He tried to even his breaths, but no matter what he did they came out shaky. He felt the warmth of the coat being put on him, and his fingers moved to pull it more over himself. Now that he was soaked, that cool breeze from earlier was relentlessly cold, and his shivers came from both that and the water tingling on his skin. He nods lightly. “That’s.. fine..” Thank goodness there was somewhere indoors around here..
He starts to try moving his legs, using one to push the other up while still keeping the coat on him. He was a bit wobbly, but otherwise managed to stay upright.
Making sure their coat is wrapped firmly around the wet noodle, they begin to lead him back the way they came from, Peppermint still trotting circles around them both as if trying to get their attention. Not now, Pepper, Celeste can't help but think. We've got to help this boy.
Since he seemed a bit unsteady on his feet, Celeste was careful to stay close in case they felt the need to use them as support--but not too close, of course. Just close enough that he may feel the option is there, should he require it.
"You'll b-be fine, monsieur," they say with an optimistic smile and a soothing voice--or as soothing as stuttering can be--leading him back up the road towards a fairly simple little inn not too far off. One of those little in-between resting places between bigger towns... very convenient little things. It was a humble place, nothing big. Just enough to give people a dry place to spend the night and grab a bite to eat. It was not too terribly long a walk, bless Arceus, and Peppermint even helped out by jumping up to open the door for them both. What a dear.
Stepping inside, they lead the drenched boy to their simple little room upstairs, giving the innkeeper a reassuring wave as if to tell them everything was under control before heading up the steps, careful to make sure the boy didn't fall over or something. How long was he in the water...? Celeste has never seen someone so wobbly after a little dip. Just a few more steps before the room door was reached, and they dug through their pocket for the key... before realizing it was still downstairs. Whoops.
His whole body felt like it went numb from the tingling sensation on his skin. He tried to will his body to move, to do something; but he accomplished little more than writhing about in the water. Suddenly it was burning at the back of his throat as well. Escape.. he needed escape..
Suddenly he felt something push against his body and he was rising in the water towards the shore. Sweet, sweet land.. He quickly scrambled into the grass once free from the aquatic prison. His whole body felt like it was trembling as he coughed, his body trying to eject any water from his lungs. The tingling was still everywhere on his body. He needed it to stop.. if this went on too long..
He quickly turned to look at this person, whoever it was that had saved him, though it was still fairly dark and he couldn’t make out many details on their features. A mixed expression graced his features, that of fear and desperation.
"I need to dry off-.." he pleaded, the trembling making its way to his voice much to his dismay.
Even after the boy was up on land, Peppermint still stubbornly pressed against him with her blessedly thick skull as if he were still in imminent danger. Looking him over, Celeste was unsure whether he was still in danger or not--he looked terrible, to be honest. Not like ugly terrible but like unhealthy terrible-
"Dry off? Ah--of course, of course, one moment," they say, unbuttoning their rather long and warm coat and shrugging it off their shoulders. "Ah--your clothes are soaked. Can you stand? We'd best get you indoors. There's an inn not to far off from here where I'm staying, let's get you there and get you dried off. I mean if--if that sounds all right."
Meanwhile Peppermint watched on. Now that the strange smelling human was safe, Celeste was paying far too much attention to them. Far too much. Is she being replaced? Should she put them back in the water... decisions, decisions!
Scottie shivered as a slight breeze carried with it a bit of a chill. “Tch..” Stupid cold.. it wasn’t actually very chilly but Scottie always found himself more vulnerable to it and it was annoying. The last glimpse of the sun before it sank beneath the horizon indicated it wasn’t about to get warmer either. What a pain.. he didn’t think he was close to a town yet. He pulled out his pokenav to see if he was even going the right way only to be met with the unfortunate tragedy that the battery had run out. Gripping it tightly in frustration, he shoved it back into his pocket and scrunched his shoulders together. He wouldn’t call himself lost yet but..
"Adventuring is overrated.." he muttered bitterly to himself, kicking a rock by his foot as he walked. Light was becoming more scarce and he was finding it hard to see. Suddenly, he felt his foot catch on an overgrown root and he fell forward with a surprised grunt. However, that had not been the end of it as there had been a bit of an edge there leading downhill, and the unlucky trainer had taken a tumble down it. He squinted his eyes shut and waited for his body to come to a stop; which it did, however not in a way he would have liked.
At the bottom of the hill lay a quaint pond. A few lotad skittered away from the pond as Scottie splashed loudly into the small body of water. Scottie’s eyes flew open as soon as he felt the cold embrace of the water around him, but his body froze in shock.
Warm breaths puffed out in clouds of white mist as it left the young doctor's lips, their red scarf swaying lightly as they walk alongside a particularly fluffy linoone. It was cool and quiet... they were grateful for little moments like this. Calm. Peaceful. In moments like these, it felt as if everything was just as it should be.
Until their linoone started to dart around in circles to get their attention.
"What's wrong, Peppermint," Celeste asked, feeling the linoone's unease. "Did you find something? Got a thorn in your paw?"
It took another moment before they felt something else--something stronger than their pokemon's unease. They follow Peppermint to the edge of the road, glancing down to see what appeared to be something--or someone--in the pond at the bottom.
Ah. That would explain it, then.
All Celeste had to do was point to the sinking form in the water, looking to the linoone with a sense of urgency. Peppermint did not need another moment before she ran off and dove headfirst into the water, using all the strength in its little body to shove the sinking being back to the shore as Celeste carefully inched closer to the water, careful not to slip down as well as they didn't know how to swim. No point having them both drown, after all.
It was a beautiful day; the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and for once he was feeling rather confident in himself. The only logical thing to do in such occasions would be to dance, of course.
It did not take long before he found a suitable record to play on the old-fashioned phonograph and soon the sounds of expertly-played pianos rung through the air. "One two three, one two three..." he softly repeated to himself as he spun around the room, waltzing about with the grace of someone who clearly had a fair amount of practice. As the song picked up so did the speed of his movements--but he was not quite as good at faster waltzes, as his sudden bumping into something soft reminded him.
Wait... soft? Did one of his pokemon get inside--
What he intended to be a simple 'who are you and what are you doing in my house' turned into mindless screeching.

