Once wary of any human touch, always wary of any human touch. While it’s been near-ages since a banana peel was a lethal weapon to Hitagi, it was still hard to not wince at any near contact. Possibly not only because it could blow her away. Maybe because it simply meant anyone was just too close.
Anyway. Moreover. Besides the point.
Hitagi had been touched, rather forcefully and accidentally, by a stranger.
"Public drunkenness is looked down upon, especially in the daytime." Her eyes were narrowed as she spoke, her expression mirroring tenfold a judge in high court. She was surprisingly nice about the situation even if it didn’t seem like it. The man clearly wasn’t drunk, and she had reason enough to actually be mad.
Take your blessings and run, sir.
"If you can’t stop stumbling, call a cab. Or cut off your feet. No one can get mad at you as long as you don’t leave a mess they have to step over."
Drunkenness? The mute was far from being drunk, in fact he didn't even really like alcohol. He had grown a large distaste for the beverage, but he couldn't really voice an argue. For obvious reasons. It would probably make his situation way more easier if he could voice his argue. For now though, it'd have to be pen and paper. After grabbing out his memo pad he quickly wrote on it, and then tore the page off and then held it up.
' I am not drunk. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, my attention was elsewhere. My sincere apologies miss. '
Sure the man himself didn't particularly enjoy having people bump into him either, but sometimes it was just a simple accident. Never would he act...in this sort of manner. He couldn't tell if she was just being strict about the situation or just plan out angry. Either way, he didn't want to do anything more to upset the young woman. Last thing he wanted to do was make people mad at him.
Surely though she could let by gones be by gones? The chance of them ever having this sort of encounter was closet to zero. It wasn't like it was ever going to happen again. Though some people just never did like situations like these and tended to act in a angry way. Probably best to just say his good byes and be off. These sort of people...the man didn't really like to try and converse with anyway.
Last time he talked with a person with an attitude such as this it was him being bullied. Suga didn't really take kindly to attitude such as this. Definitely best to just try and say sorry again, say bye, and then be off. That was a good definite plan. So quickly he wrote yet again on his memo pad, ripped off the piece of paper, and held it up.
' Once again I am sorry. Farewell then I suppose. '
Lord have mercy on his soul please.
☆ ; ━ Helpful Intervention
It had been a while since Suga got the joys of relaxing at a coffee shop. He was surprised a city like this even had one of the sorts. Sure he usually drank tea most of the time, but coffee was alright too. Plus coffee shops were usually pretty quiet and he could read a book in peace as well. Which he was also surprised this city had a book store as well as a library. At least he wouldn't be entirely bored then in this ' life ' given to him here. Didn't mean he still wouldn't look for a way to get out of this place.
What drew him away from his reading and coffee was the fact there was some commotion going on at the front. Apparently someone did not have enough to pay for whatever they wanted? How unfortunate. Though when you first come here they really didn't give you much money sadly. It was either get a job or go around scrounging up whatever you could get. Suga had been searching for a job, but nothing had really perked his interest yet. He had been a manager and the security of a museum all this time, he didn't know what else to really do.
Slowly the mute got out of his seat and quietly walked up to the front where the customer and employee were having their argument. Apparently the customer didn't have enough money to pay up, but that was fine. Suga silently took out his wallet and pulled out whatever was left needed to pay for the customer and gently placed it in between the two of them on the counter. A smile was on his face as he tucked his wallet back into his pockets. Sure he really didn't need to do such an act, but fighting over a silly thing wasn't really needed. Plus he didn't mind all too much helping out.

