ACT 27 - The Burning of Honno-ji
And so, it begins. Where branches of the tree branches off into smaller ones, all bearing fruits. Each one being different, unique in their own rights.
And the continuation of the stories of many. A chapter ending in front of their eyes, with a new chapter starting in front of them at the same time. Mirrors worlds, where a mirror can reflect multiple worlds and fates at once till one, comes out and sprouts to be picked.
â
âWhat is going on!?â
âI-itâs coming from Kyoto!â
âIs thatâ!â
âHonno-ji⌠on fireâŚ?â
The townspeople of Azuchi stood outside despite how dark it was. All gaping in shock, in fear, and other negative emotions across their face. Their lord was there. In that burning temple.
It was burning. Honno-ji was on fire with Ranmaru and Nobunaga inside. The blaze could be seen from afar, especially in Azuchi. Cherry had her hands covering her mouth, her eyes were full of tears. Ellara was beside her, trying to hold Cherry from collapsing to the ground â even she is in shock and unable to say anything as the scene plays in front of them
What⌠just happened
B-brother⌠n-noâŚ
You must be wondering, how did this all start? Let us go back to where it slowly unraveled in the month that this started.
âMitsuhide, assist Hideyoshi with this,â Nobunaga gave Mitsuhide a slip of paper, to back up with Hideyoshi and Mitsunari in a campaign that isnât going in their favour currently.
âVery well, my lord,â Mitsuhide took it and bowed before leaving.
Ranmaru was in the room to discuss with Nobunaga if he could be the only one from the Mori Clan to accompany him. Nobunaga was skeptical about it, before accepting his offer. It is wise knowing it is merely a diplomat, nothing that needs warfare to finish it. Leaving Ranmaru to be grateful that he could get his adoptive family out of this plan that he and the Ikko-Ikki had been planning for these four years.
âThank you, Lord Nobunaga. I will protect you with my life.â
Back in Cherryâs room, both Ellara and Amaryllis sense something was off with Cherry. She is usually the one to start the conversation but this time, she is quiet â afraid that something is about to happen. Looking at each other, both of them nodded.
âCherry, is something wrong?â Ellara asked the obvious to get the ball rolling.
Taking a moment to decide, Cherry shook her head. âI know my brotherâs goal will come true but⌠this feeling. It hasnât left me for the past month⌠I thought it was just anxiety but knowing it has persisted this long, I canât help but wonder. What will happen to my brother?â Her eyes held doubt and worry for the future for this period â this timeline.
Amaryllis knows that feeling well, well sort of. It is mostly because her âdreamsâ torment her constantly that she barely sleeps for the first time till the second time. âWe donât know what the future may hold,â with Amaryllis lighting up some incense to clear the air and mind for everyone, âBut, all we could do is face it⌠that is the choice we have, Iâm afraidâŚâ
Smelling the burning incense, it relaxed everyone, somewhat. Letting Cherry to feel a bit lighter than she once was. Ellara looked at them, both holding secrets and information in their own way â she wonât prey it out as she has hers as well. âWelp,â Ellara laid down on the floor, âAmaryllis is right, Cherry. All we could do is face it head on, sometimes⌠life is a pain in the butt. But that is how life is, we have to face our fears â ourselves â at some point.â
It cracked the tension in the room, and it made both Amaryllis and Cherry smile a bit. Knowing it is best to move this conversation elsewhere, they decided to talk about the types of suitors they may face later on in the peaceful times.
It was now June 20th. The Oda Forces stood out and waved as Nobunaga and Ranmaru with a few vassals went out to Kyoto. Amaryllis smiled as she waved to Ranmaru, who smiled back with his own wave. The moment the group left, Amaryllis quickly set out to meet with Sasuke and the others â under the guise of meeting an old friend of hers.
Mitsuhide was already out, heading to where Hideyoshi was at and stuck in a battle. Masamune and Ieyasu stayed put in the castle to safeguard Cherry â who was in charge of the castle once more.
Arundhati met Amaryllis half-way to the meeting ground which was near Kyoto. âDidnât expect you to arrive this early, Ama. How have things been in Azuchi?â
âAlright, I suppose. But I know what will happen, I-â Amaryllis hesitated on her following words before saying it, âI donât plan on interfering but⌠the two people you all previously mentioned in the past, they will arrive.â
That left Arundhati confused before remembering Morganâs words that Amaryllis possesses something supernatural compared to everyone. âI see. Follow me, everyone is waiting at the moment.â
The two hop from tree to tree to meet the others before coming to stop. âSomething is wrong,â Arundhati pointed out.
Standing still, Amaryllis closed her eyes. A faint clash of steel could be heard. Facing the direction of the noise, Amaryllis told Arundhati, âGo, I will catch up with you, Aru.â
Nodding to her words, Arundhati left to regroup with Shingen, Kenshin, Yoshimoto, Yukimura, and the others.
âShitâŚâ Morgan cursed under their breath, clearly they were behind but now they were stuck in battle with a group of ronins.
âThis is Morgan Toyotomi? Man! They look like they are near death!â
Being insulted didnât bother them much knowing they face much worse, but it doesnât mean they felt it piercing their heart. It was only when in the corner of their eyes, Morgan saw one of the ronins doing a familiar hand movement â that made their trauma resurface â tightening their sword once more, Morgan took a step back. âD-do not come any closer!â
âWhat else? Clearly, you can be used as aââ
Morgan couldnât hear the roninsâ words anymore. It was muffled, they were scared. Could they do it? Really do it? It was only when a word that one of the ronins said â something that person said to them before committing that heinous act toward them â made them blank out. The next thing they came back to was all of them on the ground â lifeless. Either necks slashed or decapitated.
Taking a step back, Morgan looked at their hands â covered in blood â they didnât want to believe they did it but the red on their sword and clothes said otherwise.
â...I- I didnât meanâŚâ Morgan was shaking, they didnât mean to kill them, they truly meant it.
Jumping down from the branch, Amaryllis saw Morgan in the center. Surprise but not really at the same time. Taking a step, Morgan turned around â terrified â before calming down a bit after seeing their sister.
âA-AmaâŚâ
Placing a handkerchief into Morganâs hands with a bamboo bottle filled with water, Amaryllis didnât bother questioning as she knew full well. âYou do not need to explain, wash yourself up before we head out. And⌠Morgan, donât blame yourself. For it to be the first time killing someone,â she picked up one of the roninâs arms to see if they are really dead, âyou will shake and be terrified, thatâs normal. That was my reaction when I first took a life⌠it will be difficult, but you will have to live with the fact that your hands are coated in someoneâs blood. I will be honest⌠this is the first time you have performed the Tianjiu Star.â
Washing their hands and sword, Morgan looked at Amaryllis in surprise. âH-how do you live like thisâŚ?â
Turning to Morgan, Amaryllis merely shook her head, âI donât. But, what I can do is to make sure nobody else has to take a life,â presenting a set of clothes that Morgan can change into â their hakama when they were in Azuchi, âthat is the reason why I havenât fallen apart, yet. If I can protect with these stained hands of mine, then I will gladly go to hell if it means the people I care about can find peace in heaven.â
It was dark with the moon high when Morgan and Amaryllis arrived. Kenshin and Yukimura were skeptical as to why Amaryllis was decked in her gear and Morgan wearing something different, yet, they didnât bother to comment on it. Waiting for the first blaze to spark.
Sasuke and Arundhati looked at each other before nodding, Kyoko prepared herself mentally for what she would see. Tonight, is where the world stands still and holds their breath.
