I feel like one of the new buzzwords with the woke black fems is #shadowwork. (Not sure which hedge witch is out here teaching the uninitiated these terms but here we are just throwing them around) In particular when speaking of the movie #US and the tethers. But I just wanna say this….when men do shadow work you call em toxic. In fact, when men suffer from #anxiety, #depression, and grief you call them toxic as well while romanticizing your own mental disorders. The term “anxiety” is thrown around now as chic, trendy, and ugly beautiful, but there’s nothing chic or ugly beautiful about it. And fighting it is even uglier. Fighting it while black is even uglier. And fighting it while being a black male is a #horror story. Sure women will sympathize if they’re getting sex out of it, but if the relationship is platonic there will be no sympathy or think pieces that unpack the nuances past all the “black men are you ok” clickbait articles on the clickbait chitlin platforms that mash as many sociological terms into a soulless vanity piece. It’s all so insincere, shallow, and callous.
