    The vampire turned and eyed up the other, his gaze narrowing at the phrasing the blonde had chosen to use. 

    “I never asked you to. Nor did I ever expect it. I feel as though your affections towards Claire will never match what you believe you feel towards me. And the sooner you accept that the better off we will both be. You know this as well as I.” Sirius had not wanted to say these things but he knew it was what was best for them both. He could never be worthy of Claire as he was now, and he could never come between Noel and her either. 

    So long ago Sirius had come to terms that it was more likely for him to be alone instead of coupled with anyone at all. And the lavender accepted this harsh reality, as painful as it was.

    Sirius studied his heart rate and actions carefully as he eyed the other over, clicking his claws together briefly as he gave a dismissive wave.

   “Unfortunately, Ashe, I’ll have to decline your affections. My sights are set on someone and I simply do not believe that we are remotely compatible.” Sirius looked over his claws as he stated this as if the mere notion was simply business as usual.

   Sirius had been resting soundly or atleast he had seemed that way. He was not the type to shift or toss in his slumber. 

   The doorknob to his room had shuttered for a moment before shifting and turning. A tall slender male figure had slipped into the others room, and had taken care not to tread on any old floor boards. 

   Though Sirius, being the light sleeper that he was, slowly opened his eyes to peer at the figure in question. 

   “And what the devil do you believe you’re doing in my chambers at this hour?” His eyes were still adjusting as he placed the back of his hand close to his lips to yawn. 

   The Lavender had yet to have a full nights rest and this was due to his reluctance to turn in early for his evenings. Since he would rather work through the night instead of rest. 

    All for the legacy of Lady Dorothy. Such a struggle was necessary if it was in her namesake.
