❛ bah, i just wanted to bounce one around for a minute. that one was the closest to my reach. can’t really pick from the top of the pile from down here. ❜
madotsuki shrugged, hoisting several colourful balls into her arms and tossing them into the pen one by one. it was far easier throwing them up over the railing rather than climbing up altogether, even though she was sure that nothing would happen if she had. just more work than necessary.
❛ at least these things are durable for being so cheap. meant for kids, so they gotta hold up to rough play, right? ❜
❛ huh… maybe the others were built smaller… like, the one i pulled was bigger so it plugged up the hole more———— christ, stop me while i’m ahead. anyone overhearing that would be really grossed out. ❜
' hm. fair enough, ' i mutter, folding my arms and watching the girl move.
her own mess, taken into her own hands. resourceful enough, it seemed, with all the elegance of a clumsy child attempting to impress their parents with concentrated steps. one, two, and three - still, a stumble was between the second and third steps.
so she was not quite all there - but perhaps getting there. a rather stubborn demeanor, too.
' there is precision involved in choosing which item to... to take out from the pile, ' i reply, suddenly shoving my hands into my pockets and looking away. i swallow, and release a bit of air from between my lips. ' if it is stuck then... then it is not wise to pull it out, lest this happen. second, the smaller is... generally the better... better bet. '
' and yes. they would be a bit perplexed by your choice of words. which begs the... the question - do you think before... before you speak? '

It wasn’t often Annie got a text from an unknown number. In fact, it was abnormal for Annie to get any text unrelated to work. Warily, their hand hovers over the screen before they send in a reply.
[ recipient: unknown. ] Wise words, for a stranger. I do believe you have the wrong number, though. I’d hate to deprive the true recipient of such wisdom. – AA, Head of Sales and Management.
admittedly, my lips perk into a slight smirk as a light chuckle exudes from my throat, reading what has been returned. there is a certain elegance to the words, as though typed from someone of high class. and that signature?
why, that told volumes about their character.
SMS FROM UNKNOWN_SENDER [sent at 11:05 P.M. on 6/23/17]: ' ah, no. i have chosen the right person. annie ackerman, yes? at such a young age, too, at your position. an interesting place to be, given the family tree. i do not believe my words are in the wrong place. i believe you have taken to them heart, though perhaps, not quite in the way you expected. '
SMS FROM UNKNOWN_SENDER [sent at 11:09 P.M. on 6/23/17]: ' subconsciously, i mean. though perhaps you know that. you would not have responded if it did not pique your interest. '
( cont. from here: @strangewebs ).
my lips prick into a half-realized smile, my hands in my pockets as i lean back against a dark corner of this room. my eyes have been revealed, although my goggles rest atop my head, turned off at the moment.
his words resonate with a heartstring within this chest of mine. a thin pluck, much in the way a gentle finger would stroke the string of a guitar, a note quietly played.
' men have risen and fallen over, as you say, "being full of shit". it has always come to bite them in the rear eventually. none can escape the cruel claws of inevitably, of fate. we see it daily. '
i scratch my cheek, and look off into the distance, out the grimy window of this apartment.
' but in many regards, all organics are the same. they long for a security that they shall survive their decomposing bodies - flesh and bone is not enough, they wish to maintain consciousness, a sense of self. but the great irony is that such a thing is impossible without a quantum computer. '
i shake my head, and look down at my bare feet, one crossing the other as i lean against the wall.
' religion is nonexistent. the only truth is the cpu - computers shall outlive us all, as cockroaches shall. if human immortality is to be guaranteed, that is the way to go. '

SAD_SATAN [posted on 6/22/17]: ' an argument like that is weak without any evidence. using the phrase "because i say so" is quite outdated, don't you think? much in the way a child would scream at his parents to do something, and a parent asking why and receiving that as an answer, i am inclined not to take a thing you say seriously with this knowledge. how one can believe in anything quite like that without any concrete evidence proves only how weak the human spirit actually is - how we all long to be remembered far into our deaths, or reincarnated as something greater than ourselves. it is truly sad. SAD_SATAN [posted on 6/22/17]: ‘ hardly. facetious has a dictionary definition, which is to treat serious issues with deliberately innapropriate humor; or, alternatively, to be flippant. therefore, perhaps a quite google search would prove otherwise. and frankly, i care little for women - their minds work in ways i would rather not understand. therefore, i do not get involved with them. and additionally, sexual attraction is far beyond me. it distracts from my work, my own thoughts. those i would rather keep close to heart than another human being. they are all so self-destructive - which clearly, you are unknowingly on the path of. ‘

