Everyone in their home was starting to get situated now that there were about thirty-or-so seconds to go. His children had taken Birdie and gathered on the floor closest to the television. Some of the guests (like Bryan and Brianna among others) had found a comfortable place to sit. Allen, with his arm wrapped around Nicole’s body to hold her close, had made sure to grab a comfortable place on the couch with his feet propped up. Some of the people, mostly the kids, began to count down with the people on the television. Allen wasn’t one of them. He was one of the few who stayed quiet.　5 … 4 … 3 …　Allen then turned his head. “Hey,” he said beneath his breath to quickly gather her attention.　2 … 1 …　“Happy New Year,” he said as the clock hit midnight and the new year was brought in. Everyone had said it allowed but he was only talking to her with his. The male then leaned in and he captured her lips in a kiss just like some of the other couples in the room were doing with their significant others.

Gionna smiled and pulled away for a moment when she noticed they had stopped moving. “Definitely much better than our first kiss although that one had its own sort of magic to it”. She could get used to having his hand on her waist but she also knew that she should should just enjoy the moment. She stepped out of the car and turned to him “ to be honest have no idea what to plan at the moment… her eyes had landed on the hot tub but it was too cold and getting pneumonia was not a good idea

Allen made sure to tip the driver as they were leaving with some cash that he had in his pocket. Something a little nicer given what day it was and how stressful things probably were this time of year. The male turned back to Gionna once the Uber driver was gone and smirked at how. “How ‘bout you take us somewhere private and quiet so that we can kiss a little more?”  he suggested since that was pretty much the only thing on his mind right about now because of her.

Discomfort seemed to wash across Pam’s face almost instantaneously. How was that any of Allen’s business what she did with Rami? She cleared her throat and averted her brown eyes away from him, almost not wanting to even answer such a question.

“What are you doing, Allen?” the question came out almost more of a whispered plea than an honest-to-god question.

Her eyes flickered back over to him, another exhale leaving her lips. “Do you really want to know?”

You can almost tell Allen regretted asking that the second the last word had fallen from his lips. He sounded so desperate at that point. At least that’s what this felt like. Was he supposed to say that he couldn’t help himself? That seeing her maybe giving someone else a chance and not even bat an eye at him was bothersome beyond belief? Because there wasn’t a good reason for him to try and intrude on business that only concerned her no matter how he tried to word it in his head. “No,” he said with a shake of his head. Allen couldn’t even look at her. “Ain’t any of my business to know.”

Bold might as well have been Adrienne’s middle name. Almost everything she did relied on being bold. And going into the New Year would be nothing different.

Standing right here with Allen, counting down the seconds until midnight would be no different either.

She reached up for Allen’s collar, almost as if she was going to smooth it out, before yanking him by the collar down to her level, her lips capturing his own in an instant. She didn’t have to say anything; her actions were enough. She finally drew away and smirked up at the older man.

“There’s my 2019 pick-me-up.”

If that wasn’t a PHENOMENAL way to bring in the New Year then Allen wasn’t quite sure what to tell you. He was expecting a kiss as the ball dropped since it was tradition but that kiss? It had almost left the Southerner without anything to say. Speechless which was rare since he normally always had some crappy almost dad-like joke up his sleeve waiting to be used. “Is it safe to say I think it’s gonna go downhill from here?’ he questioned with a dumb smile still present on his face. “’cause that was... wow.”

Before she went made herself comfortable against him “ body heat” she said innocently but her eyes didn’t even bother to hide the mischievousness that she had planned. Gionna looked at him again “ convinced there is “ she teased playfully bringing her lips to his again

Normally, Allen didn’t see him as the type to kiss someone like this in the back of an Uber... but oh well. Allen allowed their lips to stay together and he tenderly kissed the female. His eyes shut to further embrace the lip lock. His hand rested on her waist. This kiss was already noticeably better than the one the two of them shared when the ball dropped on New Years.

She had to admit that she liked having his hand in hers. Once in the Uber she texted the girls to let them know that she had left and if they could please bring her back her jacket. Gionna looked at him with a playful grin “ I do think there’s a hint of a bad boy in you deep inside there”. Truth be told she had no idea where they would end up tonight but if anyone had told her that he would have kissed her she would have said they were lying and crazy.

Allen shook his head upon her remark... but dammit, he couldn’t help but smirk ever-so-slightly because of her. “I dunno ‘bout all that,” he said as he brought his arm around her and held her a little closer to him. Then the Uber driver spoke up, asked where they wanted to go, and that’s where Allen went blank. He stared at him for a quick second and then the driver. His next set of words were whispered slightly to her. “Any ideas? Back to your place or do you know of anywhere private?”

“Works for me. Already wasting so much time doin’ nothing out here,” he said. Not even wasting time, Allen took Gionna by the hand and began to walk to the side of the house. The gate was opened for them and then closed behind them. Not too far away, he saw the Uber which was waiting for them. Upon getting to the car, he held the door open for her before entering the uber second to her.

Honestly she wasn’t that much of a bad girl when it came to relationships she wasn’t the heart breaker that many thought. She looked over at him “yes definitely think that I am going to take you on adventure tonight” she said taking out her phone and ordering an Uber “ I gotta get my jacket if they see us leave together we did an Uber Pool but I think none of them will remember this night to be honest”

“Should’a grabbed that before we snuck outta here. Ain’t thinking ahead now, are we?” Allen was teasing Gionna now. A deep breath was taken in as he glanced back to the home. “Fine. Let’s get this over with. Nice and quick. Don’t wanna attract too much attention. Not everyone in there is drunk as hell,” he said as he approached the home again. No clue what the jacket even looked like, Allen figured letting her lead would be best.