Ranmaru was in Honno-ji, he got a clear shot in killing Nobunaga but he hesitated. Ranmaru couldnât do it, he really canât. It was Amaryllisâ smile that came to his mind before everyone in the Oda Forces â these are the people who accepted him and asked nothing more but his efforts in completing tasks.
âI- I canâtâŚâ Ranmaru whispered before moving out and signaling Daiju, who turned and called out for Kennyo to do it.
Daiju and Kennyo went into the temple, without uttering a word. Daiju lit the place on fire with Kennyo approaching the sleeping Nobunaga. The smoke from the fire quickly hid their figures.
CRACKLE
Ranmaru wanted to scream â tell his savior to stop or have anything to stop them â but he was torn apart. He wants to exact Kennyoâs revenge but also wants to protect Nobunaga. All Ranmaru could do was let his tears fall down from his face.
It was when a strike of lighting appeared. Blinding them all.
Surprising all of them before shielding their eyes.
Amidst the smoke, two people â Mai and Marie â appeared in thin air and came face to face in a burning room of a temple. Marie quickly warns Mai to cover her face with her sleeve. Both of them cover their faces before finding an unconscious Nobunaga, quickly, Mai notices Kennyoâs figure in the smoke.
âHey! Look out!â Mai ran to Nobunaga, unbeknownst to the two.
âYou. Get the hell out of here!â Marie glared at the figure who quickly left.
Mai was able to wake up Nobunaga with him asking, âWho are you?â
âNo time for introductions. Come on, Letâs get out of here!â Mai took Nobunagaâs hand and dashed out.
âThis place wonât hold up any longer! Anyone who is awake! Get out of this building!â Marie yelled at the empty hallways without knowing if there were any survivors.
Meanwhile Ranmaru muttered out through his tears, âIâm sorry⌠Iâm sorry but I couldn't do it..â
Daiju heard Ranmaruâs apology but didnât bother to ask as he grabbed him before running out of the temple to meet with Kennyo in the forest. And to save their lives along with their friend â Amaryllis â from a heartbreak of losing someone important to her once more.
The three were at the foot of the temple with Mai catching her breath with Marie taking note of their surroundings.
âSomeone tried to do away with me while I slept? Audacious, but foolish. Killing my guards and getting that close to me is another matter. You. Let go of me,â Nobunaga shook off Maiâs grasp on him.
âOh, sorry!â Mai apologized to him without knowing who he was.
Staring at the two, âYou two saved my life. You two may be girls that the monks snuck in for amusement, but I owe you my thanks.â
That took both Marie and Mai off guard. They knew the history of lustful monks but didnât think they would be caught up in this. Both Mai and Marie was staring at Nobunagaâs armor, clearly trying to figure him out, which Nobunaga took notice of.
âWhat are you staring at? Surely you know who I am,â Nobunaga stared at the two with questions.
âWe really donât,â both of them replied at the same time.
âYou saved me without knowing who I am? Not expecting reward or favor?â Nobunaga let out a small laugh before finishing his thoughts, âSo be it. I shall tell you my name. I am the man who will rule all under the sunââ
Marie felt so annoyed at Nobunagaâs behavior that she interrupted him, âYou really donât need to tell us that.â
That took Nobunaga off guard, clearly being interrupted was something that didnât happen to him much. âNo one has ever spoken so impudently to me before,â with him letting out a laugh, âYou two intrigue me, which is almost as worthy of praise as saving my life. I am the Lord of Azuchi Castle and Daimyo of OWari, Nobunaga Oda.â
You could hear something shattering when Nobunaga said that. Marie looked at Mai with questions which Mai shook her head and hands to tell she didnât know about this either. It was when Mai took notice of the sign that said, âHonno-jiâ, it made Mai feel dreadful for what is about to come. Marie stared at the sign with acceptance, knowing that things are going to either go bad or worse. Mai, wishing it was a dream, asked Nobunaga a simple question, âPardon me⌠what year is itâŚ?â
Nobunaga was confused on why one would ask, regardless he gave it to them, âIt is 1582, why?â
âGOD DAMMNIT!!!â Marie cursed out in her worldâs language further knowing that English doesn't have more.
Mai blankly stared at Nobunaga before pinching herself in hopes it was a dream. It was not.
âWhy are you pinching yourself? Iâve given my name. It is your turn now,â Nobunaga said before grabbing Maiâs chin.
âMaiâŚâ
âMarie, if you want my name. Why nowâŚ?.â
The two were clearly not enjoying this except for Nobunaga. It was when Mitsunari arrived with soldiers, who quickly started to extinguish the fire. Mitsunari followed up Nobunaga with everything that occurred for him and Hideyoshi â the rumors of the assisnation and the search for the assassin â before taking notice of the two ladiesâ presence. Clearly, Mai is tired and does not want to deal with this with Marie racking her brain on how they got to this moment of time. Introductions were given between the two and Mitsunari.
An attempt was made to clear that they arenât from this time period but they were dismissed. Leaving Marie to be a bit pissed before holding back to prevent their situation from getting worse.
âWait right here. Iâll bring a warm cup of good, clean water to clear both of your throats,â Mitsunari smiled as he carried out his words.
âHe sure is differentâŚâ Marie couldnât help but comment how different Mitsunari is compared to Nobunaga.
âYou clean up well.â
A voice that neither of them wanted to deal with, Nobunaga, came behind them. Marie was silently hoping that someone comes in and saves them before she punches him in the face. Mai on other hand, was crying internally for what they may face with the Devil King.
Seeing the fire has come to an end, Amaryllis decided it is best for her to leave.
âI should get going, take care,â Amaryllis waved as she left to head to the Oda.
Morgan took a step forward â scared but determined in their eyes, âLet me come as well.â
âMorgan!?â
âI-I need to confront my past⌠it is only natural, isnât it, Ama?â staring directly at their younger sister, telling her they wonât run, not this time after having time to reflect.
â...alright.â
With that, the two siblings left. Leaving the Uesugi-Takeda behind as they proceed to leave. Yet, Sasuke, Arundhati, and Kyoko felt something had changed.
Sasuke stood there as he watched two of his friends leave. Pausing to think about what has happened let alone, Amaryllisâ supernatural ability that somehow predicted this moment.
Is this what you meant on that day where you said you didnât ask to possess such power?
Before dashing away to confirm that Nobunaga is indeed alive.
Instead of the Mitsunari they were hoping for, Mitsuhide came through, âMy lord, I see you are well.â
Nobunaga was taken aback by his left-hand manâs presence, âMitsuhide?â
âI hurried here when I heard about the attack, but it seems there was nothing for me to worry about,â Mitsuhide smirked despite his thoughts saying otherwise.
Nobunaga had a smirk on his face when Mitsuhide said that. âYou, worry? Donât make me laugh. Iâve never seen you sweat.â
Rushing in, Hideyoshi came forth. Bursting through the curtains, âLord Nobunaga! Are you injured?!â
âHideyoshi. The only injury I suffered is to my pride in letting my assailant escape.â
Hideyoshi let out a breath he was holding, âI see.â
âI do hope we arenât late,â Amaryllis made both of their presence known.
Morgan steps foot into the area, clearly looking the same but different. âWe heard the attack, so we thought we would check, given the situation.â
Seeing the two eased the warlords a bit, especially Marie and Mai, who recognized Morgan. Amaryllis looked at the two before coming to the same conclusion, looking at Morgan, they both nodded.
âY-youâre safe! Morgan!â Hideyoshi embraced his child as every worry he had for them spilled out.