i had heard of this woman.
photos of her posing as many women often did were plastered all about the city, a reminder that there were some in this world far more accomplished than many organics would ever be. perhaps it was that she was granted some sort of physical advantage over others. perhaps it was knowledge about how to maintain a figure that others simply did not wish to do.
or maybe it was just pure luck.
that happened often in the organic world.
some people merely had it made from day one.
others had to work their fingernails to the bone, blood seeping from their coarse and bumpy nailbeds as they clawed out of the muck and the mire, just to reach the next rung on the social ladder.
perhaps this woman was somewhere in between. but either way.
either way. ambition shall hold lock and key to no man nor woman - she held a rather unique position - being both a participant in society and an outcast, acting as a lieutenant on the crime syndicate known as the saints. a fascinating occupation. and yet...
what could i find? her computer lay in my hands - or at least, access to it, as much of these syndicates could very easily be tracked. while indeed their cybersecurity was rather tight, it was not a rather huge issue to crack it - taking candy from a sleeping dog, in other words - for a baby would howl and scream with their hand tightly wrapped around it.
and so i begin my attack - a piece of malware has already been written. and through the deep web, it has already been implanted onto her computer by a mole of mine working amongst their ranks. it was not so difficult, after all - however, whether they held ill will or not towards her was beyond the question.
she was respected there, after all. she commanded it, no doubt. someone of her ranks, her status... it was an invitation for doom to be discovered as a traitor, from my point of view.
whether he was dead or not was not of any concern to me. not then, not now.
the release of the malware was at my fingertips, ready to be detonated once the log-in password was entered into the computer.
a simple phrase.
' shaundi? shaundi? are you there, shaundi? oh please, won't you answer? y/n? '
no variation. no repetition.
but the code had assured that it would appear all over the screen. along with two glowing green eyes as the desktop.
no answer.
only questions, undoubtedly.

the leader of a crime syndicate. one that, for the most part, held quite a monopoly over the world's largest criminal exports, including but not limited to heists, arms sales - a laundry list of accomplishments that their boss, a rather secretive man despite his boisterous personality, held across his sleeve like a badge of honor.
shiny, golden - glimmering in the sun as anything polished daily would do. this was what his gang inevitably was to him.
and so.
here i am.
watching him and his group rather closely. through every monitor possible in this building - mostly, a network of security cameras that rotate back and forth at a steady pace. i do not control them - it is necessary to give the officer there, whomever that might be, the illusion of complete autonomy over the operation. and whether or not that was this boss, well...
that was to be determined.
however. i knew the ip address of the computer the boss was using; better yet, i had access to something especially important - a design. a personality. the inklings of something rather interesting.
revolution.
and so, my fingers placed on the keyboard, i open up a program with all the necessary information attached, and begin to enter a row of code. an executable that, when interacted with by the opposite party, would read like an important message from the computer's os.
simple, clean - no issues whatsoever. within the box i type:
' boss of the saints, your entire operation has been compromised. how, i cannot say. do you wish to have access to your system again? y/n. '
i curl my fingers in and out, and press enter on the keyboard. the program is done, and i begin to relay it onto the boss's computer, making sure to provide a glitching screen in the background as i do so.
i lean back, fold my arms, and watch the screen intently.
now, i wait.
"I’m exhausted with this world."
WHAT’S YOUR ASK? - SENTENCE PROMPTS:
i stare at her, my eyes likely downcast in lieu of an individual filled with perhaps just as much disgust towards the world as i. however, is it fair to call it disgust, or mere distaste? i hold not a grudge for what it is, but rather for the indignance that comes with doing little to stop it from being the way it is.
’ which world? the organic or inorganic? there is a difference, you know. much in the way that we live our lives with complacency in the organic world, so too do we live with great decadence in the inorganic one. there, you are free. ’
’ do you understand? ’
and of course, every word i am saying is a curt expression of something long gone - a difficulty to come to terms with my own life, which becomes even more frustrating and impossible by the day.
hence, the hallucinations. the alternate realities.
i can sympathize.

