Cottagecore: Book by Sarah Nolan
āDreamy Picnicā by Mya
you are not a machine. you are more like a garden. you need different things on different days. a little sun today, a little less water tomorrow. you have fallow and fruitful seasons. it is not a design flaw. it is wiser than perpetual sameness. what does your garden need today?
you do not have to live your life by some imaginary deadline. yes, there are things you have to do (i.e. for financial stability, etc.), but let everything else just fall into place in its own time. it will all work out in ways you cannot even imagine right now.
Relationships and also school have been tough lately so Iām putting on my flounciest, pinkest, most princessy pyjamas, making tea, and watching sitcoms in bed all evening.
Today I sat at my friends kitchen table at breakfast and she made us french press coffee in pretty glass cups, we talked about nothing and we all laughed out loud because two love birds flew inside and made a racket, I poured myself another cup while she made the eggs and i noticed she kept a fresh carton of almond milk. I think it's going to be okay.
My life is going to be filled with fresh bread, bowls of soup and flowers on the windowsill.
small things we should appreciate more
the chirping of birds in the early morning
the way the sun shines through the trees
nature after it just rained
constantly learning new things every day
libraries, bookshops, bakeries and coffeeshops
Daily reminder that beyond all the awful things there are in the world there are so many good things. So many beautiful things. So many amazing things. We just have to take the time to stop and notice. To look beyond the terrible things that go on in the world and look for the good in the world. It doesnāt mean you have to ignore the bad completely. But sometimes itās ok to focus on the good things instead ā¤ļø
I think we need to hear kind things more often. I think they should drip off the tongue freely. kindness is not a finite resource. I think all of us understand the importance of saying āI love youā, but we should also be more free with hugs. With smiles, With saying āIām proud of you,ā or āyou did a good job.ā Thank you. Iām grateful for everything you do. I am blessed to have you in my life. These are not things we should be saving to say at funerals. We should be saying it while people are still here. Let people know you care about them. Smile. Be kind. The world isnāt always kind, and thatās why itās our job to change it.
The steam wafting up from a mug of hot tea, freshly made. Showstopping. Bewitching. Incredible.