Nobunaga stared at Morgan before indirectly telling them how he was wrong and how much pain he caused them, taking responsibility. Morgan understood by nodding â not without a condition. âYou will have to show me you have changed, Nobunaga. For me to forgive you.â
Which made Marie and Mai a bit confused about what Morgan was talking about, but without reminding themselves what is going on in front of them.
âDamn, now Hideyoshi Toyotomi shows upâ hold onâŚâ Marie paused as she took a moment to survey the scene in front of her. She only knows him due to the guide book she snagged up earlier before someone snatched it from her with the Tokugawa charm.
Breaking free from hugging his child, Hideyoshi stared at Marie in confusion. âArenât we outspoken? Have we met?â
Nobunaga shook his head before stepping in. âLet her be. Their names are Marie and Mai. They both saved my life.â
Clearly, that surprised everyone in the room. Well, somewhat for Morgan and Amaryllis, who just tilted their head in confusion. Morgan now understands what Amaryllis meant by what she said to Arundhati, because these two saved Nobunaga thus, changing history.
âAnd youâre such a slender thing. But it appears your courage makes up for it,â Mitsuhide teased the two much to their dismay.
âMitsuhide, what are you doing here?â Hideyoshi went up close to Mitsuhide, clearly, no space was left between them.
Mitsuhide dropped his playfulness to a serious one, âI was wondering the same thing. I didnât know you were in Kyoto. What about the campaign?â
âWhen I heard about the threat on Lord Nobunagaâs life, I dropped everything to come here. But I never heard anything about you being in Kyoto," Hideyoshi asked Mitsuhide, clearly suspicious but not at the same time.
âAre you implying something?â Mitsuhide looked Hideyoshi dead in the eyes.
âCan you swear before our lord you werenât plotting anything?â
Moments of silence passed by. Amaryllis and Morgan weaved through to stand beside Mai and Marie, clearly watching their adoptive father and teacher duke it out, somewhat.
After some back and forth between the two men, Hideyoshi was still suspicious till Mai spoke out in Mitsuhideâs defense. Clearly surprising both parties. But thanks to Maiâs information about the possible assailant, she was able to clear Mitsuhideâs name due to his clothing being different. Unfortunately, she was met with Hideyoshiâs glare, âMai, wasnât it? Stay out of this. Weâll settle things with you later, and learn why youâve schemed to get so close to Lord Nobunaga.â
Collectively, both Amaryllis and Morgan facepalm at the same time when Hideyoshi said that. âHideyoshi, use your brain! They donât have anything on them that would have shouted Nobunagaâ assailants! Let alone their hands don't have any calluses like ours!â Amaryllis was clearly baffled at Hideyoshi's obliviousness with Morgan nodding.
Sadly, Mai didnât take it well. âExcuse me! We were there by chance. And Iâm not the schemer here!"
It only stopped when Nobunaga said so. It was when he followed up, âHideyoshi, Mitsuhide, Amaryllis, Morgan, give us a moment. I have something to discuss with both of them.â
Amaryllis and Morgan didnât like that one bit, clearly something is about to happen. âMorgan, get the horses ready,â Amaryllis whispered to Morgan who quickly left.
Nobunaga approached Mai and Marie, âYour bold lies about coming from the future aside, you saved my life. Iâm intrigued by both of you. Perhaps you are the ones who carry fortuneâs favor.â
âHard pass,â Marie just blankly stared at Nobunaga when he said that.
âI could argue thatââ Mai was about to finish till Nobunaga brought her towards him â shocking everyone.
âBuddha, give me patienceâŚâ Amaryllis whispered knowing the chaos that's about to unfold.
âHow would you like to rule the world at my side?â
That was enough to blue screen both Marie and Mai. Things were going so fast that Mai took Nobunaga's hands off of her and dashed off. Mitsuhide, Hideyoshi, Amaryllis, and Marie called out to her but she ignored it before running into the forest.
âShe justââ Marie just stared at the betrayal from Mai for leaving her.
âMarie, wasnât it? This is very different, but hopefully you will get used to the dynamic around here,â Amaryllis places a hand on Marieâs shoulder to comfort her.
Elsewhere, Motonari was at an inn. Clearly disappointed in the chaos that played out in front of him.
âHa! So that's how it ends? Looks like I came all the way out here for nothing. Thought Iâd see a real party, not a sad excuse for a show. Heh⌠for a dead man like me, yer little campfire lacks the sweet smell of gunpowder. Well, ya can start celebrating now, Nobunaga. Iâm coming back, and Iâm bringing the worst the world has to offer with me.â
With that, the God of Deceit vanished till a moment for him to strike came by. Perhaps he will bring in a tsunami to consume the island when he comes back.
Mai ran through the forest and met Kennyo, which she left after feeling a sense of dread with him. It was mostly due to his build being similar to the man that tried to kill Nobunaga. With Mai out of sight, Kennyo turned to Ranmaru and Daiju.
âIâm sorry, Master Kennyo. But I donât think I can stay with them after what I-â
Kennyo stops the young man from saying anything further, âRanmaru, thatâs nonsense. You performed your role at Honno-ji well. I witnessed myself how much the Devil king trusts you.â
âMaster Kennyo is right, Ran. Besides, Amaryllis may vouch for you if you return,â Daiju chimed in. âIt is because of those two that the plan fell apart, but we will get our chance to strike back, right, Master?â Daiju turned to Kennyo who nodded.
âHold on!â Kyoko's voice resonated in the forest, which paused Mai.Â
âY-you are!â Mai took a moment to see Kyoko with Arundhati alongside a warlord.
âYou need to step away from the cliff, it isnât stable,â Arundhati warned Mai, who took notice and followed her advice.
âT-thank youâŚâ
Yukimura merely stared at the three interactions before insulting Mai by calling her a boar woman, leading him to have the nastiness stares he got from the three.
âYuki, you know better than to insult someone,â Shingen appeared with his cousin, Yoshimoto, and Kenshin.
âDonât tease me, Lord Shingen,â Yukimura let out a heavy sigh at being called Yuki.
Mai took a moment to digest everything before looking at the two ladies once more, for answers â they stayed silent.
âEither way, what are you doing here late at night?â Yukimura turned back to Mai with questions â biting his tongue to not insult her for the lack of direction.
âI was looking for a shortcut to my happy placeâŚâ Mai answered with anguish at how her dream was now getting out of reach.
Either way, Shingen didnât care. Thus, deciding to flirt with Mai, âSmoke from Honno-ji and a woman all alone at night.â With him thrusting his hand out to her, âPerhaps youâre a ghost? Though youâre the most beautiful ghost Iâve ever seen.â
That made the three behind him cringe, none of them are used to such poetry. To Arundhati and Kyoko it seems passable but Shingen may need to work on his flirting a bit more.
âIâm actually quite normal. I mean, normal for a person, not a ghost,â Mai closed her eyes with an uneasy smile on her face.
It didnât take long for Yoshimoto and Kenshin to appear from the forest. Clearly, Shingenâs flirt made their location known to the both of them.
Kenshin wasnât impressed with Shingenâs flirting at all, âYour ability to spew cheap pick-up lines never ceases to amaze me.â
Despite that, Shingen never let his smile falter. âI just call it like I see it, Kenshin.â
Yoshimoto heed no mind to the two warlords and looked directly at Mai, admiring her kimono. âYou there, could you please step into the light? Thank you.â
Mai felt at ease with Yoshimoto despite not knowing why. âSure, Iâ Hey, give me a minuteâ!â till she was yanked into the moonlight as Yoshimoto scanned Maiâs kimono in its glory.