People people are all just people, right? When it gets down to it, everyone’s the same.
I have to be crazy because that didn’t just happen, right?
I’m exhausted with this world.
I want you to be where you belong, here with me.
They’re following me and they’re probably following you too.
I really don’t want to talk about this right now.
I’m okay with it being awkward between us.
Look in the mirror. See that badass bitch? That’s the only person you should ever worry about.
Think about it. If you died, would anyone care? Would they really care? Yeah, maybe they’d cry for a day, but let’s be honest. No one would give a shit.
I don’t know what your grand plan is, but I need to, and you’re going to tell me.
Don’t stay mad at him too long, kiddo.
Look at me. Look at this person who loves you so much he would die a happy man right now just ‘cause he had this.
I think this is a perfect fucking volume!
Please, you don’t have to be angry at yourself any more.
Trust me, I need you now more than ever.
Can I kiss you?
I’m gonna have to let him hug me, aren’t I?
I mean, you say it all the time yourself, there’s casualties in every revolution.
Do you want to get high and watch your favorite movie?
We need to clean up and get the hell out of here.

❛ i-i know it’s my fault, but———— ❜
madotsuki let out a slow whine, having been knocked over by the flood.
❛ i wonder how that even happened… oh well. i’ll be a pro at basketball by the time i get all of these back in the cage thing. ❜
she snickered softly, doing her best to mask the mass-embarrassment she felt as she took notice of store workers and lurkers all staring at her amidst the mess.
❛ u-uh, sorry… you didn’t get hit by any, did you? ❜
an odd question, though one must admit that in the midst of all this chaos, it was truly strange that she did not find anything bizarre by it.
a grown girl in a store like this, covered in children's toys would be enough to raise the eyebrows of many who saw her. such was the reality of an organic society such as this. and could one blame me for thinking so?
perhaps not, although - my opinion of the situation differs from that of expectation.
i simply do not care. she has taken responsibility for it, in some fashion. so what is there to judge in someone such as this?
' no, i merely watched the calamity as... as it happened. perhaps you ought to be more careful next time, lest you... you bang your head on the floor, or something similar. and places like this... they can get a bit... a bit testy with how you treat the merchandise. '
all this, and i have done nothing to help her. however, this was her doing - and therefore her work to make right again.
' ...what in the world were... were you trying to accomplish? surely you must have known this was going to blow up in your... your face. '
shallowrot:

❛ h-hyAAH—————— ❜
suddenly, in the middle of the retail shop, there was an avalanche of toy balls from the kid’s aisle. all madotsuki wanted was to bounce one around for a moment, though the one she plucked from the bunch let loose the mountain which engulfed her.
❛ WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED… ❜
a thud. a rather calamitous one too. and from a place only frequented by children in this store.
my head darts towards the direction of the noise, and the rather obnoxious shout, as i watch the person - a girl with two pigtails - emerge from the wreck of balls.
how unsightly.
ah. it seems she had dug her own grave.
' that is... is your fault, if i am so inclined to say. perhaps... do not select the, the one most likely to topple the entire pile. '
Given what has happened and the people who have been hurt in the process, I would like to say that this blog is a safe space for all people of colour. There is a zero tolerance policy for bigotry and racism on this blog, and I hope my followers provide that same safe space. You are equal and good, and your trust has been taken advantage of. For that, I am tremendously sorry and hope that with awareness to the harmful affects of such behaviour, and with continued support from those who wish to see each and every one of you succeed in writing and in life, that one day we might have safe communities to share.
anyways, i made a poc positivity blog of my own in light of the recent bullshit with pocpositivity. it’s exclusively to promote the muns of color in the roleplay community, and it’s made because i’m sick and tired of poc muns having to take things into their own hands to get shit done. white people need to step the fuck up, so i’m gonna try my best to give what i can. please spread the word !

she had her headphones in when she noticed him, brow raised as she pulled out one earplug. he seemed like the loner type, but her curiosity was too consuming. ❛ hey man, you alright? ❜
( @silicoded // sc. )
someone approaching me? here? how odd.
i have had my hands shoved into my pockets for what feels like ages now; perhaps it is because when i delve deep into my thoughts, i am often left alone in a state similar to being comatose - still, quiet, my face likely pensive.
i have watched myself in the mirror before, i know what to expect. periods of blank thought accompanied by an intense glare at nothing in particular.
the woman's voice had, to some extent, brought me back to reality.
' what? i.. i was just thinking, is all. the mind is a... a, em, well, it is what it is. thoughts and the like - all very... very engaging... '
