9 weeks on T update. I think my voice is finally starting to drop!
7 week on T update! I recorded this a couple weeks ago, but forgot to upload it. 9 week update shortly
today is trans day of fuck
shit fuck damn
Update at 6 weeks on T. Still mostly subtle changes so far.Ā
5 week update, with batman hoodie and ridiculous hair brought to you by the ECCC con plague
Iām starting to get some changes, but Iām in a fun space ofĀ āIām pretty sure thereās more hair further up my legs, but also I havenāt really had reason to closely examine the side of my knee before, so I donāt actually know *how much* more there is.ā Ditto:Ā āAre my forearms actually a bit more defined, or have I just never looked for that before?ā
At the 3.5 week mark! Missed the 3rd week due to visiting family, and Iāll miss 4 and record at 5 weeks since iāll be out of town on Friday. (Yay, figuring out bringing syringe and medication through TSA!)
My 2 weeks on T update video. In the like... 3 day since I recorded this, I've definitely noticed a bit more acne starting.Ā
Fun new game: Is my throat sore because Iām fighting off a cold, or because my voice is dropping?
(Definitely just fighting off a cold for now, but still...)
And hereās todayās update, 1 week in.Ā
This is my video from a week ago, just before I went in for my T appointment.Ā
New me, new blog
Hey, all... 24 followers? Thatās actually like 20 more than I thought I had. Anyway, after not using this tumblr for just about a year, Iām completely changing the purpose of this blog.
The handful of IRL friends following this should know this already, but turns out Iām a trans dude, and I want to document my transition somewhere other than Facebook. So, uh, hi, Iām E, and Iāll be posting random updates about transitioning for whoever happens to see this.Ā
Speaking of which, we see a lot of the Mercy of Kalr crew only being told Sensitive Plot Things on a need-to-know basis. Were they told anything about the Presger gun in Ancillary Mercy, or as far as they knew did their Fleet Captain really just go outside and blow up a fleet of ships with a handgun?

Like my mama always says: āIf youāre going to make a crossover between Princeless and Rat Queens, you might as well go the whole very-nearly-royal nine yards and have them singing the latest Disney princess song: Let It Go Level Upā.
PS: Donāt worry, kids! All that red stuff on Violetās axe in the fourth picture is just, err⦠ketchup! Yeah, she used the blade to open a really obstreperous jar of tomato sauce, earlier. Ahem. (^_^ ;)
Come to think of it, if you ask Violet, sheād probably replace the āpunchā in āpunch some orcsā with another verb that has the vowel āUā in itā¦Ā ļ½( ^ Š· ^)-ā”
Nice!
Iāve been told before that kurtiswiebe and I should do a crossover. Ā Frankly Iām just not sure any bad guys would survive the combined awesome.
For the record, I would read the hell out of that crossover. And then force all my friends to read it too.Ā
Noelle Stevenson's Nimona is getting the animated treatment by Feast director
Noelle Stevensonās Nimona is getting the animated treatment by FeastĀ director
Itās been a good couple of weeks for Noelle Stevenson. Just two weeks after the announcement that her collaborative Boom! Studios comic Lumberjanes was getting a live-action adaptation, now comes word that her Eisner winning solo venture, Nimona, is going to be an animated feature. In a report from THR, FOX Animation has picked up the rights for the graphic novel which is set in a Medievalā¦

Thatās awesome!Ā
Bitch Planet #4
So I guess this is turning into a Bitch Planet blog. Deal with it.Ā
Anyway, I want to talk about one panel from Bitch Planet 4 that I almost skimmed over, but one of the background bits stopped me and gave me chills:
This is Kamau looking over the various inmates to figure out her Megaton team. In the background are the weights, names, and crimes of the various women. (And while it makes sense, given the set-up for Megaton, how great of a commentary is it that these women are immediately reduced to just their weight?)Ā
The one that made me stop and read the background in detail?Ā āCriminal Literacyā. Those two words alone say so much about the world these women come from. We donāt know any details yet, but it implies that the larger world of Bitch Planet is deliberately keeping women from reading something. Is it literacy of specific works? Specific fields? Or just reading above a certain level? Who knows, but any of them terrifies me, as an avid reader and bibliophile.
For anyone who skipped over this scene, below is partial list of the offenses I can make out. They make for some disturbing and impressive worldbuilding.
Amusing coincidence
Among my group of comics bought today, two of them stood out.
One I bought because it is thought-provoking, brilliantly written and drawn, and is overall one of my top 3 books ever. The other I bought entirely because there were hot characters in a state of undress on the cover.
The first book:
The second book:
Have I bought a Justice League ever? Nope. Do I have the faintest clue whatās happening in JL right now? Nope. Do I regret buying this? Not one whit.Ā
The fact that these books were both out today made me laugh. Buying an unabashedly feminist book about resisting the patriarchy, and then buying a book just to objectify the male Justice League characters feels appropriately non-compliant. Misandry!
RunLoveKill
So my LCS either didnāt order or was shorted on Lumberjanes this week. Which was disappointing. But I did pick up my other titles for the week, and read RunLoveKill over lunch, and now need to talk about it.Ā
This issue had one of the strongest openings Iāve ever seen. It opens on a several page long scene with no dialogue, cutting between a cellist playing to a metronome, and a woman escaping from some sort of facility. The panel choices make the whole scene incredibly cinematic and alive. I could practically hear the background music and see the cuts between the action/fight scenes and the cello performance. The art is incredibly dynamic and well-suited to the action.
Avoiding spoilers, we then cut from the click of the metronome to our actual protagonist, a woman named Rain. Within a few pages, itās well established that sheās trying to escape her authoritarian city, sheās a bit of an anti-hero, but not as callous as sheād like to think of herself. Sheās working on a deal to get out of the city, but thereās some spoilery obstacles in the way.Ā
Between the opening scene, which sets the tone of the comic beautifully and has me really curious how it connects to the main plot, and the events with Rain, RunLoveKill has set up an interesting world, and opened with a lot of questions Iām really eager to get answers to. I highly recommend checking it out!