âWhat a fine piece,â were the words of compliment from Yoshimoto.
Arundhati, being the ninja she is, decided to step in to make Mai feel more comfortable than being close up to her lord. âLord Yoshimoto, give her some space. And tell her that you wish to see her kimonoâs embroidery rather than walking up to her.â
âAh. My apologies, thank you Arundhati for reminding me.â Yoshimoto turned to Maiâs face â making eye contact â before asking her: âWould you be interested in exchanging that kimono youâre wearing with from my collection?â
Kyoko was holding her laughter as she saw Arundhati look at her with defeat on her expression. Arundhati decided to not intervene this time knowing how exhausting Yoshimoto can be when it comes to art. Mai was blankly staring at Yoshimoto for saying, let alone suggesting such a thing.
Yukimura stepped in Maiâs defense â by pulling Yoshimoto away like a cat, âFor the last time, Yoshimoto, women arenât pieces of art, so get your hands off her, will you?!â
Mai was not expecting warlords â who should be dead by this point according to history â in her adventure to the past let alone, the three she went into the past with seem to be well adjusted to the time period except for her and Marie. Especially Arundhati, she is decked in her own gear with Kyoko being in a hakama. It was when Mai spotted another figure â Sasuke â appearing from the forest, and yet his footsteps didnât make a noise. Arundhati was nodding to Sasuke â telling him that this is one of the two who they couldnât find during their four year stay till now.
âMy lords, Iâve returned. Nobunagaâs forces have extinguished the fires at Honno-ji,â the first words that Sasuke said to the group on the cliff.
That news made Yoshimoto smile â art hasnât been destroyed this time thankfully. âThank goodness they did. That temple houses many treasures. I fear for the fire damage.â
Kenshinâs words to Sasukeâs report were different â the opposite of Yoshimoto. âThank you for your investigation, Sasuke. So, I presume Nobunaga is alive, then?â
âYes.â
That one word made the three time travelers look at Mai â the savior to Nobunaga from his destined fate â before looking at each other in silence. Without words, both Arundahti and Kyoko nodded to Sasuke to take Mai else until a moment comes where they can fully explain to her and the other one, Marie.
Shingenâs smile dropped, no longer carrying a light atmosphere. âHe got the devilâs luck.â
With Yukimura suggesting something else but still the same. âOr heâs the devil.â
Mai saw the changes in the two warlords â anger but didnât look down on Nobunaga â in seeing him as an opponent they cannot let their guard down, no matter what. It made her nervous in a way.
Kenshin redirected the conversation to Mai.âWe happened to run into her here. Do you three know this woman?â With the three in question being Kyoko, Arundhati, and Sasuke.
All of them shook their heads to Kenshinâs question â playing it low for the time being. Sasuke spoke up, âThough I spotted a village on the way here. She must be from there. Iâll escort her home.â
Shingen senses something off with Sasuke, taking this moment to tease the ninja. âMoving quick, arenât you, Sasuke? You and Yoshimoto both. Give the rest of us a chance, will you?â
âLord Shingen, please. We should return to the city before any of the Oda soldiers sees us,â Kyoko spoke, reminding them that they were here to watch, not stargaze.
With that, Arundhati and Kyoko pushed the warlords to head back to the city while giving Sasuke the signal to bring Mai elsewhere. Mai, not sure what to do, decided to follow Sasuke for the meantime and have her answers to why they are here.
Once far away, Sasuke dropped his mask down for Mai to recognize him â she did. Leaving the two to have a conversation about the events that led them to be here, while mentioning other time-travellers who arrived to this period long before any of them did.Â
To Mai, it made sense in a way. Yet, it didnât help as she was about to land her dream job right before this all happened. Especially how all six of them entered the wormhole at the same time, only her and Marie were brought four years after they arrived. And now, they are living in a different timeline â their actions of saving historic people carved out this path.
âBecause of fluctuation in spacetime, weâre in a divergent timeline â one in which history will take a different course. I major in theoretical astrophysics at Kyoto University, specializing in wormholes and their potential for time travel. Iâd conceived of a method for predicting the conditions and patterns under which traversable wormholes might manifest,â Sasuke gave Mai a bunch of info dump about himself and wormholes before saying why he was at the monument that day, âTo verify my method.â
That much information stuns Mai. Originally, she thought he was a med student, hence his lab coat at the time. Only to realize that Sasuke and the others were trying to find her and Marie for four years since they arrived.
âSo, this really isnât a dream then?â
âI suppose you could say itâs a dream for me. I get to see the famous men and women of the Sengoku with my own eyes,â Sasukeâs eyes were glistening with stars around him â making Mai take a pause to see if she was really seeing this correctly.
âYouâre strangely chipper about this,â Mai had an awkward smile on her face, clearly not used to this yet.
Thus, Sasuke explained how his parents were history buffs and him taking the role of a fictional character, Sasuke Sarutobi. With the others trying to downplay their effects by not interfering much, staying in the shadows to hopefully not make an impact on history or change its course more than what they did already. Before telling how she has allies that she can trust, both them and the others she will meet later â she trusts him mostly because he is her only way of getting back to the 21st century. The moment Mai extended her hand to accept Sasukeâs hand, hoofbeats were heard in the distance. Making Sasuke to disappear in the shadows to avoid being seen or make Maiâs situation worse for her.
Mai was shocked before turning around to see Hideyoshi and Masamune on their horses, stopping in front of her.
âI searched the whole forest for you,â the first seven words that Hideyoshi spoke to her â slightly irritating her.
âI didnât ask you to.â
Even with that, Hideyoshi didnât let his guard down with Mai despite seeing how Amaryllis was willing to stick up for her. âHiding yourself from Lord Nobunaga for no reason whatsoever. How insolent can you get?â
âNo reason? He asked us to conquer the world with him and didnât look like he was taking a no for an answer!â Maiâs voice was slowly getting higher as her irritation with Hideyoshi grew only to stop by Masamune speaking.
âYouâre Mai? A stalwart lass indeed,â Masamune seems to be enjoying this situation more than Hideyoshi, âIâve no doubt both of you are the women who defied Lord Nobunaga.â
Mai, being unaware, asked. âAnd you are? Someone else Iâm supposed to recognize?â only to be yanked up to Masamuneâs horse by him.
âIâd be pleased if you did, but nowâs not the best time to talk.â
Despite Maiâs futile attempts to get out of Masamuneâs grasp, she held onto him for dear life as he took his horse off at incredible speed after giving her his name. Hideyoshi followed suit. Both men were ordered to find Mai and bring her to Azuchi â where everyone was waiting for them.
The moment they arrived in Azuchi, Mai couldnât help but have her breath taken away by seeing the castle in its glory before its fall.
âDonât show yourself to Lord Nobunaga with that expression. You look like a gaping frog,â Hideyoshi didnât hold back but at the same time, giving Mai some advice.
Mai merely gave Hideyoshi a side eye, âI do not. And I havenât agreed to see him.â
âSo you're a morning person. Iâll keep that in mind,â Masamune merely smiled, Mai remembered she is very close to Masamune.
After some moments with Masamune and Hideyoshi getting on Maiâs nerves, they saw Mitsunari, Ieyasu and Marie with the two she spotted back in Honno-ji and someone else â who sorta resembles Nobunaga in a way, despite Marie also resembling him as well. Hideyoshi was occupied with his fangirls in the distance.
âDamn, they didnât let you go either?â Marie asked Mai despite knowing the answer.
âYesâŚâ Mai groaned, if only she wasnât wearing a kimono, maybe then she could have run further.
