“neil perry’s death was stupid/unnecessary and it shouldnt have happened”

mind you, he killed himself. he didnt just “die”, he commited suicide. if you think he “shouldnt have died” then you missed the whole point of the movie. in neil’s mind, death was the only way he could be free. he felt TRAPPED. suicide was how he thought he could escape. and he didnt just do it some random thursday, he had this building up inside of him for YEARSS so when he finally felt somewhat free (when he did the play) and his father just took it away from his as usual, it was the last straw. it was the last thing he needed to realize that as long as he was alive, he would never be able to do what he wanted.

also, suicide no matter the reason, shouldnt ever be considered stupid. whether the person did it over smth small or big, its still a persons LIFE being taken. it is extremely immature and disrespectful to just pass it off as a dumb child killing themselves for a “lame reason”.
