I’m 30 years old, I’ve been a fan my whole life, I watch indies, i watch Japan....the matches these two have are everything, EVERYTHING I love about pro wrestling. Raw emotion, story, psychology, big high spots, spots that look like they legit hurt like hell, awesome chain wrestling, inventive moves and reversals. They are on par with the best of the best. I’m having trouble deciding between their Brooklyn match, tonights match, and Nakamura/Ibushi for match of the year. That’s how good they are.

Let’s all just acknowledge for a minute that this was probably the WWE Match of the Year. Not the womens or “Divas” match of the year, but the overall best match the company has put on this year. It’s at least a contender, i can only think of a handful of matches that come close - and none had the story this one had. It’s such a great thing to see.actual capable female wrestlers making 15,000 people in the live audience lose their shit and even some people get brought to tears - and to see people saying things like “that was a great match and should have closed the show”, not specifying that it was great “for a women’s match” but that it just was a great match.

The NXT audience has gotten such quality from the women’s matches this year that they regard the division as valid as the men, they’re treated as main events, and that’s never happened in WWE before. It’s an incredible time to be a fan, and I really hope WWE can ride this wave and re-educate their casual Raw audience to treat women’s wrestling seriously and not as a piss break. It’s really going to be a challenge when half their main roster is full of models with little skill who’ve been on the payroll for years, but theres no better time than now for a complete overhaul. It needs to be done. They just have too much talent right now to let it go to waste

True fact:  the current roster of rookie women's wrestlers on NXT - some of which have been in the business less than 2 years - are consistently putting on better matches every single week than basically the entire main Divas roster and half the people involved in the Survivor Series main event angle. Seriously, this 3 minute match alone was more entertaining than anything I've ever seen from Kane, Big Show, Ryback, and Mark Henry in their entire careers.

yall this is like a 20min match BUT OH SO FUCKING GOOD, easily the match of the night, and even if you’re not a wrestling fan i would abso-fucking-lutely recommend watching it, its that good.

I really encourage non-wrestling fans to check this match out as well. We live in an age where there is so much support for women breaking down barriers in industries where they might have been on top in previous times— wrestling is one of those industries. Women’s wrestling has always been undervalued, overlooked, and— at times— treated like a sideshow. But because of mediums like NXT and women like Charlotte Flair and Natalya, they are carving a new path for both women in the entertainment industry and women in the world as well.

Seriously, the fact that WWE allowed these two the opportunity to go for 20 minutes live not only pleasantly surprised me, but they arguably stole the show over two amazing men's singles matches. This is a great time to be a fan. NXT specials are worth the price of the network. Fuck the PPVs, this is what I want each month.

I am so sick of wrestling fans.

Now I hate to generalize like that because some of the best people in the world are wrestling fans - some of my best friends are wrestling fans - some of the smartest people I know are wrestling fans.

But this shit is getting to be insufferable. I am so sick of nose-in-the-air, “know it all” fans who think they’re too cool for school. Know it all is in quotation marks because, of course, they don’t know shit.

I’m of course talking about the types who think they’re doing us all a favour by chanting CM Punk at shows, as though it will have any effect on him coming back. The type too stubborn to realize that CM Punk bailed on them. He wasn’t taken from them; he bailed on them. He chose to leave, and they don’t know how to deal.

The guy who wrote this thinks he’s God’s gift to wrestling fans, and after all his douchebaggery at the show (“As I had my back turned I held up my Rousey sign that said, Ronda Rousey Would Make Super Cena Tap Out And Bleed”) he complains about being kicked out and robbed of the money he paid to get in.

"I said so you’re telling me i wasted $111 on a ticket and I’m cant watch 2 hours of the show."

Guess what asshole? You PAID that money and then made the CONSCIOUS DECISION to DELIBERATELY rile up the performers and organisation who essentially owned the venue on that night. You got what you fucking deserve.

Wrestling fans need to get a grip on reality and ditch their sense of entitlement.

Dude those signs are fantastic. Do you think WCW fans didn't go to WWE shows in the late 90s and hold up signs, or vice versa? Do Red Sox fans who happen to live in New York just go to to Yankee Stadium and cheer the Yankees?

No one's naive enough to think chanting for CM Punk is going to bring him back. That's not the intention. It's also not a case of "not knowing how to deal" or thinking Punk was taken away from us. The intention is and always has been to support our "team"...whoever that may be at the time, usually the great talent WWE snatches up from the indies....and to heckle the "rival team" - which is usually WWE homegrown guys who are pushed for their look, size, or last name rather than their abilities

WWE's main problem is this idea they have of everyone being a fan of WWE the Brand...when more and more people are now just becoming fans of professional wrestling in general.

Look at NXT Arrival and how great of a show that was. Simple formula. Present matches seriously, act like they mean something, tell the stories in the ring and have commentators call the fucking matches. Everything they did tonight was precisely how you book and present pro wrestling, everyone on that show came out of it looking better, and there were no "CM Punk!" chants or "Boring" chants...it was just fans who were satisfied with what was in front of them and given no reason to rebel.

It's not the fans who need to get a grip on reality, it's the WWE. People won't feel a need to go against the machine if the machine doesn't give them a reason to.
