Nuala 🌺
Headcanons:
Loves to cook and bake, especially when she can experiment in the kitchen
Taught herself the language of flowers and spends her downtime creating lavish floral arrangements
Hates spending time in the forest, due to her distaste for bugs
She is the more chaotic twin and always has some kind of scheme brewing
Enjoys going to Rita’s and has a healthy string of lovers
Prefers to use poison versus physical combat when necessary
Cerridwen 🪻
Headcanons:
She appreciates fine jewelry and has a growing collection of perfumes from across Prythian and the Continent
Prides herself on being the more fashion forward sister and designs most of the outfits and styling for the Inner Circle
Proficient with daggers, can hit a moving target from 10 meters consistently
More soft spoken and reserved than her twin
Has curly hair and loves trying new ways to style it
She is older than Nuala by three minutes but lets her sister believe otherwise
Day 6: Cerridwen
Day 5: Nuala Day
Day 4: Handmaiden Day-
Nuala and Cerridwen are our Night Court Barbies. They’re working all the jobs and making it look easy.
"Wraiths are nothing but shadow and mist." A Court of Wings and Ruin
2026 Nuala & Cerridwen week
Elain stood between Nuala and Cerridwen at the long worktable. All three of them covered in flour. Some sort of doughy mess on the surface before them.
The two handmaiden-spies instantly bowed to Rhys, and Elain—
There was a slight sparkle in her brown eyes.
As if she’d been enjoying herself with them.
Nuala swallowed hard. “The lady said she was hungry, so we went to make her something. But—she said she wanted to learn how, so …” Hands wreathed in shadows lifted in a helpless gesture, flour drifting off them like veils of snow. “We’re making bread.”
Elain was glancing between all of us, and as her eyes began to shutter, I gave her a broad smile and said, “I hope it’ll be done soon—I’m starved.”
Elain offered a faint smile in return and nodded.
She was hungry. She was … doing something. Learning something.

NUALA
In Celtic mythology, Nuala is the name of a fairy queen who embodies grace and enchantment. This association with the fairy queen adds an ethereal quality to the name. It evokes a sense of magic and wonder, reflecting the belief in ancient folklore and the enduring ties between the natural and supernatural realms.
The etymology of Nuala can be traced back to the Old Irish name “Fionnghuala,” which combines “fionn,” meaning “fair” or “white,” and “guala,” meaning “shoulder.”
In modern Irish storytelling, Nuala means “born of the sea”.
There is something so deeply atmospheric and foreboding about reading Edna St. Vincent Millay’s “Wraith.” It reminds me of how Nuala and Cerridwen move. How they might operate as spies who haunt their targets. Slipping from their corporal forms to shadows so they can listen, to observe unseen.
"Leaning on the wind" makes me think of Azriel and their tie to him
"And the garden showing through," their relationship with Elain and her being a source of life and them being vessels of death. Life and death coming together in harmony.