Morgan stepped forward and introduced Mai to them, Amaryllis, and Cherry â Nobunagaâs sister. With Mitsunari welcoming the lordsâ return and Mai as well. Amaryllis nudged Ieyasu, telling him to introduce himself only for Masamune to do it on his behalf. Surprising Mai as she knows how important Ieyasu is to history.
âMitsunari, I donât have anything more to say to Nobunagaââ
âShe looks pitiful,â Ieyasu didnât hesitate in saying those words.
âIeyasu, you could have been less harsh,â Morgan crossed their arms together before looking at Ieyasu with disappointment.
Rolling his eyes, Ieyasu tried to be more polite to the best he could. âYouâre Mai?â
âYes. So, wow, youâre Ieyasu?â
âWhat if I am?â
âIeyasu⌠I know you are bad with words, but at least try to not be sour,â Amaryllis smacked Ieyasuâs head the best she could despite how tall he is compared to her.
âStop that.â
âNo.â
Cherry giggled at seeing the Oda apothecary and doctor mess with each other in their own way. Ellara was behind her, making sure she didn't fall apart after seeing the blaze in Kyoto â she thought Cherry was going to beat Nobunagaâs ass after scaring her half to death when he came back to them alive.
âAh, you must be Mai. Greetings, I am Ellara.â
Seeing another girl in the crowd other than Hideyoshiâs fans made Mai feel less tense. âItâs nice to meet you, Ellara.â
Hideyoshi walked back to the group after breaking free from the crowd with a wry smile, âIeyasu, thatâs no way to greet someone. Take Ellara for an example. And Amaryllis, stop trying to hit him in the head already.â
âNo.â Both of them turned to Hideyoshi with eyes full of resolve â to let them act like this even for a moment longer.
âCan he? Iâm not sure Iâve ever seen him do it,â Masamune had a smirk before leaning on Ellara â who was now trying to stand still while supporting her lordâs weight in front of so many people. âWhat does your smile look like?â
âWhy is that important?â Ieyasu turned to Msamune after holding Amaryllis in place like preventing a kitten from shoving its face in food.
âDonât be unsociable. You need to let loose. Learn to smile and laugh.â
Morgan scanned the premise before realizing something. âWhere is RanmaruâŚ?â
That made everyone freeze except for Marie and Mai â who were confused. Nobody dared to say it, especially Amaryllis. She stopped her attempt to mess with Ieyasu as she froze â eyes frozen in fear â Ieyasu, Morgan, Mitsunari took notice and decided to bring her elsewhere. Morgan knows how much the smell of burning flesh of someone she cares about or even mention of it impacted her, perhaps it's the reason why she had incense burning in her room â to prevent her from smelling something that she hates.
Mai and Marie were concerned for Amaryllis. For her to freeze up like that, that person must have held great importance to her. âWhat was her relationship with that Ranmaru person?â Marie asked Cherry.
âA page of my brother, he was one of the few who⌠accompanied him to Honno-ji. We donât know if he survived or perished in the fire but they were close. I suppose almost like lovers in a wayâŚâ Cherry answered Marieâs question, despite knowing that the progress that Amaryllis did will be pushed back for a bit.Â
âAhm. Lord Ieyasu is allied with Lord Nobunaga, like my lord, Masamune,â Ellara decided to move the conversation elsewhere â knowing it is something that Amaryllis would have wanted. âI suppose we will have a⌠reunion⌠when everyone gets some rest,â Ellara turned to Hideyoshi and Masamune who nodded in agreement.
In Azuchiâs town, Yukimura set up his stand. Taking the scenery of the townâs liveliness in heart â reminding him of his homeland.
âI didnât expect this to be such a cheerful place,â before turning his head around to spot Sasuke, âNow where has Sasuke gone? I haven't heard from him since yesterday,â
Shrugging his shoulders as he knows Sasuke will be fine. Turning to the castle, Yukimura smiled before saying, âJustice is coming. I hope youâre prepared, Nobunaga.âÂ
Afterwards, Mitsunari brought Marie and Mai to their respective rooms â separated to give them the rest they needed after such an eventful night. Marie was occupied in her room in observing areas that may need some changes to prevent any assassins from coming in, it was only when her doors were opened by Morgan with Cherry.
âNobunaga summoned me to a war council???â Marie looked at them in confusion, clearly wasnât expecting to be involved let alone war preparation.
âYes. He did. I know you want to punch Nobunaga in the face whichââ Morgan was cutted off by Cherry.
âYou can punch him if he pisses you off, you got my permission,â Cherry smiled, but yet, her smile wasn't reaching her eyes.
âGood. At least I can do something without facing some sort of consequences,â Marie dusted her hands as she thought about what she could do to Nobunaga knowing her intelligence and experience in the battlefield.
âHonestly, no complaints from me. Amaryllis told him he was weird and⌠he is. I do wish he could get kicked in the balls sometime,â Morgan closed their eyes as they remembered the reason why they left the Oda for a bit.
âThatâs a bit overkillâŚâ Cherry looked at them, with worry for her brother now â he needs his reproductive organ to keep the Oda line going after all.
Meanwhile all of that was happening in Marieâs room, Sasuke came in Maiâs room before talking to her further till a knock was heard. Thus, Sasuke went back into the roof to hide once more. Mai turned around to see who was at her door till it was open â Amaryllis, with her appearance being slightly okay.
âAmaryllisâŚ?â
Amaryllis could only give a smile â a fake one â to Mai. âGlad to know you remember my name at least. Mitsuhide was here earlier to fetch you, but I decided to take over on his behalf,â staring at Mai with her hands open to her.
Knowing it is best to follow, Mai took Amaryllisâ hands before following behind her. Originally, she thought she was a lively and outgoing person when she first met but now? It seems like a husk of her former self â grief in her eyes.
I do hope that Ranmaru is alive⌠It would be a shame for her to be like this constantlyâŚ
The two saw Mitsuhide waiting for them at the entrance to the great hall. Mai tightened her grasp in Amaryllisâ hands as she was reminded that Mitsuhide should be the one who planned everything â the assination, the overthrowment of Nobunaga â but this time it wasnât him in this timeline, it was someone else. âIt is natural to be scared of Mitsuhide, Mai,â Amaryllis whispered to reassure Mai before spotting the three â Morgan, Marie, and Cherry â in the distance.
âSeems like everyone is here,â Mitushide said.
âI suppose Ellara is sitting behind Masamune, isnât she?â Cherry tilted her head up high to Mitsuhide â who nodded as an answer to her. âVery well. Let us get going. My brother has some questions for these two.â
Stepping in the Great Hall, Mai and Marie sat down near the end while the others went to sit behind their respective lord, family, or brother.
âYou kept me waiting, Marie and Mai,â the first words that Nobunaga said the moment they were in his sight.
âUh⌠sorry.â
âSigh⌠Could at the very least tell either of us about it earlierâŚâÂ
Morgan, Mitsunari, and Amaryllis sat near or behind Hideyoshi. Ellara behind Masamune with Yori and Kojuro next to him. Kyubei next to Mitsuhide. Cherry is near her brother, Nobunaga, with Ryuu sitting behind Cherry to guard both his lord and princess from any surprise attacks. With Mitsuhide and Hideyoshi being on the left and right of Nobunaga â to display their ranking to the room. Ieyasu was next to Mitsunari but a bit closer to Nobunaga due to him being an ally to him.
