Growing up in Hong Kong, I found all my music from scouring YouTube (early days music channels) then moved onto Soundcloud.  I felt like I was in a bubble because people I knew didn't listen to any of that stuff and these artists would never play in Hong Kong.   In college in Boston I started slowly meeting these people--photographing them and interviewing them via emails because I was still shy then.  Slowly this progressed into doing recorded interviews in person because I wasn't able to really get the answers I was looking for and getting to know them more.  But it still didn't feel right and to take artists so animated and interesting and just transcribe it into paper didn't feel like I did them justice.   After graduating and moving back to Hong Kong I started thinking about video content but a lot of video interviews felt so uncomfortable to me like sitting on a couch or standing with a mic.  Finally I came up with the idea of Sidewalk Talk and in the last year or so I became more confident and decided to move to LA in August 2017 to do this passion project on a bigger scale <3

Today we have Mountenz, two talented brothers based in California.  Few days ago they shared me a song near and dear to their hearts about the passing of their dad.  As a person obsessed with visuals, I’m obsessed with the video’s coloring and shots.

“As you can imagine, losing a father is something that no one or nothing can prepare you for. Since we’ve been doing music for such a long time, it felt natural to mourn his death through writing. Our dad spent his whole life talking about us, supporting us, working for us, and all we wanted to do was honor him and his incredible life through our music. “Been Too Long” came from the place of feeling like even one day without him was one day too long without feeling his love. It’s honest, real, but also relatable to anyone who’s lost a person important to them. “Been Too Long”, and actually the album as a whole, is our way of mourning and yet remembering all at once.”

Also, Have you made a video about how you've been able to meet and talk to artist and get into events? If not, then maybe it could be a future video? :D

yesss that would be goals!  im already trying to set up two of the people on your list :D no i havent yet but i am thinking of doing it and also how i prepare for interviews and camera setup
