if you can’t fix it you’ve got to stand it being the last line of the brokeback mountain novella is so crazy it makes me feel like my guts are falling out. if you can’t fix it you’ve got to stand it. jesus fucking christ
god. god
Watson is such a fun flavour of unreliable narrator. Narrator who just lies, and tells you he's lying, and what he's lying about. Narrator who publishes conversations with his protagonist about the inaccuracy of his writing. Narrator who's been used to prop up conspiracies without his knowledge. Narrator who is semi-regularly lied to by the subject of his stories. Narrator who is, at best, half-assing his government issued NDA.
The one unifying factor of all Sherlock Holmes adaptations is that absolutely no one has read his monograph on cigars and cigar ash

Makes my heart melt every time <3
Good God, what was that?
guys help they actually make me sick
This man is so silly
Holmes: Anything you have to say to me, you can say in front of Watson
Watson: 👍🏻
Holmes: Watson, it makes me nervous to bring you on this dangerous adventure, but I know you well enough to know you’d never let me go alone
Watson: 👍🏻
Holmes: Watson, do you want to go to a concert with me? And then maybe a nice walk and a night cap?
Watson: 👍🏻
Holmes: If this guy had killed you, I would have straight-up murdered him in cold blood
Watson: oh my god he loves me
so unreliably narrated bestie
I think the best part abt Howard Holmes is that Holmes is just straight up no thoughts, head ENTIRELY empty. yes he can solve a case but can he actually think? no, not even a little
homage to one of my favourite books ever
Watsons internal monologue: oh my god please let me come please let me come with you oh my god Sherlock it’s so boring here without you Sherlock please let me travel with you I love you so much oh my god
Sherlocks internal monologue: I gotta act nonchalant but like I really want him to come with me I wouldn’t be telling him this if I didn’t want him to come but I gotta act mysterious but I really want Watson with me…
The thing is, you read the stories written by Dr Watson and you think “this is the most down bad a narrator has ever been” and then you get to the stories written by Sherlock Holmes from his perspective and he’s somehow worse.