All eyes were at the two. Waiting for Nobunaga to open his mouth. The moment he did, he laid out the conditions he had for them if they wished to stay â well they were forced to stay â in his castle. Mai being his lucky charm. And Marie, being one of Cherryâs ladies in waiting, but the head of them. It is due to Cherryâs suggestion, after all, even with a short time period she had with Marie, Cherry saw that Marie is capable of something else â like Amaryllis â and knowing she seems to be a free spirit, a free spirit that can bring order and trust that Cherry was hoping to find in someone to lead her ladies till now.
From afarâŚ
âLord Kicho, we were waiting for your return.â
Kicho, returning to the period of war after four years, finally saw the future after this war torn era. Gripping his hands, he cannot fathom that even after war, there were those who chose to toss their lives away due to others. Especially how children were seen as an investment now, no longer political tools. No longer someone to nurture, a tool, but not for war, for their parentsâ gain. That angers him more. Knowing how the one thing he was trying to prevent â to not have children be locked away and be tools for their parents to use â still happens.
âContact any foreign countries, and have them see if they wish to have a deal with us,â Kicho turned to his vassals â what remains of them â with eyes sunken from the horror he had to see.
He had witnessed parents beating their children or verbally abusing them â reminding him of his past and how he had to become a shadow to just stay alive. And that abuse slowly pushed them to have their mind on the verge of breaking â to kill themselves to be free. And it still happens to adults, when he opened one abandoned place, he saw a man who hanged himself. Blue with no signs of resistance â merely done living in a life that no longer wants him â after doing what society told him to do for all his life.
To him, he faced that what he was trying to prevent was only in vain. All he wanted was to prevent others from being a shadow or following what society expected of them. And yet, all of them were either pushed by their parents or society to take that jump â to their deaths to be free from a world that didnât respect them as an individual, a mere extension of someone. Making up his mind, he will be the villain of this story once more to make sure those people will never come to existence â so nobody has to suffer the same way as he did by being isolated, abused, and brought down several times for merely being a twin or anything. Something that he â they â didnât ask for.
To think about everything⌠What we did was in vain. I need to get rid of those people⌠make them realize how precious not just their life is, but others. If a world of conflict reminds us how each life is precious⌠then so be it.
At the same time, stories about people who were once dead were slowly creeping into the light. Playing the waiting game till the perfect moment arrives â for the shadows to reveal themselves that they are still alive.
Bringing in either chaos or utopia into the world. A challenge that the Oda or perhaps in the near future, the alliance, must overcome together if they wish to fight in order to keep the future that is 500 years away from then.
âŚ
âWeâll endure and wait for our chance to strike.â
âŚ
âNow that the toying around is over, letâs get down to the important business. Weâll have our fight, but for nowââ
â....We must stamp out the fires threatening to engulf this land first.â
âŚ
âI say we kill him.â
âHe is beyond human compassionâŚâ

AN: WE ARE DONE! AFTER FOUR MONTHS! IT IS DONE! Also sorry if the ending felt off. I tried my best but regardless, this is what my mind was able to come up with đ đ
Thank you everyone for reading this, in total, this book has reach about 120k word account approximately. Like I said, I plan to expand this further, but it will be in Yoshimoto's route since it felt really canon and nice knowing how Mai and Yoshimoto got a lot of chemistry with each other.
Currently, I am writing The Blade of the Utopia, which is a Bad End AU of Amaryllis. Where instead of finding, healing, and understanding herself with the help of her friends, it would be the opposite. It will take on the approach of one of the two main inspos I took to make this story. Which @/woofwoofimmaturtle prob knows which inspo I'm talking about. This AU will talk about manipulation and different types of it, so not so happy for everyone involved, especially the Ikko-Ikki sect. OCs are apart of this AU, currently the OCs that are confirmed in this AU is Cherry, Ellara, and Morgan â who will fight this AU of Amaryllis.
Last thing, I do hope I will meet all of you in Ikemen Sengoku: Romance Beyond Eternity/Ikemen Sengoku: Eien! And good luck to all of you with these last few hours of this year's election! đŤĄ
Sorry for the late post, but I've just returned from the village and have my computer back. I missed it so much.
This is my first JP Sengoku election, but I've seen the same Mitsuhide/Masamune fight for first place in the EN game.
I'm officially the most versatile in the table. Ieyasu is in the top 5 (5th), Rikyu â 13th, and Keiji â 21st. You have no idea how proud I am of myself.
I hope Rikyu will keep his 13th place. I like that number.
Sometimes, I wonder how these people have so much money to splurge. I know they probably saved up each month but I sometimes keep seeing them in every ranking. Like, as much I donât have a bother with it, it sometimes gets annoying when election rolls in. When I either see them in top 3 of most of the warlords. I know they are supporting them but it feels too much at times.
Most of us dont want to spend like idk $300, but when it comes to ranking, it feels like an obligation when trying to stay in top 3 despite knowing someone would just drop $100 and over take you. It can become a point where it feels like they are ruining the fun in it of the election as they got money to spend constantly. Which I know, is the point.
If it was the attire bonuses, I would understand. But after that, I just donât know. Like let others who enjoy him as much have a chance to get it other than robbing others who either waited years for any ounce of his content.
Iâm not gonna bother trying to be in top 3, I spent nearly $100 in the election alone. I donât want to spend any more, it feels a bit too much. I know I said I would do anything to stay in top 3 but Iâm gonna admit defeat here as I donât want to make a financial mistake all because I tried my best to stay in the top 3. Either way, Iâm sorta glad they expanded the original merch from not just top 3 â where you get the letter only â to top 10, without the letter. It atleast means people who planned accordingly have a chance to get merch, so it feels like more an reward than tossing money recklessly.

ACT 26 - Such is The Joy of Our Reunion
Behind the radiant sun, in the shadows, there are those who are weaving closer to their goals. All in hopes for a chance to avenge their loved ones that were lost nearly four years ago.
Their steps, stained with the blood â stained by their sins â whenever they continue forward. All in hopes, to give the dead a sense of peace that they were never given when alive.
â
It is now late April. The three who accompanied Amaryllis to perform that dance for the town that allowed her to stay all those years ago returned back to Azuchi. The damage of Morganâs departure lingers still but not as bad it was in the early days. Most of the uprisings have been settled down which is strange for everyone, but didnât bother to question it as Nobunaga is close to unifying the land.
âSeems like this era of war will finally come to its conclusion.â
âReally, Cherry? I say it will be difficult knowing how sudden this all feels. It is like a dream honestly!â
âIt really does, Ellara. None of us would imagine this period of fighting will come to an end.â
The three stood tall as they looked on the horizon of the rising sun, signifying that morning had come atlas. All three spent the majority of their life in this unpredictable era which will finally come to an end once Nobunaga conquers all of Japan. But for Amaryllis, a feeling that she has been having recently kept her from celebrating.
It was back when she was in Kasugayama Castle. It was where she was given the truth about this era â its history.
âYou are telling me that⌠originally, both Shingen and Kenshin were meant to truly die?â Amaryllis stared at Sasuke in disbelief.
âIndeed. It was because of our interference, history changed, but it continued on its path due to both Shingen and Kenshin deciding to play dead,â Sasuke explained further about their situation â their impact â before adjusting his glasses.
Taking a moment to absorb the information she was given, Amaryllis looked Sasuke in the eyes. âTell me Sasuke. Did somewhere in those pages of history ever say anything about the Li Clan?â
Taken aback by the sudden question of a Chinese Clan that was one of many diplomats between China and Japan of the time, Sasuke nodded. Leading Amaryllis to ask if there is anything more about it. âAll we were able to gather, the members of the Li Clan that was sent here were all killed during a battle in Kyoto. Not sure what happened but all those in that clan were killed.â
âThen⌠even those who carry both Chinese and Japanese origins in their veins⌠were all killedâŚâ Amaryllis bit her lips, angry at the fact despite being surrounded by it constantly.
