the type that i am referring to is stuff that i feel is utterly hollow in its optimism and is essentially feel-good wholesome chungus commercial conservatism. they feel like shallow emotional pacifiers that r worshipped en masse and r framed like how the tweet above does it. they do not inspire the desire for action and change in me or make me think deeper about anything. i think a truly #hopepilled work would acknowledge and grapple reality properly and demand collective change and not deny its possibility. most of these works that r heralded as hopecore avoid that confrontation and ring empty