It was quite interesting how the man always ended up in strange situations. He didn't know how it happened half the time as well. One second he's just minding his own business, and then suddenly something happened and he's being yelled at. The mute didn't remember doing anything like bumping into them or something, or perhaps he just wasn't paying attention and he might have. It would be his luck anyway to have that happen to him.
As soon as he bowed for his apology for the hundredth time, the person finally decided to leave him alone. It was about time, it seemed like city folk were more grumpier than he could remember. Were they always this quick to being short tempered? Shaking his head and ignoring it, he shrugged it off and began walking again.
As soon as he started to walk, this time he did feel himself accidentally bumping into another person. The mute was quick to have quite the nervous and apologetic look on his face. He really was just no good living in the city was he? The mute was quick to bow in apology, really afraid that he would be yelled at yet again. Perhaps this time they would simply shrug it off...? He could only pray.
☆ ; ━ Troubles
If there was one thing that the mute always had trouble with, trying to communicate with others. Especially since when they took one look at him and thought of him some scary looking guy and were quick to end every possible bit of conversation and were running off. Honestly, the only thing Suga was going to ask was where that person got the food they had gotten. Before he could write his question they were off, poor guy was just hungry.
Suga was just ready to go and buy ingredients and just cook for himself. The last time he cooked though, everyone looked like they were forcing his food down their throats. That made him wonder ever so slightly if he was even a good cook. Of course he wouldn't take the hint the fact that the food he cooked was always burnt black and tasted like charcoal, but hey no one had ever wanted to hurt the mute's feelings about it.
He knew there was a shopping district, but he hadn't been here for very long and quite honestly he didn't know the place still very well. If he ever ended up at the shopping district it was always by a miracle and by a lot of travelling and wandering. Black hues looking over to the side he saw someone coming yet again. This time he was sure he'd get their attention, and hopefully not scare them away. This time though, he would write his question first and present the paper to them before they had a chance to run as well.
As soon as the stranger got close enough, Suga simply raised his hand in a way of telling them he wanted their attention. Then he held up the piece of paper to them slightly awkwardly as he was really hoping this time it'd go well. ' Do you happen to know where the shopping district is? ', was written on the piece of paper presented to them.
☆ ; ━ I have...nothing going on right now really and I have no drafts, so I've decided to try and kill myself once more. Like this if you want a thread. Going to cap it at three.
Polka couldn’t help but giggle at his reaction combined with what he wrote.
"But you are, if you weren’t then you care if a child got hurt trying to help, or even offer a better solution. You treated me kindly even though I told you I could use magic. Even if you don’t realize it yourself Mr.Suga, you are a very kind man."
This kid was too precise for her own good, why couldn't she be one of those kids who didn't point things out like these. Better yet, why did she have to keep talking about it. It was these kind of situations where the mute would say nothing. Then simply turn the young girl around and start ushering her back to be on her own little way. He was having no more of this embarrassing talk.

After reading his name, Polka politely bowed her head and then looked up toward his dark eyes with a small smile still on her face.
"It’s a pleasure to meet you as well Mr.Suga, I am sorry if I bugged you with my foolishness. You are a very kind person."
He was about to write out his response until she said he was a very kind person. Kind person? He didn't think he was anything of the sort. Was this embarrassment? Possibly. His nervousness was obviously showing, but nonetheless he continued to write out his response and quickly ripped off the page to show it to her. He wrote it out in a rush, but at least it was readable enough.
' There is no need to be sorry. Just be sure to take care of yourself. And I'm nothing of the sort. '

Looking at the new memo, she gave a small nod and smiled as well. Even though this guy kinda seemed a but scary at first, he definitely wasn’t a bad person she could understand that. And although she couldn’t guarantee that she won’t do something rash, since if she sees someone that could need her help she definitely wasn’t going to ignore them, but she could at least say she could try for his peace of mind.
"Okay, I will try… Oh, and is it alright if I know your name sir? Mine is Polka."
The man just gave a nod of approval toward her words. That was better than nothing at least. While tilting his head to the side, he took note of her name while giving her yet another nod.
' Suga Koutarou. Pleasure, ' was written on the new page of paper shown to her.
It was a bit of a shock for her when he patted her on the head. Usually when she says she can use magic everyone but her friends would avoid touching her completely in fear that her illness could be contagious. Perhaps this man didn’t believe in the rumors? Upon reading his latest memo, the girl looked to the side, she wasn’t sure if people would be willing to be healed by a magic user, but he did make sense.
"A-ah… You are right… I am sorry…"
A smile appeared on the man's face, which a lot of people would question if he could actually smile with how he looked like. The tearing sound of paper was heard yet again as he finished writing what he wanted and holding up the piece of paper to her.
' There's no reason to be sorry. Helping is fine, just don't do anything rash to hurt yourself. '
Reading the last line, the girl looked down slightly, she really didn’t want to create problems. But she was also determined to spend what little remained of her life to helping people, it didn’t matter if she got hurt or even killed in the process. Squeezing the handle of the torn up parasol she looked back up at the taller, and slightly intimidating, man.
"It doesn’t matter if I get hurt, I can deal with it myself… Even if I am a child sir, I am capable of taking care of myself. Plus I can use healing magic, and if that can be useful in any way then there is no way I am just staying in the back."
Ah yes, that's right he completely forgot people from other worlds keep getting dragged here. So that meant there was bound to be different kinds of people, even children. He didn't make any move to try and write anything again for a bit to communicate with her again. Instead, he gave her a couple of pats on the head and began writing yet again on his memo pad. Ripping off the paper after writing on it, he held it up for her to read again.
' If you can heal, then it really would be best to be in the back. People can bring you the wounded, and you will be able to heal them. Wouldn't that be a better tactic then rushing in ? '
☆ ; ━ New Meetings
The woman hadn’t minded revisiting the store, though the only problem was whether or not it was still open for business. Regardless, that wouldn’t be a problem. An alternative could be sought or she could simply save this for another time. She saw this incident as a withdrawal between both parties with their faults of not paying proper attention, therefore she wasn’t upset.
Enticed by the fallen items, she hadn’t recognized he was still standing in front of her until the sound of crumpled paper shuffling from his pocket was heard. Oh dear, she didn’t want him to pay for the damages! This wasn’t even a hobby she indulged herself in plenty, and yet here was a stranger that was willing to make up for the loss of it. If she had been honest with him, then she would have misguided him as being someone who had little to no heart. Alarmed, she placed her hands on the hand that held the currency, gently pushing it towards him with a shake of a head.
❝There’s no need to do that!❞ She almost exclaimed, though not wanting to frighten him she lowered her tone. Heck, she didn’t even know if he was able to hear but considering he noticed the ruckus made by the mess… Then why the notebook? Was he bound to silence for some personal reasons? Perhaps he could have just been mute is all, that was the most explainable. And to think that he was deaf… she felt guilty of being incoherent from before.
No matter, if he was able to hear then he should have some response to her scolding.

