing of) hannibal's love/heart beginning to outweigh, outshine, and eclipse his usual sense/mind when it comes to will?