Céleste is a gardevoir! Gardevoir are known for their immense psychic ability, and Céleste uses his powers to appear human. It takes up a lot of his energy, though, so he certainly can't do all the fancy dimension-warping things as gardevoir can while in his human 'form'/illusion.
6. What is their family like? Do they have one?
He has an 'owner', so to speak, but he speaks of her as an adoptive sister. He was given to her when he was still a little ralts, since her parents thought a psychic-type pokemon would be good for her, since she's mute. Ralts' evolution line has telepathy and empathic abilities, after all, so they could speak to each other without having to say a word.

They're quite single. The thought of ever being in a relationship is a matter of much anxiety to him, since... he identifies with/is more interested in humans than pokemon, but... well, he's.... not a human. And is quite certain no human would willingly be with a pokemon.
9. What is their most prized possession? Why is it so important?
A book full of pressed flowers that he and his sister collected throughout their childhood.

Warm.

Uhhh... huh, I'm not sure, honestly. Dry and sweet things, probably. Since his nature is a balance of modest and timid, huehue

To be truly and fully human, probably.

Aaaaaand as of right now, that would still be his sister, aha.

Dog person. He feels that dogs are easier to get along with in general, and... dude, puppies.

For his career and research he'd probably read a lot of books on psychology and mental development as well as finding out what sort of emotional benefits various pokemon can have on people.
But secretly he likes the occasional cheesy romance novel or fantasy/adventure book

Snuggle up in fluffy blankets with his pokemon and watch television, perhaps bake some cookies and enjoy some tea or hot cocoa as well.

He hatched was born in Kalos but raised in Verdanturf, Hoenn.

He hasn't really decided yet, honestly. He wants to go back home to Verdanturf with his family, but at the same time he wants to travel the world and learn about everything.

He's basically a sort of counselor/therapist who specializes in using pokemon for treating his patients' anxiety and whatnot.

Eeeeverywhere.

Céleste is the most non-confrontational lil' guy ever. If he were caught up in a dangerous situation that his pokemon couldn't handle, he'd likely either run or have to drop his human illusion in order to make use of his psychic powers. Though that would be saved as a very last resort. Like... life-or-death situation kind of thing. He doesn't very much like dropping his illusion.
22. Do they have any sort of special power/what power would they want?
Being a gardevoir, he can speak telepathically (but not read minds, aha) and is more in tune with others' emotions, which is something that motivated him to take up the career path he did. I guess you could say he's an empath.
23. What’s their fashion sense?
I have no idea ahaha?//???/? Formal, I guess. Even in the most casual environments. He'd wear a tux to mcdonald's.
24. What do they think of snakes?
He'd... rather keep a safe distance from snakes.
25. What is their biggest pet peeve?
I... haven't thought of one yet, sorry! All in all, he's still a pretty new character and I haven't gotten the chance to really use him yet.

Losing any of their loved ones/being found out that he isn't actually human.

He's rather physically frail and kind of twiggy, actually. He bruises easily, too.

Thankfully he hasn't met anyone he's ever started to hate, as of yet.

He always strives to be a better version of himself, if that counts?