The man blinked a couple of times as he watched her reject his offer. If there was no need, how would he make up for this? Certainly it would be quite alright to give her some money, it wasn't like it'd be the end of the world. He was planning on getting a job around here anyway to get some more money for himself. Seeing how it seemed like he wasn't going to be able to leave any time soon, it was time to get a job. It wasn't like he'd be completely without money.
Though he couldn't help but flinch and then feel his size somehow shrinking as she lectured him. His head lowered a little bit as he looked at her with an apologetic look of course. He did not mean to offend her if that was why he was yelling at her. The woman did have a point though, money didn't grow on trees. This city was hard to survive in, and everyone needed any ounce of help they could get. Which meant money, the most important thing to have if you wanted to live.
Though perhaps why he was hanging his head a little lower than usual was because she gave off that mother air. An air that would make anyone tremble in their feet. Such a power any woman had, it was truly frightening. He couldn't remember the last time he felt so apologetic, since his mom was long gone. Not that it bothered him anymore, well maybe some nights it did, but this wasn't the time for such a topic.
Of course the only thing being produced was silence as he took his money then and put it back into his wallet. After putting his wallet back into his back pocket, he then pulled out his memo pad and began writing. As soon as he finished writing he ripped the page out and showed it to the young woman yet again what he wanted to speak.
' Please allow me to help in some sort of way, ' was written on the page. Sure it was a simple accident, but he wanted to make it up either way. Since he is extremely stubborn as well, there was a very unlikely chance that he'd back down from not making up for it in some way. Certainly there had to be something he could do for her. Maybe help . . carry some bags or something? Clean? Anything at all? He didn't even know this woman, cross that out, he didn't know any women really. What did women even need help with?
Hmm? That was a strange way of communicating.
"But why? If there is something I could do, even if it only helps a little, then I think I should at least try it."
' You are a child, you can easily get hurt. It would be best if you stayed in the back where you are less likely to get harmed. That way you wont create more of a problem for those around you, ' yet another piece of paper was ripped out of a memo pad to show the young girl the writing on it.
"Everyone seems so tense… I wonder if there is something I can do…"
' I wouldn't even try, ' was written on a piece of paper to the young girl.

Rin looked closely at his note, reading it aloud once more.
“Oh, you’re a bit new here too, then? That’s such a relief, meow~! We can be newbie buddies!”
The orange-haired idol didn’t care (or notice, for that matter) if her overzealousness was welcomed or not, as she now held her reluctant companion’s hands in hers, looking up at him with hopeful eyes.
"It’ll be great, meow! We can hunt for ramen places together! And if the zombies come for us, Rin will protect you! Rin’s very athletic, meow!"
She beamed, oblivious to the possible discomfort the young man might be feeling.
His eye slightly twitched as he rubbed the side of his head. This girl reminded him too much of Sakuma. Loud, noisy, nosey, and didn't get the hint when she was being annoying as well. Would it be possible if he could just walk away right now and pretend this conversation never happned? The temptation was very large, yet he couldn't find himself wanting to do it in the end as it'd be fairly rude.
The man flinched a little being startled with the sudden grab of his hand. He stared down at her with a very unease frown on his face as a silent sigh came out of him. There was nothing in this world that would make him hunt ramen, or have this girl, who probably couldn't hurt a fly, ' protect ' him from zombies. If anything, he'd probably have to protect her if someone tried to hurt her. He was not here for trouble either, so that was a definite no.
The mute just simply shook his head, as currently his other hand was occupied so he was unable to write currently. Besides zombies were dangerous, and Suga wasn't really a huge fan of hunting things down such as ramen places. The girl could look for them herself, unless she absolutely needed help then he wouldn't mind too much. As annoying as it was, the girl was young and looked as if she was in high school or somewhere around there. Girls like this were usually taken advantage of, and he wouldn't have that no matter how much she annoyed him. Being thrown in this city alone as well he was sure there was plenty of people waiting for a chance like that.
