Well, there's already a Nanny Ogg'd version of "Last Christmas Hogswatch", so why not "Santa Baby Papa Hoggy", as well? :-)

Just remembered it was sirlochard's birthday, and made a quick drawing of him and his waifu, leucodraws (pony-sona versions).
Happy birthday, Hugsy Canucksy! What colors would you want your pony-sonas to be, anyway? Maple red, perhaps? Maybe I'll finish 'em up for leuco's birthday, which is coming up soon, too, IIRC. (Your cutie marks ended up being a calculator and a paintbrush, respectively, BTW, in case you’re wondering.)
A witch and her familiar Currently reading Wyrd Sisters.
Lovely work, as always!
Incidentally, I was checking the L-Space Wiki, to see whether Magrat actually had a familiar or not, and found a link to an account of a Roundworld witch named Elizabeth Garlick...
Happy Star Wars Day!
May the fourth be with you <3
Cool picture!
But wait... is that a twi’lek, or a togruta, or some other race? Can they even have hair? Oh well, time to go study up on SW lore.
Working on NannyOggDiscoWorldDance.gif, but since I just reached 1k followers, here's a WIP version to celebrate. Thank you so much, everyone!
Speaking of celebrations, rumor has it that Karla Cervantes is celebrating her birthday next Friday, May 6th. If you enjoy looking at really cool Discworld art, visit her Tumblr - and wish her a happy b-day, while you're there!
And now... A-one, a-two, a-one-two-three-four:
Every witch wants to be on Disco-World To ride the kind of turtle always bein' twirl'd Flyin' in the mornings, go witch go! Party on the broomstick, Scumble flow You can best believe me She's on Disco-World Glad she took you down with any drink you swirl'd Hey, hey, hey, Ogg-kay!
Disco, Disco-World I wanna be on Disco-World! Disco, Disco-World I wanna do the Disco!
In case anyone wants a cheaply made animated .gif of Great A'Tuin doing the Disco-World dance, without all the text from the original post: here you go.
(On the other hand, if you're looking for Discworld FILK versions of David Bowie songs, especially ones about Sam Vimes' thin-soled boogie booties, you should take a moment to read through the original post.)
Memento Mori, Mickey
Was reminded that Wildbow McCrae supposedly had a birthday last week, so here's a silly thing featuring Worm's Undersiders and their Ninja Turtle equivalents, to (belatedly) celebrate.
Hey, someone should send me ideas for this month’s @letsdrawdiscworld discoworld challenge. (or send them to my art tumblr which would be the one posting drawings anyway)
Some ideas:
Reg Shoe & the Fresh Start Club have gotten new jobs, working for Adora Belle Dearheart, and are constantly arguing over whether or not undead deserve more/less/exactly the same amount of rights (and payment) as golems; these disagreements eventually devolve into dance fighting (because the spirit of Disco-World is sweeping through Ankh-Morpork), where Reg and his zombie buddies sing "Bill Her!" and boogie in the streets, to the tune of Michael Jackson's "Thriller".
Mustrum Ridcully and Ponder Stibbons are shouting at each other over the noise of collapsing walls and furniture tipping over, while plaster dust rains down from the ceiling of the trembling Unseen University.
MR: STIBBO-O-ONS! What the deuce is going on, man?! Is it some kind of Disc-quake? PS: Um, according to Hex, it's more of a... Disco-quake, sir. MR: What?! Stop talking rubbish! There's no such thing as a-
Vimes inadvertently starts a new dance style, when the lead singer from a Band With Rocks In (perhaps a gender-ambiguous dwarf named Dafydur Bovissonsondottirson?) notices the way Vimes wiggles his feet on the cobbles, reading the street through his paper-thin soles. The dwarf gets inspired and invents a new dance move, "The Vimes", and even writes a song about it, both of which rapidly become incredibly popular:
Let's Vimes Put on your flat shoes and catch the crooks Let's Vimes To the song they're singin' in the Mended Drum
Let's Sam While Dibbler fills up his trays Let's Sam Slam through the crowd to a guilty face
If you say run, I'll run with you If you say chase, we'll chase Because my love for you Would break my heart in two If you should fall into my arms Like bacon in a sandwich
Let's Vimes For fear His Grace gets called Let's Vimes For fear Ankh-Morpork stalls
Let's Sam You could just arrest some guys Let's Sam Under the moonlight This octarine moonlight
One of my old posts about the French translations of the Discworld novels recently gained a lot of renewed attention. It's been a pleasure to read all the positive comments that people have been making, praising the quality of the French versions of Sir Pterry's books. Apparently, the bloke responsible for translating the Discworld novels in France, Patrick Couton, has done a literally award-winning job of making the stories from the back of Great A'Tuin accessible to the French readers - he's received the Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire for his efforts.
Above, you'll find another example (this time featuring a certain Blackboard Monitor, in a scene from Guards! Guards!, or Au Guet!) of how Monsieur Couton manages to insert layers and layers of references into the French version of the Discworld, inventing new puns in French when the original English ones wouldn't work in translation.
Also, if you happen to know a great example of a really well-translated pune or play on words, or want to point out another country's translator that you think is doing a good job at interpreting the Discworld for a non-English-speaking audience, please share it with the rest of us!
Artwork by Claire Keane, former Disney animator on a project to make a movie of Terry Pratchett’s superb Discworld novel ‘Mort’. What could have been! Pixar this ain’t. See more: http://www.claireonacloud.com/misc-development/
Very nice! Also, Claire Keane has a Tumblr at claireonacloud.
On a more nit-pickery note, if this was based on Mort, it would most likely be Princess Keli on the left, and Ysabell with the disgruntled expression at the bottom. Fairly certain that Ysabell was never described as having the same characteristic white-with-a-black-stripe inverted-skunk hair style as her daughter, Susan. Other than that, that’s a really good representation of her.
(In fact, if you look up the file name for that picture on Keane’s website, it’s called death+keli+mort+and+ysabel.jpg - there are other drawings of Ysabel on Claire Keane’s site, and they all show her having white or silver hair, the way she was described in the book.)
From “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, adapted by @rasmus-edling for the Graphic Shakespeare Competition, Elsinore Conference 2016.
This is my tribute to the great and wonderful Sir Terry Pratchett, who passed away on the 12th of March last year.
GNU Sir Pterry.
Happy 18th birthday, blackboardmonitor, you precious amazing perfect adorable son-of-a-wossname!
Since this is the DiscNey month, here's a selection of lots of different DiscNey characters, who all turned up to wish you a happy birthday.
Some people just don’t photograph iconograph well. Otto is one of them. It gives his daughter a bad sunburn.
Otto’s gotten better at not cursing upon discorporation in front of her, tho.
In response to thaumivore’s ot3 post here :)
A couple of suggestions for upcoming new series from the One Shot Podcast audio empire. James D’Amato already works for a travel agent IRL, so he should have plenty of applicable experience for the latter idea, and the first idea could even get a spin-off sequel: You Say D’A-mah-to, I Say D’A-may-to.
Another quote from the Party Roll podcast.
