Several Theories based on Ch. 123
More evidence for Womb Removal Theory this chapter, unfortunately, folks.
My greatest doubt in my theory lay in Ghoul regenerative abilities - I wasn’t certain whether entire internal organs could regenerate if physically removed from the body. But if they can, then Mutsuki has a way to counteract that. She has RC suppressants in her quinques - a toxin to prevent it from regrowing.
I also believe that Mutsuki will have the opportunity to pump a lot more suppressants into Touka when she holds her captive. Yoriko’s fingers have sent Touka a grim message that her friend is at Mutsuki’s mercy, and Mutsuki is very willing to hurt her. To save her, I think Touka will go willingly - just like Kaneki did before her.
I think an ally will rescue Kaneki just in time, and this ally will be Akira Mado. Returning to Goat after Amon’s words, she is a character who both needs to reconcile with Kaneki and has unfinished business with Mutsuki. Furthermore, to mirror her role in the original Anteiku Raid arc, she needs to save someone close to her in contrast to her enormous loss in the first series. But, as Touka is going willingly, she can’t be stopped. The Second Anteiku Raid Arc will have begun. The manager of the coffee shop is in mortal peril, and Kaneki must charge into the belly of the beast to save her. Koma and Irimi will inevitably help, and I think this time, the whole of Goat will as well. Just as the CCG raided Anteiku in years past, it is time for the new Anteiku to raid the CCG Headquarters, where Mutsuki is keeping Touka.
Urie has already caught the scent of Mutsuki’s misdeeds, and the two will eventually join in battle when Urie follows her to the depths of the CCG and finds out the truth that will have been kept secret from the rest of the institution. As Goat raids the main quarters, Saiko, Suzuya and Ito will be the ones to lower the gates and ease their conquest. Mutsuki will defeat Urie, but only just, and as she tries to escape she will find her path blocked by Suzuya - the CCG’s new Reaper. Mutsuki is the heir to Kaneki’s tragedy - if Urie is her Amon, Suzuya will be her Arima, and we all know how that story ends.
Touka may find many things while in the labs of the CCG, including Kanou’s Lab, Rize and Yoshimura, or possibly even Arata. I think the one to free her from her captivity will be Takeomi, joining Urie in his investigation (two rivals finally working together) after Urie shows him the picture in Mutsuki’s room, perhaps after Takeomi shows him a picture of Yoriko when worrying about where she is. It would be fitting as it was the old Kuroiwa who played a large part in bringing down the old manager - now the new Kuroiwa is rescuing the new one.
The key to finding Yoriko from there relies on the parcel sent to Mutsuki. I think that the parcel contains more of Yoriko’s appendages, and that it was sent by a hitherto unseen co-conspirator in Mutsuki’s plans. There’s one person who is both a friend to Mutsuki and effed up enough to do something like this.
My bet would be that Tokage is torturing Yoriko and sending the parts to Mutsuki so she can use them to traumatise Touka. His motivation in all this is pure sadistic pleasure. Touka and Takeomi need only follow the return address to find them (Urie probably having told Takeomi about the parcel as well).
The tide will turn in Goat’s favour as the CCG is thrown into chaos by defections, and Kaneki will probably meet Scarecrow during this time - Hide did, after all, play a vital role in the Anteiku Raid Arc. When it becomes clear to the Clowns that Furuta has lost, they will turn against him too and with them the Oggai, and Furuta will run to Kanou’s Lab to safety to find Kanou against him too and Rize free from her vat, ready to eat.
So yeah that’s just a compilation of some thoughts about what will happen next. Also, Kaneki vs Furuta is almost guaranteed.