Sasuke was worried about Amaryllisâ sudden change of behavior. âWas it important to you?â
âNo⌠but your answer was enough. What else should happen in this era?â
âAbout that⌠Iâm unsure if I can tell you how you are in Nobunagaâs inner circle.â
Knowing Sasuke canât trust her fully with this information yet, which is a good thing, Amaryllis nodded before saying her thanks and leaving the room to clear her mind for the day.
âHello? Amaryllis? Are you sleeping?â Ellara waved her hand in front of Amaryllis.
Ellaraâs action made Amaryllis jump as she realized she zoned out for too long, âAh! Sorry, I was just lost in thought.â
âItâs been happening more lately. Are you sure you are alright, Amaryllis?â Cherry looked at her with worry.
âYeah⌠itâs just memories of the past, ones that I have forgotten have started to gradually return. Even if it isnât clear.â
That news of Amaryllisâ memories gradually returning made the two smile harder. It is also a sign that Amaryllis is slowly finding herself with her present self and her past self â a mix of both selves.
âThen I propose we should have a small gathering just with us three! Just a girls only thing, no guys!â Ellara quickly had her mind set on what food she should bring.
âI assume we are using my room once more for this?â Cherry had a smile on her face as she asked that question despite knowing the answer.
âYou know it will be held in your room, Cherry. It is the biggest one out of all three of us,â Amaryllis chuckled before taking note that she should bring some incense and fruits.
âLord Nobunaga, you have business to take care of in Kyoto,â Mitsuhide presented the letter from the capital â Hideyoshi was away to deal with a campaign alongside Mitsunari.
Taking the letter from his left-hand man, Nobunaga scanned the letterâs content before standing up. âPrepare for my departure on June 20, I will handle the affairs there, Mitsuhide.â
It was when Ranmaru came in to present a stack of paper that needed Nobunagaâs attention, the same time where he heard the date when Nobunaga will be in Kyoto â where he will be vulnerable. âLord Nobunaga, here are things that need your attention at the moment.â
âYou can settle it there with the pile, Ranmaru. You are dismissed,â Nobunaga redirected his attention with Mitsuhide, to discuss what should happen when he leaves.
Before truly leaving the room, Ranmaru overheard what temple Nobunaga will stay at â Honno-ji. Having enough information for the plan to work, Ranmaru left the two warlords to talk things out.
Itâs time. I have to do this. I canât hesitate⌠not on that day. It is our ONE chance.
SĆĄn did his regular routine by leading the flock throughout Azuchi before coming back to the Toyotomi Manor, waiting for Amaryllis to give them their snacks. They may be obedient to Amaryllis, but they are still wild crows who remember those that treat them well and mistreat them.
On cue, Amaryllis appears with a bag of seeds for them to chow on. At once, all of them flew and landed on the ground in front of her, waiting for her to lay out the seeds. âYou all sure do love these seeds. Despite it being so expensiveâŚâ Amaryllis spread the seeds out while feeling her pockets a bit lighter than usual due to her giving them high-quality food.
âCAW!â SĆĄn was clearly offended by his mistressâ comment before going back to his food.
Seeing them peck and smack each other for more, Amaryllis couldnât help but break out in a smile. Moments like this ease the weight on her heart a bit, even if it was small compared to the crimes she has committed over the years. It is a miracle that she hasnât been tattooed yet.
Standing up, Amaryllis decided to head back to the manor knowing her crows wouldnât let food go to waste. She has yet to finish that timeline let alone incorporate the painting that Yoshimoto sent under Morganâs name.
Compared to the hope in Azuchi, in Echigo, many are feeling unease especially for the time-travellers. The date where this land will be at war for a bit longer is about to come.
âJune 21st is comingâŚâ Arundhati muttered.
Sasuke senses Arundhatiâs uneasiness, it is reasonable knowing she is technically under Yoshimoto but takes tasks from Shingen from time to time. âWe have two months left. Aru, do you want to really come with us to see it?â Sasuke turned to her, worried for her as he gradually touched her fingers with his.
Taking a moment to think, Arundhati nodded. To her, it is reasonable to make sure history plays out correctly, for the very least. âMorgan and Kyoko will also follow us to Honno-ji.â
âThen, everyone is on board with the plan to watch the Honno-ji Incident?â
âYeah.â
With that, the pair quickly left to return back to the castle. Their lords are waiting for them to give them answers.
Ieyasu was looking at some reports that those in his domain sent to him. Either about the yields that will be produced, the tax rate for each land, and any suspicious rumors that talk about overthrowing him or killing him in general. Letting out a loud sigh, Ieyasu is exhausted. âTo think I will no longer have to fight once this is all overâŚâ
THUD
Turning around quickly, Ieyasu spots a book on the floor that wasnât there in any previous days. Clearly new that either Amaryllis or Mitsunari brought in his manor for him to read. Curious, Ieyasu picked it up with an excuse for a short break. Opening the book, he was puzzled.
âWhat the hell is this?â
The book was in a foreign language. Portuguese? Definitely not. It was written in characters that look like the Ming (China at the time) but different. He couldnât understand let alone read it despite the characters seemingly the same. Unbeknownst to him, it was Vietnamese â originally took the Chinese characters before adding their own flair to it before France made them into a colony of theirs, changing their whole alphabet.Â
Placing the book down, Ieyasu decided to not rack his brain on a book where he could use his brain on finishing his work. âI will go ask Amaryllis if she knows anything about that,â Ieyasu said aloud before picking up his brush to finish his remaining work.
âWhy order me to massage your back while doing work, Masamune?â Ellara stared at her lord, trying to figure out why he ordered her to do this.
Without looking up from his work, Masamune merely said, âI trust you enough for you to do this, Ellara. After all, sitting down all day isnât good, especially for the back, according to both Ieyasu and Amaryllisâ
Letting out a sigh, Ellara continued massaging her lordâs back despite the blush on her cheeks. For this action, it is intimate for her but decided to shove her voice back down her throat due to their status being far apart â the elders let alone the court would not accept her as his wife.
Outside in Azuchi, the ninjas and some vassals decided to meet up and chat during the moment of peace â even if it was short.
âIt is a surprise for you to be here, Hanzo,â Yori commented on the Tokugawa ninjaâs presence.
âThere isnât much for me to do at this time. Besides, you sent that letter,â Hanzo decided to keep it brief.
âIt is still an honor to have your presence, Hanzo. To stay loyal to your lord isnât an easy feat during these times,â Kyubei said aloud before drinking his tea he prepared for this moment.
Hanzo looked at Kyubei. âI should also say that to you, Kyubei. I suppose we are alike in a way,â Hanzo picked up his cup of tea before taking a sip to test if it is to his liking.
âAre you two constantly formal when you are with each other?â Ryuu looked at the two like they grew two heads.
âThis is normal behavior for them, Ryuu. I know it has been about five years since you came to service for the Oda, but you still have a lot more to learn here. Especially our dynamics and lords,â Kojuro said to reassure the youngest of the group.
Ryuu just looked at Kojuro before thinking about his words. âLord Kojuro, please enlighten me on this rumor I have been hearing for the past two days. Is it in fact true that you got robbed in broad daylight when you were in town with the robber taking your money?â
âPFFâ!â That took everyone off guard. Poor Hanzo spitted his tea out, he just wanted to taste it.
