Jook Joint #1 (2018) // Imagine Comics
TEE FRANKLIN (BINGO LOVE) and ALITHA E. MARTINEZ (Black Panther: World of Wakanda) team up for a timely horror series from the Deep South! Mahalia runs the hottest spot in all of 1950s New Orleans. The Jook Joint keeps the jazz popping, people bopping… and the women? The women are to die for. There’s only one rule: “Keep your hands to yourself.” But some men think rules don’t apply to them, and Mahalia and her coven of slain women enjoy reminding them that they most certainly do.
Story: Alitha E. Martinez, art: Tee Franklin

Bought this book when it was released, it was supposed to be a 5-issue mini. It was canceled after issue 2. 🤬

Also posted closeups on IG.
Let us NEVER forget, Alex was a Hottie and only believed in Real Hot Girl Shit. Not whatever white nonsense this loser is talking about.
Thank you for the 35 years of Jeopardy, and thank you for all you did to make the world a brighter place 💙
This issue of Uncanny X-Men takes place in a flashback, as Dazzler’s old friends, bounty hunter O. Z. Chase and his moonshine guzzling pup Cerberus who we saw briefly during Secret Wars II, get in over their heads with the Russian mob. It’s not what I was expecting from the first issue post Fall of the Mutants, but it does a good job of showing how the world is dealing with the loss of the X-Men.
According to the Marvel wiki, this is the last time we see O. Z. Chase. Geez I wonder what happened to him!! Is he still looking for Allison at the bottom of a bottle in some muggy Miami bog bar, threatening to murder anyone who speaks ill of her??? Did anyone bother to tell him she’s still alive?? (Uncanny X-Men #228 – Apr 1988)
Reading this scene as a kid made me so sad. Even though WE knew the X-Men were fine, their loved ones didn't, and I knew O.Z. from Ali's solo title. I felt so bad for him and Cerberus. It would be great to see them again.
