REUNION! THE GANG IS BACK TOGETHER!!
second chance AU stuff, Petra's back from adventuring
Bonus:
Someone else pointed out that zooble show constant and unconditional support to gangle that's never reciprocated and I think it's best examplified in this scene.
Gangle is sulking and she casually drag zooble along for support. But for the first time, they're unresponsive. Zooble had ambitions and motivation for life, unlike Gangle. Losing all that is much harder on them than on anyone else. It would be the perfect moment for Gangle to return the comfort they gave her since the beginning, but instead she just slowly back away, whimpering.
Some people pointed out that zooble is forced into this masculine protector role, despite being quite a bit younger. But to me, they come accross more as gangle's mom. Giving her gentle reassurance and comfort, protecting her without expecting anything in return. Is it always going to be that way? Will gangle always back away and wait when zooble is the one to break? Wait for them to return to be their designated emotional support?
BUT WHO CAAAAAARES ABSTRAGEDY SEX SCENE IN THE CREDIT BABY!!!
Wait you’re so right actually

I hate it when TADC/Jax criticisms are met with "You didn't understand her character. She was CLEARLY supposed to be a cautionary tale!".
And I'm like no...? No, she was not. And if she is a cautionary tale, she too is badly written (despite the time put in her character). Think about it: A cautionary tale is supposed to show you that what this character is doing is wrong, why it is wrong. A cautionary tale should show the viewer if you continue to treat people like shit; people, in turn are not going to give a shit when it's your turn to suffer. A cautionary tale is supposed to show you what happens to the victim of your abuse; what they go through when you hurt them (whatever the reason for that hurt might be), the consequences of your actions.
What does Jax get? Do we see her being pushed away like she did to others? Do we see any character or the show itself talk about what she is doing is wrong (Ya, it would have to involve Gangle talking about how she actually feels)? Does the show ever take the proper time to show how much Gangle or Ragatha (or Ribbit even) has suffered and in what way? Does Jax grapple with the consequences of her actions before her abstraction? No. No she does not. This is why people call her character abuse apologia rather than a cautionary tale (as many people claim, is what Gooseworx intended).
I stand by my belief that Jax is a suicide fantasy. “When I kill myself everyone will understand how I was suffering without having to actually do anything or communicate my feelings, and they’ll like me again without me having to change or be good to them”
I don’t like Jax abstracting. But if she was going to abstract, then we shouldn’t also see inside her head. Ragatha should tell Pomni about Jax, and from that we can basically understand Jax’s deal, but we shouldn’t have closure.
If TADC is meant to be about a person who kills themselves, and you don’t want to romanticize suicide a-la-Thirteen Reasons Why, then you don’t get closure.

Hello Mr. Stirpe!!! Hope you and your family are doing well. I played MCSM back in 2015 i think?? I was so little! But so minecraft obsessed, I have such good memories of it and wouldn't trade it for the world :') so thank you for working on the game with so much care and dedication ❤️ And for being so open to talk about it, answer questions and all that! One of the few (if not the only) of the people involved in project that still say stuff of the game.
Sorry if it's tiring, and if it's very long I just wanted to express my appreciation :) and now if I can make a few last questions?? You don't have to answer all:
Out of the main cast, who is your favorite and why?
Why still answer questions after so long that the franchise ended?
Could you name a fond memory you have while working on MCSM?
Thank you for creating (being part of-) a game that gave me a wonderful time, until next time!
Hello! Thanks so much for the kind words - it blows my mind to imagine young kids playing the game eleven (eeeesh) years ago and now being old enough to be grown people. Lemme take a look at these questions:
Out of the main cast, who is your favorite and why?
I have a particular fondness for Jack and Radar, because they’re both characters whose creation I was heavily involved in - I pitched them, did first drawings of them, helped cast them, wrote the majority of their dialogue - and so I feel a particular sense of pride about them. But I also love Jesse because I spent so long being in their headspace and writing so much dialogue for them that I can’t help but still feel like I’ve got a little bit of them in me still.
Why still answer questions after so long that the franchise ended?
Believe it or not, there are still people discovering MCSM for the first time even now. To those people, it’s still fresh and exciting, and so I want to honor that excitement and be there for them. But also, there’s people like you who have been fans of MCSM since you were little kids and still care enough to send a message… so shouldn’t I still care enough to respond?
Could you name a fond memory you have while working on MCSM?
On Season 2, series director Jon Stauder and I were basically joined at the hip working out the story and solving problems. Whenever we couldn’t crack a story problem, we would walk across the street from the Telltale studio to this restaurant called BJ’s where we’d split a plate of boneless wings and have a few beers while we talked it over. I don’t remember any specific problems we were solving or eureka moments, but I have a lot of fond memories of sitting at that restaurant talking about our characters and stories and just trying to make each other laugh.
Cheers!