âWHAT!? Kojuro!? Buddy? What happened!?â Yori slammed his cup a bit too hard on the table while looking at Kojuro.
Kojuro sat there in silence before glaring at Ryuu. âHow do you know?â
âA friend.â
Sparks could be seen between the ninja and vassal. Clearly screwing with each in their own way.
âI quite enjoy this tea, Kyubei.â
âIt is an honor to have such a compliment from a picky ninja, Hanzo.â
âEh?â
Standing out on the balcony of his tenshu, Nobunaga looked down on the town that grew over the years. To think where he will finally put an end to the war that plagued this country for nearly two centuries, it is hard to digest. He canât claim the title of Shogun due to his clanâs connection to the Taria Clan, but he can just be a ruler without that title.
âBrother.â Nobunaga turned around to see his sister. Worry present on her delicate face.
âWhat has happened?â
â...stay safe when you head to Honno-ji in the coming months. And⌠donât let your guard down,â Cherry said everything she wanted to her brother, a need to as there was a feeling that she couldnât explain but be uneasy towards her brotherâs departure.
Seeing his sister worry for his safety despite the many times he went to fight, he broke into a genuine smile. âI will be fine. I never let my guard down unless it is you, Cherry. You are the one person I can fully trust with my castle and back,â Nobunaga said with full confidence before ruffling up his sisterâs hair.
Cherry instinctively tried to get him to stop but his words didnât give her the reassurance that she was hoping to have â it made that feeling grow. Something is about to happen to him and she may have to relive it once more. The memory she wishes she could easily forget but deep down, she has to overcome it sooner or later.
Taking a stroll late in the night, Amaryllis was standing in the garden with a letter in her hand. Calling out for SĆĄn, in which he appeared. Making sure nobody was awake nor near her, she waited and did a quick scan of someone lurking or watching her movements.
âŚ
No presence was sensed by her. Knowing it is a rare chance and the vassals on night patrol will come to the garden soon, Amaryllis tied a letter on SĆĄnâs leg before throwing him into the air. Without a word, SĆĄn took flight towards the north. Watching SĆĄnâs figure slowly becoming smaller, Amaryllis left to retire for the night.
Did Sasuke try to hide that Nobunaga will die soon? I suppose it was best for him to do such. Either way, I wonât interfer⌠it is not my place nor my life will change anything when it comes to fate. My life⌠doesnât have much meaning to it, I think...
Looking at her hands once more, it may be clean with her hands being somewhat rough due to her training, but in her eyes, it is covered in blood. Taking a deep breath before letting it out, Amaryllis went to sleep. Letting her mind be tormented by those âdreamsâ once more.
âReport, Ranmaru?â Kennyo turned to Ranmaru, who jumped from his position from above after finding him.
âYes, Master.â
Standing tall, Ranmaru opens his mouth and spills the information he has gathered to Kennyo. The day where Nobunaga will be vulnerable. How many will accompany him on his journey to Kyoto and more. Yet, he felt afraid. He is going with Nobunaga to Kyoto but at the same time one of his adoptive brothers is coming with him. He doesnât know. He doesnât know if he wants him to be a part of the casualty or convince him to stay down for this journey.
Can I⌠really betray someone who accepted me into their family with open arms
âCaptian.â
âWhat is it?â
âI have something important that you may enjoy.â
Staring at his crewmember, Motonari snatched what one of his men was holding. Upon opening it, he broke into a smile â a terrifying one.
âSet course back to land. We will do a bit of a âsight seeingâ on June 20th.â A grin appeared on his face, either by the expectation of a ruler meeting his demise or his chance to make his dramatic entrance back into the samurai world.

Amaryllis went to Echigo as an Odaâs diplomat in the alliance. Usually, it would be Cherry in charge of anything related to the Uesugi-Takeda alliance due to her and Kenshin being in love with a wedding planned soon but, the two lovebirds were a bit caught up with each other ,thus leaving Amaryllis to check and see if there is anything that needed clarification for both sides. Marie was busy elsewhere â according to Sasuke, she had to return to the future due to personal business but she will return to the past at a later date. She didnât have much to do, thus deciding to practice her swings or make slight variations of her battle style.
âHey Ama, you said you are a student of Mitsuhide right?â Kyoko walked up to her, clearly interested in the training she went through.
Turning to Kyoko, Amaryllis pauses her bokken midstrike, âYes⌠why bring it up?â
âJust interested in how Mitsuhide put you through! Well, probably less life threatening compared to Kenshinâs⌠hahaâŚâ Kyoko looked away when she remembered the days where Sasuke was running for his life from a slashing manic, Kenshin.
âIn what? Mitsuhide trained me in a lot of thingsââ
âHey!â Arundhati appeared behind Amaryllis â who sighed.
Seeing the two looking at her with curiosity, she took a moment to think about it. Especially how the two sides + Ikko-Ikki sect decided to keep the alliance going even after putting down the threat which was Yoshiaki. And the fact that Morgan somehow convinced Kicho and Motonari to stand down and join them under some conditions â they are in charge of that, not her nor anybody.
âWhat are you three even doing?â Yukimura came into the training room with a dried bamboo stick in hand to practice.
A smile appeared on Amaryllis face, especially knowing this is a good â perfect â chance to have some payback. âHey, Yuki. Mind helping me out by displaying something that Mitsuhide taught me?â Despite that smile on her face, both Arundhati and Kyoko felt worried for the Crimson Warrior.
âIs it training?â Yukimura was confused by the bizarre request â Amaryllis usually doesnât do this.
Her smile reached her eyes with it being a bit bigger than usual, âIt is.â
âOW OW OW! AMARYLLIS CUTâ OW!â Yukimura had one of his hands behind him with the other supporting him from falling face first to the ground. With Amaryllis stepping on his back. A few scratches and bruises on himself from Amaryllisâ displaying several ways in defending oneself.
âOkay, you see, Mitsuhide taught me a âtrickâ which he uses quite often~â Amaryllis coo which is out of character for her, âIf I place pressure right near the joints, it can make them lose all senses in that area for a bit. Now Yuki, you donât mind if I show them how it's done?â
âIF YOU STOPâ ow⌠you werenât kidding. I donât even feel my right arm anymore. Wait. You could haveââ Yukimura stared at Amaryllis who was still smiling, clearly happy with the result.
âIndeed. Well, I would have done worse than what Mitsuhide taught me and Morgan. Especially near the crotch~â
âYou are really his student.â
Arundhati and Kyoko felt worried for any unsuspecting men who tried to do it to Amaryllis. If what she displayed on Yukimura wasnât meant to kill but disable, with what she said, does that mean she would not only end the manâs bloodline with him but also humiliate him for all his life?Â
âHaha⌠I think we get,â Kyoko felt more worry, if what Shingen told them about her father is like⌠then maybe she inherited some of his traits despite not being related by blood.
Arundhati looked like she was praying for the poor unsuspecting future victims. Shingen told her more in depth on how Shinji was very protective of his wife, Kiku, to the point he made some who tried to kill or harm her be stuck on the toilet for nearly the whole day or humiliated themselves by throwing up. It is worse than dying as you are forced to remember it constantly. âYeah. I think I can see why nobody wants to anger her.â

AN: @oh-my-otome here is what I cooked up! This takes place after act 2 and small events that follows up act 3. I am following the events of Yoshimoto's main and dramatic route with some slight changes to fit not only my OCs but my mutuals as well. I do plan to make a timeline maybe in the future once I settle it.