To restore his sister's ability to speak, to be less frail, and to be human, I think.

Immensely. He finds their innocent and curious outlook on life to be a refreshing change from the cynicism he often encounters in adults.

Whichever's safer, really. Which... would probably be the scenic route, I guess?

I'm not sure, really. I guess he's always believed that violence or negative thoughts won't solve anything, though. i-idk

He finds even the tiniest lies to be detrimental to the long-term trust of a relationship and firmly believes in always telling the truth, or just remaining silent when possible.

Not quite every situation, at least.

Not really, no.

He's fond of pastels, particularly pastel greens and pinks.

No to drugs, occasionally to alcohol. He tries to avoid alcohol though, since he's a bit of a lightweight.

Although he hasn't quite realized it yet, but following his goal has lead to him starting to lose his own happiness, really.

As far as gardevoir go, he's pretty average. In fact, he's probably a bit weak compared to others, but he has gotten skilled in creating illusions.

No idea, really. I guess by the end he'd like to be happy and content with everything he's managed to accomplish in life.

Not that I've decided on yet. He'd probably like it if his partner kept some clothes on (particularly a shirt or coat) while things happen but uh *cough* idk

He'd likely just go home to spend his last day with his long time family and friends, including his pokemon.

They... live in a world where even humans can use psychic powers. He himself is a psychic/fairy pokemon, I... I think he believes in magic, yeah.

Other then his sister, he does admire Prof. Sycamore for his positive and enthusiastic outlook on life.

Probably, but so does everyone else so ayyyyy. o wait you mean does he think he himself is attractive??? he probably just thinks of himself as average at best

Not being more careful during the battle he lost his Blaziken.

He's a sentimental sap and would probably try to just... contain them somehow. Maybe lock them up in a secure cage or room until he could find a cure.

Although he seems like a pushover, he's actually fairly good at saying no, especially if it's for the other person's own good.

He leans more towards science and art.

Maybe he likes those pokemon-related tv shows or something??? I'm not sure.

It was a bit of both, really. When his sister found out about his dreams and ambitions, she practically had to kick him out of the house in order to convince him to pursue them. Once he was out and about, though, the whole 'adventure' thing became a lot more fun.

Not much, really. He feels he's getting just about everything he needs, and is content with that.

Ariel.

He's... encouraging? Compassionate?

He's very insecure about his real body, I guess? Even in his human illusion he tries to avoid mirrors or drawing too much attention to his body.

He's fairly familiar with how the mind works.

None of the methods that help his patients particularly help him. He can help others but can't figure out how to help himself.

His bicolored hair, maybe? I dunno. His red eyes? Maaan, the pokemon universe has all sorts of rainbow people, idk what would be considered 'memorable'.

Although he tries to live in the moment, when alone or trying to sleep he tends to dwell on the past.

Seeing his sister struggle with day to day life due to her inability to speak and trouble relating to others really made him want to help her and others like her.

For the most part, yeah.

Probably not as good as it should be. He acknowledges his accomplishments and abilities, but is still rather critical of himself nonetheless.

He knows a few old fashioned ballroom-style dances like waltzes and whatnot, but that's about it. Anything that involves much movement of the hips or arms would likely cause him to end up falling all over the place like a clumsy penguin.

Classical, new age, indie, aaaand... occasional bit of pop when he's in just the right mood.

Hurting others simply for the sake of it and/or greed.

Every moment he spends on his rollerskates is a near-death situation for him.

Probably a goonie bird or albatross. Or a blue footed booby

He's fond of his name, yes. He feels it's rather regal and elegant and tries his best to live up to it.

Céleste means something like 'of the sky/heavenly', and Sauveterre means 'safe haven'.

He's probably been taunted by particularly intelligent dark and/or ghost-types before and likely has a fierce distrust of gengar for that very reason. Other then that, no.
96. Are they a light or heavy sleeper?
Very light sleeper, when he can manage to get to sleep at all.
97. What do they dream about when they sleep?
Depending on his mood, he could either end up dreaming about cheerful times with his family and pokemon, or might have nightmares about people finding out he's not human. That kind of thing.

Urban or suburban, I'd think.
99. Is there any moment or event that they feel defines their life and who they are now?
I'd like to think there was a time he had a fight with his sister where she ended up accusing him of not understanding her at all, and that sort of... caused something in his mind to click, I guess. Since then he's wanted to understand not only her, but all humans.
100. Why is this character important? To you, and/or to their world?
Well, I guess he's important to me because... I haven't really come across another character quite like him in the pokemon universe, and... part of it is sort of therapeutic as well, in a way. Writing him trying to build others up and to love themselves is a good reminder for me to do the same about myself, aha.
